Stayed at the firs for two nights staff friendly room clean nice breakfast. Down points could do with refurbishing quite old fashioned, had dog barking in one of the rooms near ours which kept barking. Was pleasant stay but don't think we would choose to go back.

We had a beautiful weekend at the firs for our wedding. Mandy the owner did everything she could for us and more. We booked all the rooms for the full weekend and all our guests enjoyed the hotel. The breakfast was amazing!!! If you like a large, good quality breakfast this is the place to stay. The rooms were immaculate... More

Have just returned from a 3 night break in Runswick staying at the Firs. This is a lovely guest house, very clean and friendly. Excellent breakfast choice. All food is fresh and freshly made to order. Homemade jams are delicious. Lovely touch with providing cakes and sweet in the bedrooms. Location is good for walking and the bus route into... More

I stayed here between the 21st and 24th of May 2016 with my wife and daughter. The family and staff that ran the place were very hospitable and helpful. The room was very clean and in excellent condition. Very good breakfast too! We really enjoyed our stay!! 😊 Dileep M

They claim to be VERY dog friendly but expect you to leave your dog in the car while you have breakfast. We didn't actually stay because of this and we don't consider this to be a dog friendly attitude. We've stayed in lots of dog friendly b&b's and have never been asked to do this.

Runswick Bay is a long way from nearly anywhere, or so it seems when you've walked there along the coast. It's a pretty little village nestled in the coastline. The Firs is at the top of the hill and very conveniently placed for the Cleveland way. The place itself was clean and comfortable with plenty of room. I'm not sure... More

We chose this guest house as it was dog friendly and near the beach which allows dogs on all year round. On arrival we were upgraded to a beautiful room with a 4 poster and huge bathroom. There was fresh milk in the fridge and some cakes which were lovely. As well as a kettle there was a coffee machine-which... More

After enjoying a weekend break in Scarborough we wanted to extend our visit but the hotel we were in was booked up so although this was a last minute booking it was also an amazing find! Bedroom was lovely with room for 4 of us. Tea that tasted nice and homemade cake! Little extras in the bathroom of shampoo, body... More

Came to the area for an easter break as a family of 4 moving over to the firs after a very dissappointing experience at the grand....so glad we did! A fantastic, friendly place with lovely staff, a great room with everything you could want and the friendliest big white cat that my little ones loved! The breakfast was fantastic with... More
