This was our third stay at Harptree Court and I do not know why I have not written before. The experience is simply superb and you are made to feel as though you are staying with friends in their country house.. The house and the grounds are stunning and the bedrooms and bathrooms are magnificent. In addition Linda's breakfasts are... More

A beautiful Georgian house in Somerset surrounded by lovely countryside with close proximity to Wells, Bath and Bristol and some lovely pubs for evening meals. We stayed in the Yellow Room, which was twin bedded and has every luxurious comfort one might hope for. The room has beautiful views over the countryside, particularly at this time of year in the... No words, just a splendid place. Modest in its stateliness, the building is well kept, creeper-clad set in wide tended lawns. Large bedroom (Pink, though without any obvious pink decor?) Sitting area, wardrobes, large bath with separate shower and tub. Breakfasts were first rate in a pleasant "morning room." Linda and Charles are friendly folks, literally staying up until the... Just the place for rest, relaxation, peace and tranquility. On arrival we were offered tea and homemade lemon drizzle cake - Linda’s specialty. Breakfast is freshly cooked to perfection. Crispy bacon, local sausage, Harptree eggs, tasty mushrooms and tomatoes. Fresh toast with Charles's homemade raspberry jam or marmalade and don't forget to use the strainer as it is loose leaf... Plush, elegant 18th century rooms - the house is a Georgian treat and its garden, though modest, has a genuine country house feel. Comfortable bed which was a huge relief after a long day of driving and a very relaxing proper bathtub. Breakfast was delicious and simple and not hurry to get up and rush about. The hosts were friendly... More

We'd booked to eat at the Pony and Trap, so stayed at Harptree Court. We had the warmest of welcomes from Linda, Charles and Coco (the dog). The room was spotless, the tea and lemon drizzle cake served on arrival delicious, and the building and grounds stunning. We walked around the walled garden and met two lovely ladies who grow... We spent the weekend at the Harptree Court to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hosts are exceptional, they could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The Pink Room is a delight and the breakfasts excellent. Linda's lemon cake deserves its outstanding reputation, it is delicious!

This was our fourth time at Harptree, and we were greeted with the same care and attention from Linda and Charles as all our other visits. We were given tea and Linda's delightful lemon drizzle cake on arrival served on the front lawn in the sun. This stay was in the Yellow room with big bay windows looking out over... More

My husband and I recently visited Harptree Court for a 4 night break. We stayed in the yurt! First impressions as we drove into the grounds and up the drive to draw up at the house were ...WOW! The house itself has been in the family for generations and is a wonderful gracious building with light and space, all beautifully... More

We spent the weekend of my son's wedding at this beautiful house. Everything was excellent from the huge, comfortable bedrooms to the paintings and antique furniture. Breakfast was sumptuous and included a range of fresh fruit, including strawberries and raspberries followed by a full cooked breakfast. This was beautifully presented in a hot tray so that you could help yourself... More
