Detailed Reviews
Its a bit hard to get there at first. But once you learn where exactly it is on the map, you'll find it very convenient location! Me Nd my partner stayed for 3 nights before moving to Patong area. The room is SUPER BIG! And the bed, which I found out later they put two 3.5" singles together to make a humongous 4ppl sleepable bed! We love it also how the cleaning maids really did their job so well. The room is clean with new towels, sheets, water replenished, etc. Very high standard on cleanliness, which we appreciate from a small hotel. Breakfast was minimal but sufficient to get us going in the morning. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We rented a motorbike from them for a reasonable 200 baht a day for two days. during our stay there were black-out period but they gav us candles and comforting words with accurate time when the lights would come back (so we could plan a massage or light dinner somewhere else). Overall it's a definitely worth the money and we would go back to stay there again! Ps. There is no swimming pool.

Great and cheap place to stay! I believe the reason they are cheap is because they do not have much amenities, such as the coffee pot, hairdryer, pool, robes, in place restaurant or huge complimentary breakfast.
They do have a tv in the room, toast and coffee in morning, fridge in room, great service, and free wifi, and 2 computers downstairs that you can use. Very clean and secure. The owner is very nice and he and the staff are very helpful! If you aren't sure of what to do while in Phuket then ask them or the owner! The owner speaks English very well also and is so nice and helpful! They have motorcycles for rent to get around town or you can get them to call you a cab, and catch a tuk tuk back!

We've visited this hotel for 1 night. Our room was for 3 person. Big room, old furniture, not LD tv.. But balcony was pretty huge. Personal speak English well. Breakfast has not wide of choice meals, just bread and tea.. Location is good, you can find everything even at night. I can recommend this hotel for another guests.

This little guesthouse is about 10 minutes from patong beach. It is a lovely place with spacious rooms with air con, balconys and power showers.
The breakfast is not the best but more than adequate.
Staff are extremely helpfull and friendly and the price is exceptional!

This hotel, while a little difficult to find at first (we decided to walk from the town!! 4kn later...) is most definitely worth the trek! Spotlessly clean, beautiful spacious room, big bed, comfortable nights sleep! Balcony is lovely too and the staff were so helpful, they helped us hire motorbikes and gave us a map of the town. This was far and away the best hotel we stayed in during our 6 week trip around SE Asia!
Breakfast may be a little bland (just coffee and toast) but it was grand. If they were to get a kitchen sorted out for breakfasts it would most definitely be a 5* place!! We absolutely would recommend it to anyone and would stay again!

Samkong Place is a good Guest House (Apartment). Price is cheap for each room. Good Service with heart. An operator speaks nice when you call for asking some information. Room is clean. But breakfast is limited of choice.
Lots of food nearby.

Samkong palace is more like it for the price. A very clean room with a/c and modern furnishings. The staff was very nice. Cold water awaiting you in the lobby, coffee, tea and toast for breakfast. Can't ask for much more than that! Rooms cleaned daily on request and free wifi. Be sure to ask for the slip with the code.

Very nice apartment large room, no food preparation facilities though.
Serviced daily and spotlessly clean.
Staff pleasant and efficient.
As a place to stay near to Bangkock Phuket International Hospital while having work done to one's teeth or bod it is excellent, a couple of minutes walking and you are in the hospital.
Breakfast is only toast and coffee but that suited me.
No pool, fitness or other facilities of a similar ilk but I was not interested in that sort of thing so no problem.

Returning after three years, it's like coming back home to a friendly, clean and proper place. The receptionist Ploi still remembers me! Her colleague Wan is new. General manager Tao, a local islander, speaks fluent English and is most helpful. The in-house security is good.
Now a mini-fridge next to the reception counter offers self-service welcome drinks: a choice of refreshing citronella tea or water. Morning continental breakfast is available on the table in the lobby. At other times, you can help yourself to tea and coffee whenever you like, and I love it as you don't have to go upstairs to make your own beverage!
My room on the first floor was bright and cheerful. The bath towels were arranged like a standing white swan on the big double bed, a nice touch. Shampoo and bath gel dispensers are in the shower. Beside the washbasin were a small bar of hand soap, a packed shower cap and two sanitized glasses on a tray. Next to the toilet bowl are a toilet roll and a waste basket.
The air-con and lights work when the key holder is inserted. Two pairs of rubber slippers are in the room and I saw guests wearing theirs even outdoors.
For the price you pay, this must be one of the best deals in Phuket town. I used it as a base to explore the old part of the city and hunt down local delicacies such as fish/crab curry noodles (nam ya), Hokkien mee and so on. Visit the wet market to buy home-made desserts and savoury snacks. Go to nearby Tesco Lotus and Index mall for food, shopping and good buys. Many eateries abound outside in the vicinity if you appreciate yummy local Thai dishes.
If you prefer a beach holiday, then head for a seaside hotel. Samkong Place is definitely for city lovers with its ample parking lots should you hire a car or if you need to go to Bangkok Hospital 300 meters away.
