We are a Drive in Fishing Lodge in Northern Ontario. We are within the Arctic watershed and have water depths up to 160 feet and more than 80 islands, which hold the big trophy fish. Our lake and the neighbouring lakes offer trophy walleye, pike, lake trout, brook trout and bass fishing at its best. Our location is in the far north with 1000s of miles of ATV trails. ATV overnights are welcome. You can enjoy Ontario wildlife as we are next to the world's biggest game preserve. Some of what you will see or photograph are bear, moose, wolf, bald-eagles, loons and of course trophy fish. Our goal is to offer everyone the opportunity to have the best vacation possible and our staff will see to it. We have 4 modern cabins with all the amenities as well as 8 motel units with small fridges. We do all kinds of plans, Housekeeping "B" which is just the cabin or Housekeeping "A" - which includes cabin with boat gas and bait and we also have the all inclusive American Plan package that includes cabin, boat, gas, bait, and meals!!! We have an in-ground pool, Sauna, an alcohol licensed dining room, high speed Internet connection in the main lodge and canoes for the whole family to enjoy. We have a small tackle shop and gas available. No one remains a stranger for long as the different groups have a lot to talk about after a day in our outdoor playground. At Chapleau Lodge the opportunities are endless and that adds up to be a great vacation spot for the sportsman or the whole family with something for everyone. If you are not familiar with Northern Ontario fishing tactics we can arrange a guide for you.

Great hosts - John is very helpful and accommodating. Comfortable cabins. Good meals (they're optional) and fantastic fishing. Clean water with a good bottom for swimming. Just an all round beautiful area. Wifi was spotty but it gave us an opportunity to get our faces out of our phones and enjoy our vacation. If you absolutely need wifi John can help you out.

John and his staff were friendly and genuine. There was no hesitation to get us settled after an 8 hr drive and ready to enjoy what Borden Lake has to offer.
The cabins are fantastic... Very well appointed and clean.
A doc right at your cabin was a perfect bonus...
The views are spectacular. The lake is quiet and almost raw.
As with many places, a map of the lake is helpful when you've never been there. Lots of highlights and marks on the map help to put you in some good general areas to start your trip off right.
Walleye were on the bite more in the evening. Pike and Bass were on fire during the mornings into the mid-day.
My next trip to Chapleau Lodge is already booked.

Spent 10 days a Chapleau Lodge. We stayed at the “Point”. This was our third time at the Lodge. John and the Crew are great people. They made the stay very enjoyable. The cabin was clean as usual, and the fishing was outstanding. I do not mind travelling over 8 hours to have the peace and tranquility I get staying at Chapleau lodge. Already booked next year’s visit😊

Excellent fishing, beautiful, clean lake. Fall colors were spectacular. American plan for meals was great for us. Cabins were comfortable and accurate to the descriptions and pictures. Boat worked smoothly and anything we needed was promptly supplies. John and his crew were great.

As has been the norm at the Lodge, our 8th annual trip included, great fishing, good friends new and old, amazing stories recounted and perhaps stretched. A truly fantastic Dining Room experience (thanks CJ). Wildlife encounters galore (too many to list). Can't wait to visit again! Thanks for all the little things you do John and Staff,

Tom Flockhart, Peterborough Ontario

Just returned from a lovely week at Chapleau Lodge. We stayed in the Bay View cottage. Wow! The view from the cottage, privacy and amenities provided were wonderful! The boat was parked at our own dock. What a bonus. We enjoyed being out on the water each day. John and Carmel were amazing hosts. Thank you for a great vacation!

After visiting their booth at a local sports show and checking them out online, I booked a cabin at Chapleau Lodge for our family vacation to relax and get some good fishing in. Never having been there before, I wasn't sure what to expect. Needless to say, I was not disappointed! Chapleau Lodge is a slice of paradise tucked away in the middle-of-nowhere Northern Ontario. As the only lodge on the 12-mile long Borden Lake, we had plenty of privacy and unpressured fishing in a pristine natural setting..

The cabins are well-maintained, simply furnished, and come with most everything you need for your stay. They are all lake front cabins with gorgeous views and private fire pits overlooking the lake. The recently installed free WIFI, which was a nice bonus.

The lodge itself is an appealing mix of modern and rustic. Plenty of trophy fish and nature decor line the walls while a large HD TV complete with surround sound and a large movie library take center stage for those who need a break from the action. The dining area is small but still roomy enough to seat our party of 7 at one table for meals. The chef was amazing, and his home-cooked dishes kept us fat and happy the entire trip.

Our hostess, Caroline, went above and beyond to meet our every need. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. From special menu items and fun surprises for my 5 year old son to showing us how to properly clean fish, she made the entire trip an absolute pleasure. Her hard work, along with the rustic setting and productive fishing will have me singing praises of the trip for years to come!

Short drive in from the main highway. Beautiful & clean cottage. Wi-fi was for the most part OK. John the host, was a pleasure to deal with. Whatever we needed, was provided right away. Not really a lot of people on the lake, although there were quite a few cottages at the far other end of the lake. There are motel like rooms, but these usually go to scuba diving students, that are training there. (Don't even notice them, as they train around the corner) Boats were reliable. (2-3 per boat depending on group size) There is an outdoor inground pool, which we used a couple of times as well as a sauna. Also, we had a very good time fishing. We caught something most times. Released most of them, as we lean a little more to conservation. All in all, my Dad, son & daughter and I had a fantastic time and would definitely consider going back. Probably the most important aspect was that the cottage was one of the best that we ever stayed in. It's important to read the reviews, because there are some bad ones out there.
