Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
Great experience at the hotel! Our first encounter was with the front desk staff who made our day after a longer than expected journey from the airport because of traffic jam. Shopper was superbly warm and bubbly and he made sure we settled well into our room. He took note that we would be departing very early for our return flight and breakfast boxes were provided for us. We were given a room with beautiful scenery of Kata Noi and I could even catch the beautiful sunrise from the balcony.
The hotel is generous with discounts be it meals in En Vogue restaurant, spa/massage and even complimentary water scooter at the pool. The regular shuttle service was also on time be it departure to or pick up from the beach. We enjoyed the breakfast spread and both the Thai and western food in the restaurant.
I’m also particularly thankful to Pu, our housekeeper who was meticulous in keeping our room clean and remembering our preferences. She was always friendly and made sure to check with us if she could clean our room whenever she saw us. She also took note of my preference not to have pink bedsheets for my children (who are both boys), which I really
appreciate.
The walk up the slope was challenging at first but it got better on subsequent climbs. In a way, I appreciate that the location of the hotel is up on a hill because it’s a nice and serene enclave that shields the resort from the crowd
and sounds of the main street.
Overall, it has been a wonderful experience and I would like to thank everyone in Novotel Phuket Kata Avista for the warm hospitality and wonderful service.

Me and my wife stayed in Novotel Phuket Kata Avista Resort for 4 night from 9th till 13th Aug 2022 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we really had a great time.
The hotel location is great on top of a hill quite near the exotic Kata beach which is just 5-7 minutes walking distance although the hotel provide complimentary shuttle service thrice a day which is great for those who find it difficult to climb the steep hill on way back to the hotel.
The hotel staff were really amazing right from the front desk, housekeeping, F&B, & the Spa who were out of the way very friendly, courteous, professional and always ready & eager to help the guests. This really reflects the great hospitality of Thailand.
We were upgraded to next category pool facing room which was a nice pleasant surprise as the view was splendid from our balcony. The rooms were impressive with modern amenities & interiors.
Both the swimming pools were quite clean with the upper level pool big enough for taking laps by an ardent swimmer like myself.
The restaurant EN VOGUE was quite spacious with lavish breakfast buffet spread out and we enjoyed it a lot. We even had lunch & dinner in the restaurant during our stay on couple of occasion as the food were quite tasty.
We enjoyed very much the couple massage in their InBalance Spa which was very soothing and relaxing as my masseur (forgot her name) who was excellent knew the the exact pressure points to release all the tension from the body.
It was really very nice gesture from the management for the anniversary greetings with the special sweet platter delivered to our room on our anniversary day.
Overall the hotel and the entire staff led by their General Manager Mr. Vineet Mahajan were amazing which made our stay great and memorable and would rate it 5*
Thanks and regards

Nothing but positive things to say about our stay in Kata beach.
Upon checkin you are handed a hand written note from the GM, Vineet. All info including shuttle times to the beach are also given.
We booked a family room two double beds. The rooms are basic but big and all the facilities you would need as a a family are there. Large fridge, microwave, plates etc. they provide your own beach towels which are refreshed daily. Same for water too.
Breakfast is great with a dedicated kids corner and free popsicles for the kids.
The two pools are huge and there are more than enough loungers for every one.
There is a swim up bar which also serves food all day.
The hotel is on a big hill so families with smaller kids will need to use the shuttle which is three times a day.
If you go down for dinner into the town, then a tuk tuk can be negotiated for 150 Bath up the hill which is great value.
The beach itself is awesome and totally safe for kids. I would recommend turning to the right and walking 25-50 metres down. There are a couple of beach bars up agains the fence and they will hire sun chairs for 100 bht per chair all day, worth their weight in gold.
You can get drinks there and they will order food in, cheese sand which is 150 bht and is great for the kids.
If you want a family massage tj massage is at the bottom of the hill then left, great value and seriously good massages.
There are lots of Thai restaurants our favourite was outdoor bbq - unusual name but don’t be fooled.
There is also a coffee club and Starbucks.
Back to the hotel, huge thank you to Kier at breakfast who couldn’t do enough for us including getting our coffee every morning even though it is self service. The bagels where delicious with peanut butter! Vineet the GM walked the restaurant daily and is a lovely touch, great guy.
The hotel is purely aimed at families, there is a kids room and he is looking to create a teens space.
If you are looking for a relaxing no frills family vacation, support this hotel as the team are super grateful for the custom. An absolute gem in the Kata Beach area.

I was looking everywhere to find reviews for the honeymoon package, but didn't find any. We took the chance anyways.
I think the honeymoon package was worth it for the price. We found this on their main website under special offers.
The staff had difficulty understanding what we wanted to ask regarding the package as their English is not so good. However, they reply to messages very fast and are eager to help.
There is not option to add on the honeymoon package to a reservation from another hotel website like trips.com
For the package, be sure to confirm that you have reserved it.
The welcoming decorations with Thai flowers are pretty, but not the most grand. The desserts in the fridge are very tasty.
The dinner has very limited options and do not include fancy drinks. The menu is not the same as what you find on the Internet, and will only be provided on arrival. Nevertheless, the food is delicious. We ordered green and red curry. Dinner closes by 10:30pm. Inform staff on the day of arrival when you would like the dinner.
The massage package is the ordinary vanilla oil massage that lasts one hour and is comfortable and relaxing to do next to your partner. Book the timing at least a day in advance in case spots fill up. Last spa time slot is 5pm.
The breakfast is very filling and has a nice mixture of Thai foods and Western foods. The ice cream is not included in the breakfast. Breakfast closes by 10am
Don't be late for your bath bomb and remind them to make the water warm!

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights arriving from the lovely Grand Mercure Patong with a rental car at noon. After parking in front, a nice receptionist processed our prepaid check in; copying our passports, signing a form and making a 2,000 Thb deposit. After enjoying a pizza, we collected the key cards at 2PM, then followed the porter up 2 different elevators to the back building’s 4th floor.
Room #412 was marble tiled and spacious, opening to a closet area(hot pot, refer with spring waters), across a large bathroom with a bathtub and a tile shower, both with 15 second hot water. Then a firm king, large TV(clear Al Jezzera, CGTN, CNA, DW, France 24, HK and ~10 more channels), desk with chair, strong open wifi, good lighting/outlets and a quiet unobtrusive wall AC. A sliding door opened to a large balcony with 2 oversize chairs and a very limited seaview over the courtyard pools and distant trees.
I used the new underutilized 5 station gym and we took the 9AM shuttle for the short steep ride down to Kata Beach.
The 7AM breakfast buffet in the warm openair restaurant was complete with Western and Asian sections with 3 coffee machines.
This is a good hotel with a smiling youthful staff that caters primarily to young families. For us, it was overwhelming with children, especially in the large adult pool. The courtyard needs to be larger to provide all guests with a swimmable pool and some open lounge chairs.

I particularly liked the excellent bed and pillow, very good service by the staff: Manny at the reception, May as room maid and all the others whose names I did not get. The environment is fairly quiet with hardly any noise affecting my sleep - Great for someone with a light sleep like me!
Room blinds were closing well so that also sunlight was not interrupting my sleep prematurely.
Breakfast though was a bit repetitive, but all in all I can totally recommend this hotel!

The hotel is located on a very difficult hill of access especially if you have young children. You have to do some sports to climb the coast on foot to reach the hotel.
Very nice swimming pool with a small bar that offers cocktails at a reasonable price. The breakfast is very full and delicious, the hotel is beautiful, wooded and very clean. The very friendly and smiling staff and the design of the spacious rooms.
Pros about the Novotel Phuket Kata Avista Resort & Spa
Walking distance to restaurants, shops, and Kata Yai Beach
Free shuttle service to the beach (or a five-minute walk)
Spacious rooms with private balconies
Attractive, contemporary design throughout hotel
Two pools, one with a swim-up bar
Public spaces include a library and game room
Attractive, cozy spa
The best hotel staff very professional and genuine kindness.
Rooms with breakfast only or option for Half board (breakfast / lunch or dinner) or Full board. Very good menus and excellent option. Indeed we took the Half board but you can add or change at the Hotel reception. The hotel is very accommodating to your needs.
As an Accor member, I highly recommend the Novotel Phuket Kata Avista Resort & Spa if you are looking for a quiet spot away from Phuket Patpong

Front desk staff Bow was so pleasant! What a joy. She always went the extra mile and always seemed so eager and happy to genuinely assist guys. She went out of her way to help us book rental motorbikes and even got the bikes delivered to the hotel. She's hilarious as well.
Rooms were large, comfortable, and practical, just a few critiques: The deluxe seaview family room also had the view of a really ugly rooftop from the neighbouring hotel.. not a big issue, not the hotel's fault. There was a microwave and kitchenette sink, but no dishwashing liquid or sponge provided. Closet also had no hangers. Generally great room, but housekeeping needs to focus more on cleanliness (sticky surfaces, dust, etc).
Pool and breakfast were great. Very family friendly. Pool was also very big with a great swim up bar and lying jacuzzi.
Great location near Kata Beach, but a bit of a steep climb up from the main road. Not suitable for elderly/those with mobility issues to walk by foot.

We had such an amazing stay at the Novotel Kata Avista Resort. The resort is very comfortable and the rooms are immaculate. Our room was always stocked with complementary water and towels were changed every day. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We were very impressed with the service provided. Gun was such a help on the front desk. The food in the restaurant was delicious especially breakfast with many choices on the buffet. A special mention for Din and Lai in the restaurant and bar for their exceptional service. They really looked after us, going the extra mile. Thank you so much. It made our holiday so much more special. The Thai cooking class with Chef was heaps of fun too. We were also so impressed when our son was given a chocolate cake on his 17th birthday. The hill was a killer, but the air conditioning in the room was cold once we got back. I would highly recommend this resort. Thanks for a fabulous 10 days.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks. The location is perfectly situated on a hill in a quiet street, unlike some of the other busier hotels, so we had a very peaceful nights sleep. We have a daughter with a severe gluten allergy, this hotel was able to provide us with specific catered meals from their en vogue restaurant during our entire stay, which gave us confidence as we already had a visit to the hospital in ICU due to another restaurant outside of this hotel premises. The chef (Mariz) was very patient, understanding, and took responsibility for the kitchen the entire team. The General Manager (Massimo) personally greeted us and can be seen around the hotel floor helping the team out. A special mention to Ing, Lai, Pueng and Add for going over and beyond with our family and all other guests to ensure all our needs were met. They were very personable and approachable, and nothing was ever too hard for them to accomplish.
The hotel pool and kids club are worth a mention as we spent many hours in these areas. The only negative comment is that the restaurant was a bit pricey, considering the prices you can expect to pay outside the hitel. Nonetheless, the food was nice. Great work team, hope to be back in the future.

No there is normal power output for 220 w but No USB in the room.
Our family room had two queen beds in it. I didn’t see any other configurations.
Beaches at Kata and Karon are beautiful with shallow tapers, ideal swimming. Guards are on duty but they are long Beaches and not too many Guards. Jet ski's, Parra sailing, and other activities. Snorkelling is probably best done by guided tours. We did an Island trip which had Snorkelling included.
Taxi or Grabcar.
For dinner, entree is a buffet selection of things like chicken nuggets and fruit platters. Lunch had an entree menu instead (delicious spring rolls on there).
Dinner had a few noodle dishes like phad thai, some curries with rice, some burgers and pizzas.
A decent mix of east and west, and a mix of spicy and mild. But after a few days we were a bit over it and mostly ate out. Lots of great options in Kata.
