We stayed for 4 nights, and the front office team is excellent! Thank you Julie for the reservation and the service recovery , thank you Kwan and Jan and especially Paul for his hospitality and English proficiency. They provided my wife with an excellent birthday surprise.
Room that we got was big enough since we’re from Hong Kong, balcony overlooking the sea(thx for the arrangement) and the bath is gigantic.
Location wise it’s close to eat-out area with a lot of cheap options, the bar on 7/F for some reason is very very very quiet with only 1-2 customers inside.
The bonus point is there’re two black cats who’re extremely friendly and needy right outside of the reception, we kept buying can food to feed them and they had no problems with you petting them at all.
We didn’t try the swimming pool as kata beach is just 5 minutes away.
If you wanna go for tours, I’d suggest to go for Klook instead of booking it via the leaflets in the lobby. It’s just much cheaper.
If you are going to book a room here, try to book directly through them, just send an email and ask, it’s a little bit more expensive but the package includes a bit more than you expected. I work in front office in a hotel, and I personally will treat the guests who booked directly via us much better than the guests who booked via agency.
We will be back if we ever go back to Kata, strange that Kata is a Russian paradise.

We originally booked a 7 night stay, but we enjoyed the hotel and area so much we ended up staying for a month. Our time in the hotel we had 2 different room styles, a Grand Deluxe and a Jacuzzi room. Both rooms were spacious with comfortable beds. The Grand Deluxe room was in the top building which is a bit of a walk but we didnt mind because the views were worth it. You also get a daily free mini bar of 2 waters, a chang can, an orange juice box and a pepsi. Location is great, minutes walk to the beach, restaurants, mini marts and massages (yes you have to walk up a hill on the way back to the hotel but its less than 1 minute uphill) Beautiful pools though we were so close to the beach, we hardly used the pools. The staff are lovely, and though some are trainees with limited English, they still do their best to help with any matters that need attending to.
We had some very small issues during our stay with things like wifi or a light bulb blown but the staff were quick to fix any problems if you make them aware and ask kindly for help.
We would happily stay again and recommend to others to do the same.

We could not be happier staying at Sugar Palm Resort. It was very good value for money. The staff was extremely helpful, always smiling. The location of hotel is very central close to the beach. Cleaning was done everyday, fridge supplied with water, beer and juice. Rooms are large, there are also nice pools and gym, if one wants to use. We would like to highlight hotel breakfast which were very tasty but especially July's team who made us our mornings better with their care and perfect service. We may only recommend!

This hotel is a run-down place where even at covid pricing they still overcharge on what they offer.
I was forced to leave the hotel after staying for just about 1 hour as I instantly regretted booking here:
From the floors to the walls to the ceilings to the bathroom... everything was old, dirty, and run down. The aircon sounded like it was about to die with squeaky loud noises.
As a frequent visitor to Phuket & Kata Beach, you can find 10x better accommodation for cheaper than what this place wants to charge.
Perhaps due to Covid the owner decided to just let it all go to waste, I have no doubt that at one point it was a great place.. .but that's 10 years ago. Today you are warned NOT to stay there.

Sugar Palm Grand Hillside was a lovely hotel. Fantastic size rooms with balcony with great views.
We stayed at the very top, which meant we had some spectacular views of the city, the sea, the mountains and the big Buddha. The only downside to this was that it was a bit of a hike to get there. There are 2 lifts available but these only took you so far before having to climb up several more steps / ramps. They do have golf carts available to take you up and down should you wish.
The rooms were attended to daily with fresh towels given but more detail could have been given with other toiletries being replenished more often and more care given on wiping things down.
The staff were very pleasant, always polite and service with a smile.
The hotel is up a steep road and can be quite challenging to get to but there are also steps which lead to the lobby which we found a lot easier. The swimming pools were a very welcome facility especially during and after a long day in the heat, great way to cool down.
Breakfast was included, a good selection of cooked foods, fruits, pastries and cereals.
7th Heaven Sky Bar is a lovely little gem, with exceptional views across kata. This place didn’t seem to get loads people visiting, but in my opinion definitely worth having a cocktail or 2.
Great location, only 200m from the beach, and a stones throw away from the shops, restaurants and markets. Definitely plenty to see on your doorstep.
Overall happy with our stay here and would recommend providing you don’t have any mobility problems.

Very nice hotel. The location is less than 5 minutes from the beach. We were able to sleep without problems. The room is very well equipped, very pretty and very large with swimming pool access... We had breakfast very well supplied and we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff are very competent and very kind. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return there on my next trip to Thailand.

We had our amazing semestral break because of our stay in this hotel. As a second timer I can say that you the people here are very consistent in giving good service to their guests. We had amazing breakfast, stayed in spacious, clean and pool access pool. The hotel is located near the beach and they have sky bar with great view of Kata Beach. Everyone was very thoughtful and caring to insure we enjoy our stay. Maam Julie was very helful in making reservations for us. I highly recommend this place.

I really enjoyed my vacation and the hotel contributed to it 👍🏻 The hotel is very quiet, soundproofing is good! You can’t hear the slamming of doors, cleaning carts, neighbors, etc. The hotel is in a good location, there is a whole jungle nearby, a small observation deck, which you can climb along the road next to the hotel. There is a big tree and a house of spirits ❤️very atmospheric! The beach is very close, you can walk to Kata, Kata Noi and Karon in not very long. All the cafes are nearby, the market where we always ate. Large bed in the room, the room itself is large. We had access to the pool, unfortunately the pool was dirty and was not cleaned 😢 It was not very pleasant to swim there and the water was cold. The room had a huge bathroom and shower 👍🏻there were never any problems with water. Cleaned well, except for the toilet. It wasn't washed thoroughly and there was a smell. Breakfast is excellent, large selection. And fruits and pastries and a full-fledged hot meal, coffee that was brewed, a coffee machine, juices Overall, we were very pleased with our choice of hotel. We actually only booked for one week, but since we liked the hotel so much we stayed there for 3 weeks. The hotel is only 5 min walk from kata beach, so from the terrace there, which everyone can use, you have a beautiful view of the sea and the sunset. Breakfast in the morning was also always delicious and every morning our tea was already ready thanks for that to all the staff especially to July and Kong. In addition, the rooms are also clean as they are cleaned every day, also a thank you to the staff there. My husband and I enjoyed the 3 weeks very much and looking forward for the next time.

But the hotel is great - big,clean and comfortable room, big bathtub and nice swimming pool,amazing beach view, fantastic breakfast buffet and the serving staff were friendly, Great location, close to Kata, to get there we rented a car on the Orange Car Phuket. To me, breakfast was definitely not worth the extra charge, but I really just wanted a couple of cups of coffee. For big breakfast eaters or people who really value the convenience, I could see it. Some room rates may include breakfast? Have a beautiful stay!
