Beautiful, quiet, safe, reasonably priced and very relaxing! A fantastic couple’s getaway! Our first time in the Caribbean, it was the end of September and we had beautiful weather almost everyday! Our trip came to us very last minute so we had to plan quickly. After as much research as we could do, we decided to take the plunge, fly into San Jose, hire a driver and get to Puerto Viejo. It was a long drive but absolutely worth it! We found Caribe Town hidden down a little dirt road, right across from the beach. It was a tropical paradise. The “hotel” itself was mostly open air with a few cabins, a saltwater pool, open air kitchens and beautiful handcrafted wood furniture and a bar that faced the pool. It was tucked in behind high walls for extreme privacy, that were camouflaged by the trees and foliage. The grounds were well kept and everything was pristine and clean. Marc and Jessica were great hosts! Even though they lived on the property (and in fact were in the room next to us, we never knew they were there unless we needed them. We were the first guests to be in the upstairs renovated room, separate from the cabins. Our room had an air conditioner, which we appreciated at night and was completely sealed, no bugs and controlled humidity! The shower was amazing, the bed was comfy and the handcrafted woodwork throughout was beautifully finished and maintained. It had a cute sitting room with a fridge, microwave and coffee pot, and a patio complete with hammocks. The little kitchenette was not necessary though as the hotel is walking distance from little local restaurants and Jessica does all the cooking for breakfast, homemade, fresh and natural food with fresh made juice and home made bread, something we got used to fast! It was a place we will never forget and will definitely go back to!

Stayed at Caribe Town for 8 nights to celebrate our anniversary and it was a beautiful and special place. Marc & Jessica welcomed us by communicating well before our trip by helping us set up a hotel in San Jose and transportation to the Caribbean location. Marc was so personable, available for our every question and need, and made our stay so very meaningful. We were served amazing breakfasts each morning that exceeded our expectations, highlighted by fresh fruit and his famous banana cake, waffles, pancakes.... The area is gorgeous, the room was the perfect picture of a Caribbean bungalow. The location is centrally located to National Parks, animal refugees, minutes from the beach, restaurants, and a short taxi ride to Puerto Viejo with a great night life. What highlighted this location as being beyond special, are the owners! Marc (Jessica was out of the country during our visit) has a genuine and wonderful spirit who when the end of our trip, felt as if we were leaving family. Marc's relationship with locals ensured our outings to be spectacular and well cared for by local guides. I cannot recommend this location enough, you will not be disappointed.

The property features five bungalows separated from each other so each room is very private. The grounds, flowers and plants are beautiful. Lots of birds and butterflies. The owner was very friendly and interesting and he prepared a delicious breakfast each morning. The property is about 10 minutes out of town but close enough to enjoy all of the area restaurants but quiet and peaceful at night. It is close to beaches and several good restaurants. Our room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. We highly recommend staying here.

My partner and I stayed for three nights at Caribe Town. We were initially impressed by the photos online and the reviews of previous guests. Arriving we were pleased that the place met our expectations. Beautiful architecture of the pool, dinner and lounge area. The bungalows were well designed and decorated, good lighting, with net screening all around to allow flow of air. The jungle on the grounds is manicured yet full and thriving. Marc took excellent care of us, gave us a recommendation for fresh water adventure, and cooked a delicious breakfast! We were very happy with our stay and would recommend others seeking a tranquil and comfortable stay in Playa Cocles.

Caribe Town is individual casitas located around a pool and breakfast/reception area. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spotless and the bathroom modern. Each living space had a porch with chairs. Privacy was provided by tropical plants that screen the units from one another. Parking convenient and Marc made our stay pleasant and problem free. Marc also made breakfast each morning. No wait involved. The owners live on the premises and just ringing a bell brings their assistance. Marc was a wealth of information about how to get places, where to eat, and tours. All in all an at home feel but with privacy included.

The place is just what you need to relax and enjoy. The rooms are very comfortable and the location is great as you can walk to the beach and different restaurants. Mark and Jessica went above and beyond to make our stay great, from showing us all of the frogs around the property to waking up early to make sure my husband had breakfast before having to leave. We also felt safe as they upheld the appropriate covid measures. Cannot wait to come back!

Our experience at Caribe Town was magnificent! Just the relaxation we needed at the end of two weeks in Costa Rica!

When checking in, Karalily was warm, welcoming, and helpful. We immediately felt at home and cared for. We instantly loved the fun-loving and family atmosphere Caribe Town provided. It is truly a place where you can relax, embrace the Carribean culture, and eat lots of delicious food with restaurants that are walking distance. Karalily and Joel were always willing to help us schedule tours, activities, massages, or whatever we needed for the 5 days we were there. They provided a truly exceptional and welcoming service.

Our cabin was super clean, no bugs or geckos in the room (which is rare for Costa Rica). There was hot water in the shower (also somewhat rare for Costa Rica). The cabins are very private and sit cozily on beautiful grounds with tropical plants everywhere. If you want a coco loco, Joel will pick a coconut from one of the trees on the property. Best coconut water and coco locos ever! The breakfast each morning is delicious with a mix of options. We had Caribbean oats, coconut french toast, yogurt parfait, and there is always the option to have bacon, eggs, and toast. Coffee is yummy, as well as the homemade fruit juices with each breakfast.

On top of the 5-star services and comfortable cabin, we asked Karalily if she had any information on ELOPING in the Puerto Viejo area. Turns out, she is an officiant and was able to perform a beautiful, natural, and intimate ceremony for us. With just two days' notice, Karalily and her family went above and beyond to make this experience beautiful and special for us. Joel captured beautiful pictures and videos to share with our families. Their darling daughters picked fresh flowers in the morning and threw them in the air when my husband and I kissed after saying I Do. They brought champagne and coco locos for us to celebrate with, and included a sand challice portion in the ceremony. I am speechless when I think about how perfectly everything came together due to Karalily, Joel, and their family. They made our time at Caribe Town so incredibly special!

By far the best experience we have had while traveling. Caribe Town will always hold a special place in our hearts!

Excellent boutique hotel with individual cabins nestled neatly into the jungle. The cabins are designed in such a way that natural light is always present - meaning you wake up with the sunrise. The beds are comfy and each room has a lovely little terrace with hammocks. The service was great with lots of contact leading up to our stay and lots of information given throughout for the best places to eat and visit. The breakfasts were fun and interesting, and the location was perfect - about a 20 mins cycle ride to the loud young backpacker area of Puerto Veijo - (We’re in our mid to late 30’s…we don’t need that) where you can get some great coffee and about 20 mins cycle ride down to Punta Uva a lovely swimming beach, if cocles right out the front doesn’t take your fancy. If there was a criticism it would be the pool area could do with a little spruce up but that's about it, but overall it’s a lovely small quiet boutique hotel and Joel & Karilily give you a really nice warm welcome.

I cannot say enough about Caribe Town! The staff is so helpful and friendly. They are always available in person or you can WhatsApp at any time to ask questions. Do not skip out on breakfast! Judith is an amazing chef and will cook you a made to order feast each morning. Coconut french toast was our favorite. :) The bungalows are perfect for two. Big comfortable bed, nice sized bathroom and a cute little front porch. The location of Caribe Town is perfect. You can rent bikes right across the street for $4 a day. It is an easy ride into town. There are also plenty of delicious restaurants surrounding the area. I would absolutely stay here again!

It was such a pleasure staying at Caribe Town for a week long retreat. We stayed in bungalow #1 which had everything we needed for our stay including expresso pods, towels, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner. The hosts Karilily and Joel were amazing, they made sure we were all comfortable and had what we needed. The food that was prepared was so good, everything very fresh and delicious. The entire property is absolutely gorgeous, you are in the middle of the jungle so you get to hear the wildlife around and might also see some animals around the property. Will definitely come back someday.

Hola hello! We accept all here at Caribe Town, although you've got it right, we only offer king bed bungalows, meaning a family is required to have the privacy of more than one bungalow :) That being said, we love ALL respectful guests of all ages and you would be more than welcome with your 14 year old! Hola to Moosejaw :) Although we do not specifically offer wedding planning services, you could certainly rent the whole hotel for the wedding and use it as you choose. We're doing our own wedding here in a month and keeping things simple. Lawyer on the beach for the ceremony, local Caribbean food and calypso music for a few hours on the terrace by the pool here at the hotel afterwards :) As mentioned by our helpful guests above, we certainly can help with activities etc.. Please just let me know if we can assist. Pura vida, Jessica
