A seamless airport pickup and check in, attentive staff, a most comfortable room (with fabulous bed pillows) and an overall fantastic experience. The food is excellent (amazing breakfasts) with Black Ginger being a must visit restaurant. With the choice of 3 pools and the beach right there, we could not have wished for more. We will be back!

Hotel's Favorite
Like pretty much everyone who reviews this hotel, we cannot recommend it enough. I wondered if it was 'too good to be true', but it really is that good! From the moment you arrive, you feel like you are in an oasis of calm and luxury and are treated as if you are the most important person there. The resort is absolutely enormous! It took us a couple of days to even find the third pool - it wasn't a problem as all of the pools are incredible and you will find one to suit your mood (we changed location of pool on a daily basis......just because we could LOL!) One of the adult pools has a swim up bar which is just gorgeous - Tor is the barman there and is quite the character - he is amazing and will look after you royally. Ian and Dang are on duty round the other pools and will also look after your every need, and when you go for lunch at the restaurant, Ball will be on duty to make you feel special. The food is amazing - Soo at Breakfast will cater for your every need and with such a huge (and delicious) selection of foods you could spend all day there and will be spoilt for choice. The rooms are gorgeous - really comfy beds and a really good replenishment system of drinking water in your room each day - even the housekeeping staff are really friendly - the staff work ethic throughout the hotel is the best we have ever experienced in over 20 years of travelling to Thailand. The hotel itself is so well designed, it will take your breath away. Whoever dealt with the little touches as a nod to the history of being a tin mine deserves a medal - wherever you look or turn, there is a style statement which adds to the whole experience without being over the top. We bought lots of things from the hotel shop as we loved the whole design. My husband had a few health issues whilst we were there which were dealt with swiftly and professionally by the in house First Aid team, something we really appreciated as it is scary being ill when on holiday in a foreign country. Nothing was too much to ask. Nai Yang itself is also really lovely - the beach is just outside the hotel where you can find all sorts of food, massages from the ladies in the yellow tops on the beach (who are SUCH fun - give them a go - they've been without any earnings during all of Covid so are delighted to welcome you) and sunset bars to die for - the view is amazing when you watch the sun dissolve into the sea - just magical. As everyone has said, this really is a top class hotel with service and attitudes from the staff making this a truly memorable experience - we will be back as soon as we possibly can!

Dear Guest, Wow, what a headline! Your review is too good to be true :-) but after sharing with the team, they all agree that it is true. You made Khun Tor, Khun Ian, Khun Soo, Khun Dang and Khun Ball very proud today and this give them all further encouragement to continue to exceed guests expectations. It is them who make our guests feel at "home away from home" and deliver the genuine Thai hospitality the country is known for. I am glad to hear that you managed to find the third pool in only a couple of days, it took me more than 3 days when I started working at The Slate...LOL The Slate was designed by world-famous architect Bill Bensley. It combines industrial elements with traditional Thai décor and cutting edge art, set against a lush and opulent tropical paradise. I am thrilled to hear that you have enjoyed the style and the little touches. I am glad to know that our team were able to assist your husband and they all wish him well. We can't wait to welcome you back for another memorable stay, and please feel free to contact me directly and I will be more than happy in looking personally after your arrangements. With warm regards, Claude Claude Sauter General Manager / The Slate claude@theslatephuket.com

Absolutely recommend this hotel 100%. We are a family of 4 with two young kids (6,3) and I loved the size and beds in the D-Buk family suite - great if your little ones are happy sharing a bed. Breakfast was great, the kids LOVED the pool and I enjoyed escaping to the adult only pool when I could. The grounds were beautiful and just outside the hotel you can easily walk to a chilled beach with restaurants etc. It's super convenient for the airport and I loved the meal at Ginger, don't miss it if you go. Hope we can return one day.

I have been organizing international seminars for over 25 years. The most recent one I organized at the Slate. I must admit that it was the most well organized ever, but not by me. The staff at the Slate under the guidance of Kuhn Lalida, were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. From the organization of our marketing materials and presentation around the hotel to the spectacular seminar room they arranged. The projection and sound systems were perfect. The break out sessions were way over catered with such a great selection of food and drinks. The lunches were wonderful with a great selection of Thai and International food to satisfy all of our international visitors. The two evenings we arranged one at Black Ginger and the other a Pool Party were fantastic with great cocktails and wonderful food. We even had a DJ at the pool party. Thank you Monsieur Claude and Kuhn Lalida. It was the best Seminar Ever!

I decided to return here and surprise my husband for our 10th year wedding anniversary as we had originally stayed here for our honeymoon when it was known as The Indigo Pearl. This place never disappoints! It’s such a magical place and all of the architecture is amazing and so very unique. Everything is like a piece of art from the taps, showers, pools and everything else! The Black Ginger restaurant is a MUST visit, at night time it’s simply stunning just walking into the entrance alone is a party for the eyes to feast upon! The Rivet and Rebar restaurant is also a MUST, the whole experience here was amazing….the interior of this place is STUNNING & food on point!! The staff are prompt, kind and eager to help with anything you need. We had a butler, Reen who looked after us whilst we stayed in the Bensley Suite, Reen made sure we had anything and everything taken care of. Thank you Slate Resort for yet another wonderful visit.

The place is not fit for a family with young children. Most hotel premises are closed to kids below 14 (including two of the three swimming pools and most of the restaurants / bars). The few premises opened to kids generally do not have air conditioning. The family pool had almost nothing for kids to play with (there was one giant duck, and nothing else: not even a ball). Rooms are unsafe for young kids: for instance, there was a bowl of hot oil, heated by a candle, on the floor fully accessible to young kids; and all glasses and minibar are on an open trolley fully accessible to babies. The hotel is infested with mosquitoes. The buildings are basically located around a mosquito-breeding pond. To walk from one place to another, one needs to take a long path that goes all around the buildings, as one cannot cross that pond. The drinks are quite bad. Mattresses are very old and uncomfortable. The rooms are weirdly furnished: you will need a lot of strength to open or close curtains, or to open the massive wooden sliding door to the bathroom. For most bars and restaurants, you will need to make a booking several days in advance. Room service is quite good but very expensive. The spa is also far more expensive than other hotels in Phuket.

Dear pierremK7581BS, Sawasdee krap, bonjour, It was nice meeting you both in person during your 3 nights-stay at The Slate resort and thank you for having stayed with us. At this occasion, we have attentively received all your concerns raised up within your review and again, I am very sorry to read about your disappointment while trying to accommodate you the best way we could. It was not aware about the room concerns you have shared to us within your review and whenever it is a question of safety or potential accident, we are indeed taking very seriously any situation. While we are listed as one of the best family resort on the island, thank you again for your constructive feedback which will be immediately reviewed internally and please do not hesitate to reach me out in return should you wish any further assistance from the resort management on the various points listed within your review. Went for a weekend getaway with Mum and was blown away by the friendly service. We dined at the famous Black Ginger restaurant, went for a 3 hr long Spa Treatment, ate our way across all their onsite restaurants, and used their Gym to work off the extra calories! Highly recommend for anyone looking to get pampered with their loved ones :)

This was our second stay here. Our first time was about 10 years ago when it was called Indigo Pearl. Nothing has changed and it is still outstanding in all ways - the incredible architecture, the large rooms, the very friendly and professional staff (reception, hospitality, room cleaners, pool attendants, gardeners), the BEST breakfasts, and the 3 magnificent pools. This time we also tried their upmarket restaurant (Black Ginger) which was a wonderful dinner and experience, and we had cocktails in their bar (Rivet) which has a wonderful ambience and sensational views across the property - particularly around and after sunset. We also love this hotel because of its proximity to the airport and the small local beachside village with its own selection of restaurants, massages, minimarts, etc. Our next visit will be a lot sooner than another 10 years!
