I have been there for my academic trip recently. It was an incredible moment since it was my first time in Lahad Datu, Sabah. The price was reasonable as we paid for the student price. We stayed in a dorm style of accommodation, the bed was comfortable because I was able to sleep peacefully even though they turn off the electricity... More

Thank you so much for organised our trip and activities in DVFC for 3Days.We were very lucky encountered with a herd of Borneo Pygmy Elephants on our way the centre .One of my Top Wishlist. And so much easier to get involved and activities arrangements by our Experience tour guide. ( Joe)or wildlifetripborneo@gmail.com with so much interest in wildlife especially... More

If luxury is what you're after, then head on down the road the the rainforest lodge. If you want an affordable place to stay that's clean, has healthy filling meals, and is right in the middle of pristine dipterocarp rainforest, then this is the place for you. We stayed in one of the "rest houses" which are basic motel rooms.... More

I get angry when people give this place bad reviews. They somewhat expect to be catered for and that this place is built for tourists. Guess what, this place is a scentist research facility and you should be lucky that you are at all allowed to set foot in this area that is under conservation. The fact that is not... More

We spent several days here doing lots of trekking through the jungle with guides. Lots of amazing creatures to be seen as well as beautiful scenery. We would recommend the night walks which gave you a chance to see some of the smaller creatures that only venture out a night. We booked the trip through StickyRice which included a guide... More

The rating for accommodation wouldn't be 5*, but the experience that I had there was. We did a 3N/4D tour with Sticky Rice Tours which included one night staying at Purut waterfall at a camp. It costs more to do it with Sticky Rice, but well worth it because you have a fantastic guide (we had Bedley) who was great... More

Very expensive for what it is but it is in the middle of the jungle and one of only two accommodations in the area so I'm not sure if it maybe should cost less or not? The room was large and clean. No aircon but a ceiling fan that worked when the electricity was on between 7am and 12 midnight.... More

The overall score should be 5 for the experience and 3 for accommodation and services. My husband and I have just spent a few days at the Danum Valley Field Center (DVFC), and I would like to share the basic and practical infos necessary to book and budget your stay there. I am thinking of those visitors who are allergic... More

We stayed here for four nights and absolutely loved it! If you want to get in touch with Borneo's rainforest and wildlife, this is the place to stay!! We stayed in one of the rest houses. The room was big, clean, and had a fan. Showers were cold, but we loved that coming back from our hikes being absolutely soking...... More

Great place to see many animals of Malaysian Borneo. As it seems when Checking in Lanah Datu, the transport is booked up frequently, so go directly to book your space at the office across from the airport in Lanah Datu. If you are unable to book in advance or book through sticky rice. They may be a little more expensive,... More
