I stayed 1 nigth at The SIS on Aug 2022. Hotel is very clean and service was impressive. Studio room I stayed was spacious and stylish. Pool on rooftop is the best to relax and enjoy stuning view of Kata beach. I went to Kata beach for surf lesson. It was so fun. Hotel provided discounted rate for me.
LOCATION Great views and sunset from here. Would recommend having a car or motorbike if you plan on coming and going a lot as the hotel is up the mountain on a steep road. Down the hill from the hotel you have a family mart and Kata beach is not too far away. ROOM The room is airy and spacious. Shower and WC are separate and the sink is in the open but there’s a curtain to close off the “getting-ready area” from the rest of the room for privacy. Bed comfort is heavenly if you like to sink in and the king size bed is absolutely massive. Lots of light sources for the desired ambience. Cleanliness needs to be improved, floors were sticky and stained with dirt and sink area hadn’t been properly scrubbed. We moved rooms once (upgraded) and noticed a huge difference in cleanliness. FOOD Good-quality breakfast with decent variety. We had conflicting experiences when dining at the restaurant in the evening; our first time we asked for vegetarian options, staff were puzzled and told us it wasn’t possible to get anything vegetarian. The second time we simply ordered from the menu but asked to remove animal products from the dish and it was no problem. SERVICE Service is very basic—no more, no less. Considering the hotel was quiet during our stay, we expected staff to be extra attentive to the small number of guest but felt that this was lacking greatly. GENERAL The hotel is super stylish, modern, and well-designed. Lots of greenery and textures around, makes for great photo opportunities. There are a few flight of stairs around the premises so it might not be suitable for elderly or disabled.…
A truly magnificent property. It's about the view! Great sunsets from your balcony or the sunset bar. The rooms are well equiped with an expresso machine and bluetooth speaker. There's even an outdoor jacuzi. The bed is extra comfortable. Staff are wonderful, always ready to help you. The almost all day happy hour is huge bonus. It is cheaper to drink from the sunset bar than going outside the hotel.
We have stayed at the SIS before, the food and property are outstanding. However, the service has hit rock bottom. The majority of the staff is not friendly, although there are some exceptions. The rooms are great, but the poor service makes you feel cheated the way you are treated by the staff. I won’t stay here again. I’ve been to over 25 countries and this has been some of the worst service I’ve experienced in the world. For example, I came down to wait for a taxi after a long day and even before I was greeted, I was hit with a flurry of questions i.e What is your room number? Are you a guest here? A slap in the face after spending hundreds of dollars over the past couple of days at their hotel. An adjustment to the tone on how they address guests would go a long way.
2nd times here First time was so happy but this time very disappointed with poor service mind of Manager who’s not on duty. I love the room and everything but not their words. Have a BAD smell in the room changed 3rooms still same. The manager (on the phone she’s not there in that day) name Ae(I saw on sup phone) She said can’t upgrade to the other room type “If you don’t want to pay for upgrade pls wait in some other room and I will let ENG to clean up the air con” …. “IF YOU DON’T WANT TO PAY FOR UPGRADE” this is not good. Very bad. I travelled a lot never met any manager so rude like this I paid for what I should get but after get in the room it’s smell like “pee” 3 rooms still the same cause it same building. I’ve arrived 3pm change the room 3times until the last one at 5pm still have bad smell but better than previous. Super tried with this I’ve give up don’t want to do anything only want to sleep One bad thing that the manager said “Even GM can’t upgrade or do anything for me” …. So I have to sleep in the room smell pee whole night. Surprise me that GM can’t do anything. Wow…. One star wanna give to “Hotel view” And Khun Pream Khun Nam(SUP the one who handle this better than the manager) also Khun Leo(I’m not sure I’m correct or not but he’s bellman) Even this hotel have a nice view and beautiful room but bad smell. The worst things is the bad words from manager make me so upset and won’t go back for the 3rd time also not recommend to anyone who wanna traveling with good service.…
Interesting design, but very average breakfast and quality. Better options in Kata and Karon. Pool is nice, but safety concerns for kids. Food quality was average. Better options available in the nearby surrounding area.
The room, view and service is quite good, except air conditioner which is not in a good condition. I and my friends did not sleep well. We woke up almost all night because of uncomfortable night. Please improve.
There are two pairs of Flipflops inside wardrobe with no price and charging information. They were set together with beach bags which is complimented to use during stay and other stuff such as bathrobe. So we unpack to see if could be fit or not But, don’t use it because to big and we was surprised on checking out that it were changed to us even don’t use them. This service such a disappointing ever seen. We pay with out complaints but, they should put information about charging or price on the item you will charge in the room.
Infinity pool view is just captivating! The breakfast is served on the same floor as the pool, so you can start your day with this amazing view. Breakfast is good, a lot of Thai and European food. 2 swimming pools, so they are never crowded. The hotel is close to the beach, so we always had an option to choose between pool and beach. Try out the Hight Tea option - the highlight of our stay!
The check in and check out process was very smooth and painless. We had a beautiful room with a huge bed and jacuzzi on the patio. Everything worked well - fridge, TV, Wi-Fi, jacuzzi, kettle etc. There was a huge number of switches for all the available lighting options in the room and our patio light appeared to have an electrical issue as it randomly came on for a few seconds at a time. Sometimes there's merit is simply having a big, round LED light in the middle of the room. The pool is beautiful and we often had the pool to ourselves. The steps into the pool were easy to manage and the rail made life easier. The restaurant was spacious with good air flow. The evening meals were good and the staff attentive to our requests. The breakfasts were exceptional with a wide variety of food and drinks available. But the SIS Kata is on a very very steep road and taxis would often lose traction trying to enter the driveway. I recommend the use of the shuttles to go down and up from Kata beach as the walk would be a struggle for many. To access reception, the SIS Kata has steps and a ramp for wheelchair access. I recommend that they install a hand rail in the centre of the steps to help people ascend and descend safely while carrying luggage.…
