Stayed 2 nights so we could have a base to visit Trier and other sights along the Mosel River.174 E for 2 nights with breakfast.. This was a mill at one time now a vineyard. Good dinner but frantic waiter, nervous just watching him. Nice wine made by the owners. Nice buffet breakfast.

We stayed here because we had understood other motorcycle tour companys used the Hotel, and we were touring on our motorcycle so had hoped for a warm welcome. Not so. The tall man with a beard who was at reception when we arrived must be either the owner or related to the owners, because nobody in their right mind trying... More

I must have stayed in worse hotels...but I actually can't remember one. If I were asked for one word to sum up the place it would be 'grim'. Set in a delightful location you might expect some care and attention but in the few years since I last stayed there has been none. Note I would never book this hotel... More

The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the dinner was outstanding. They have an excellent wait staff and chef. There's an outside patio area with tables and umbrellas, and food and drinks are available. There's also a full bar inside. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a very nice place to stay... More

We overnighted at Karlsmuhle quite a few times in the past. Mostly, having arrived at Frankfurt after a transatlantic flight and picked up a rental car. But somehow in recent years we had either flown to other airports or driven in other directions so the place stayed out of our past. It was nice to revisit. Place has not changed... More

Stayed two nights in April. In general the experience was good. The staff was super helpful and everyone were extremely nice and professional. The staff deserve 5/5 points. However, the rest of it was quite average. The rooms were ok. Smallish but enough for two. Bed was ok but my husband got some back pain as it was quite hard... More

Very nice hotel we have visiting in february, friendly and helpful people, wonderful surroundings - not far from Trier and various hiking possibilities. The restaurant offers various local dishes for small prices - do not miss the thursdays special flammekueche at 5eur!

We stayed using a voucher for two nights in late November to take in the Christmas markets in Trier. The hotel is a very short drive to Trier and is located in a secluded area behind some vineyards, which made it very tranquil. It used to be an old mill and still retains a water wheel which was a nice... More

We managed to get to Reception seconds ahead of a German coach party! result! because of the coach party (which was eating in a different dining room), the waiting staff were a bit stressed and when we said that we didn't have a reservation for dinner there was a moment of consternation. We were then shown a choice of two... More
