Detailed Reviews
We just spent 6 nights at Sis Kata Resort. The staff were super friendly especially Nut who was always super helpful. They have a buffet and unlimited drinks package at the pool every Saturday between 6-9pm for 1000 baht ($50 AUD per person) which includes cocktails! We found this was great value and wish they did this every night 😊
The view was great from the pool also.
Food from the restaurant for lunch and dinner menu I found was a bit average but the buffet breakfast was excellent every morning. The location was great, in Kata Noi which is only a 5 minute walk from Kata beach (bit of a hill though) and only a 3 minute walk from mini markets and other restaurants.
Definitely a great hotel for couples or families and I would recommend staying here.

In our first vacation in Thailand, we had the opportunity to stay in this hotel for 12 nights. I can say that everything was perfect, the rooms were cleaned daily, the bed was huge and comfortable, the shower and the toilet were in different areas, the personal care area was equipped with strong enough lights, the air conditioning was quite strong, free wifi, a large balcony with a beautiful view and equipped with a small table and 2 chairs. They also have a Spa and massage salon, very clean and nice designed. Very kind and smiling staff, breakfast adapted to all tastes, and the menu and food in this hotel are very good, beautifully displayed and very tasty. The hotel itself is very nicely arranged with 2 swimming pools, one of them being on the top floor with a superb view and with a bar included where you could serve a cold drink, the other one on a lower floor, much more discreet and nice. The hotel is located near the shops and restaurants of the resort, 5 minutes away from Kata beach and other beaches 15-20 minutes walk. We would like to thank the employees and staff who made us have a nice vacation and leave satisfied and with a recommendation for all those interested. Stay in Style ❤️

Never going back, my husband & I traveld trough Thailand and this hotel was definitely the worst.
The hotel at herself is beautiful but the staff isn’t nice at all, when we arrived after a long travel the woman behind the desk couldn’t even said hello, she wants to have our pasport & documentations and we need to sit down.
We had no idea what was going on and is would have been nice that she gave us a warm welcome.
It has been our honeymoon so a little bit of kindness would have been nice.
The pool is okay but the music that their were playing there is so loud that you couldn’t speak to eachother even when you were sitting next to eachother.
Our plane was leaving in the late evening so we asked if we could get a late check out, the same lady as we saw in the beginning said she would check it for us and the awsner was no. There were new guests arriving at 12:00. Since we have vision of our room at the pool we could see that there was no one in our room, no new guests at all. Even at 21:00 there was no guest so the question is why the won’t let to keep our room, we would have to pay for it if that was necessary. We’ll, we could make use of the showerroom. It only has a shower, you could not change your clothes, leave your belongings of whatever, there were lockers but their were out of use; there is no mirror so you can do your hair or make up, there is no power. When I make a complain about it at the staff the lady at the desk apologizes and she said that if we’ve asked her she could arrange an other room for us, because i said I found it strange that we couldn’t hold our room….
I do find it ridiculous that at first we couldn’t hold our room because there were new guests, second, that we had to use a showerroom that has nothing further. Third; there were no new guests at our room, fourth; we could have get another basic room….. Fifth, the staff isn’t even nice.
Well, the housekeeping, those people are really nice & working really hard. I give my compliments to them.

Dear Relax, Thank you for your taking time to on Trip Advisor We are sorry that we did not meet up to your expectations during your stay. In regards to the late check out, we have traced your booking and as per international standards check out time is 12 midday and in the case occupancy allows we would offer the chance to purchase a late check out (until 18.00hrs) either via our website or directly from Reception. The other option which many guests take advantage of when they have an very late flight is to be add on the another day into their booking which allows you to check out at anytime. On floor 4, we have a shower/changing room with lockers (keys at Reception) which are there for guests to use if they so wish free of charge plus the air conditioned reading room as a an area to wait for airport transportation if so wished. In regards to the arrival guests, they are booked in as of 14.00hrs and in this case the arriving guests had advised 14.00hrs arrival time, however as they were traveling from Bangkok they had their flights changed and arrived later in the evening hence the room was empty as you mention. Housekeeping teams are on tight time frames to turnaround guest rooms for new arrivals therefore check out remains at 12 midday in order to achieve a 14.00hrs turn around completion time. Thank you for your comments re our Housekeeping team for which we have passed onto them. Thank you again for your comments. Sincerely Matt C Hindmarch Director of Hotel & Resorts AKSARA Collection

Having travelled the world and stayed in average to high end hotels I would say this is average at best.
Starting with the room which is a poor design - the open plan shower and toilet, very limited space to hang clothes and put suitcases away. The bed is in the wrong position, placed in the centre of the room rather against a wall (although on a plus the bed is comfortable). Whoever designed this hotel was focussing more on a modern/funky look rather than taking into consideration the needs of individuals on vacation.
Breakfast is below average, food is tasteless and the tea /coffee looks and taste awful.
Pool area very few sun beds and only one pool towel given per person per room, a small towel which covers less than half of the sun bed.
Pool towels also stained which is rather off putting. On check in you have to provide a 2000 baht deposit for the towel!! Very unusual behaviour for a hotel of this star - it’s more on par to a 3/2 star behaviour.
Too much emphasis on the outside dining area which is sporadically utilised. This could be changed to providing extra sun beds for guests.
No toilet by the pool so having to head to the lower floor. Some areas showing signs of wear even though the hotel is not that old.
Such a shame as this hotel could be amazing with a number of changes.

Sawasdee krab! Thank you very much for your taking the time to post here on Trip Advisor. In regards to the deposit upon arrival please accept our apologies as there must have been some kind of misunderstanding. As is internationally accepted, guest are asked for a deposit upon arrival, however guests can sign restaurant bills, spa bills and so on to their room account and that is offset by the deposit. We do not take the deposit just for pool towels. We do hope that we are able to welcome you back again soon and thank you for choosing The SIS Kata. The check in and check out process was very smooth and painless. We had a beautiful room with a huge bed and jacuzzi on the patio. Everything worked well - fridge, TV, Wi-Fi, jacuzzi, kettle etc. There was a huge number of switches for all the available lighting options in the room and our patio light appeared to have an electrical issue as it randomly came on for a few seconds at a time. Sometimes there's merit is simply having a big, round LED light in the middle of the room. The pool is beautiful and we often had the pool to ourselves. The steps into the pool were easy to manage and the rail made life easier. The restaurant was spacious with good air flow. The evening meals were good and the staff attentive to our requests. The breakfasts were exceptional with a wide variety of food and drinks available. But the SIS Kata is on a very very steep road and taxis would often lose traction trying to enter the driveway. I recommend the use of the shuttles to go down and up from Kata beach as the walk would be a struggle for many. To access reception, the SIS Kata has steps and a ramp for wheelchair access. I recommend that they install a hand rail in the centre of the steps to help people ascend and descend safely while carrying luggage.

We do hope that we are able to welcome you back again soon and thank you for choosing The SIS Kata. In regards to the wheelchair access, the ramp as you mention is on the right handside of the lobby entrance and usually our Bell team would use this also for luggage collection and delivery to compensate the lack of a handrail on the main entrance steps. With best regards from all the team and thanks again for taking the time to post. The SIS Care Team.

The surrounding in hotel is perfect. Staff were helpful and service was nice.
I stayed in The SIS for one night and reserved the room of Superior Jacuzzi.
The design of the room is fantastic, but it is better to add a light in the bathroom and toilet, not bright enough. One more thing, the water in the Jacuzzi outside the room was a bit too cold.

When we arrived it was good and the service was fine but remember to have 2000baht in cash because that is what you have to deposit when you check in. Our room that we got was terrible because it was very dirty inside and toilet and shower and everything. It was even sand on the table in front of the TV and also dust and someone’s hair on the floor. We did complain to the reception and she came there and took picture and then she said that they can clean it again and they said that there is no other room available. We came back to the room after a while and it was cleaned according to them but it was in almost the same condition as before. The only thing they cleaned was the water tap in the sink because it was some white stain on it. Then we complained again and then we could talk with the manager and he said that he will get another room for us and also check it and clean it before we get it. And he fixed another room for us and it took maybe 2-3 hours and then we came back to the hotel and he showed us the new room and it was much better. Very nice manager and he was very sorry for this also and he really wanted to help. Unfortunately I don’t remember his name but he was very kind and service minded. The breakfast was okey I would say and nothing special in that way but one thing is that there is this birds flying around everywhere and if you leave the table and you have some food there still the birds will go there and eat and the staff will not do anything unfortunately. The lunch is average and you pay to much for it. The dinner I can not say anything about because we only did eat breakfast there and lunch once. The drinks are good if you order in the bar inside but if you order drinks from the pool bar and there is this guy with glasses and he seems quite confused then I recommend to order somewhere else because he has no clue of what he is doing. He was very funny and service minded but he could not make drink’s unfortunately. The location of the hotel is quite okey I would say but the hill up to the hotel is not so nice but it is good training if you think of it that way.

Sawasdee krab! Thank you very much for taking the time to post here on Trip Advisor Once again please accept my personal apologies for the guest room issues, but pleased that we could sort it out for you. Our FB team are currently on some training courses so hopefully we will see some improvements very soon. This year as with many hotels, the newly recruited staff are 'fresh' into the industry and continualy training is needed. Sadly with the birds, there is not alot we can do as the restaurant is open air and they fly as they wish, however Chef Yha does cover food stuffs as much as we can and request that guests dont feed the birds too which we hope discourages them too. We do hope that we are able to welcome you back again soon and thank you for choosing The SIS Kata. With best regards from all the team and thanks again for taking the time to post. Came to Phuket for a quick surf trip and was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality. Warm smiles and genuine greetings will meet you across the whole property.
The expansive view of Kata beach from the all day dining is mesmerizing and a good view point. The breakfast was suitable, altho I’d wish for more fish deli options. Service at breakfast was helpful and remembered my coffee preference.
Justin was a great guy at front desk, impeccable service. He helped me call a clinic and find a pharmacy for my jellyfish sting as well as prepare apple cider vinegar. The other ladies at front desk were sweet as well.
Phuket is a friendly city and the sis captures the spirit effortlessly. I will be back often.
