We just spent the kids' mid-term break here, five days in such a lovely setting, I really don't know where to start the review. I think I will just list some bullet points. - Setting - quite spectacular, a private bay, nothing else there but the hotel. At this time, the time of COViD, the occupancy was low, but not so low that we seemed weirdly alone. Enough life to make things enjoyable. - Sunsets - just incredible - we got lucky with weather, although at this time of year you're probably assured of great weather. I'll attach a few shots, but a sundowner cocktail was a requirement each night. these pics were taken over various nights - really lovely way to end the day. - Pools - a full range for the family, from toddlers through to those interested in doing laps. The pools are huge, so you are sure to find your spot. - Activities - we brought a group of teenage boys, six of them. Between the archery, golf driving range, putt putt mini golf - all free for use - big gym, basketball court, beach volleyball, badminton, kids club, pools, snorkeling on the reef off beach, and so on, they were able to keep themselves occupied. Amazingly, in a week, I never heard 'I'm bored' - not once. That is a record. - Food - COVID and relatively low occupancy has closed a couple of their facilities, but the selection at the beachfront place was great. If I lived there, I'd probably get tired of the same things again and again - but for our time, we ate really well. They also did all you can eat buffets a couple of the nights, as well as a street stall type set up one night. - Breakfast - The full buffet, freshly made waffles and pancakes, a fresh juice bar, where you can get your ginger and carrot infusions made, full Thai and western offering, all served next to pool. - Drinks - no complaints, maybe just a light comment or two. The happy hour was not as great as some other locations we have hit - 30% off, not the 2 for 1 we've typically seen elsewhere. The beer special option was Chang, not my favorite. But ok, mojitos, margaritas, G&Ts all seemed to work, and service was excellent. - Rooms - quite comfortable. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was lovely. I'd ask for that, or at least an ocean or pool view. No CNN or BBC news channels, which I think was actually a plus. But no movie channels either - but, given all else on offer, we were fine. - Spa - they have a great special at the moment, 800B for an hour oil massage. Unfortunately, it was booked out on the days we wanted to go - so I can't say how nice it was - but having looked at the facilities, it is probably great. Reserve ahead of time, we learned. - The yacht - Born Free - We went out on the yacht, an 86 foot sailing ketch suitable to the lifestyles of rich and famous. The price we paid for 10 was cheaper than if we had gone snorkeling with ten people from a regular dive shop - and it is truly incredible. Great crew. Fun time. It was the capstone for the vacation. - Dive shop - Sea Fun Divers, located in the Meridien, with offices elsewhere in the area, is probably the best dive operation in Phuket. Their boat, smaller and more luxurious than the big operations running twice as many divers, is the way to go. That is enough for now. The GM, Julian Lowry, was a superb host and helped us set this all up - for which we are extremely grateful. HIs team, always eager to help, made us feel welcome. We'll be back.

Ocean front, gorgeous pool areas, great restaurants and excellent service, do not miss out if you are headed to Phuket.  During Covid pandemic  most of the popular spots are closed down creating negative feelings but here at Le Meridien you can forget about surrounding  ghost places and still feel happy walking on the private beach or relaxing by the oversized pools. Well-appointed rooms, the views from the ocean front suite were gorgeous, loved having a huge balcony on which you can watch the sunset.   We enjoyed our stay at this oasis hotel and we enjoyed hospitality experienced from the entire staff. Special appreciation to Mr. Anton for profound help with choosing our accommodation and offering a great package and to Khun Meow for her sincere hospitality, excellent customer service backed by plenty of welcoming Thai smiles :) Thank you, hope to see you soon.
