We've stayed in canelle room for two nights. Lovely, spacious room, very clean and comfortable. No air con but it does have fan. I visited many places in France and most don't have air con. Small pool but the cleanest we've come across in France. Please note, it's not heated, again, most pools in France are not. Our relaxing time... More

This accommodation is almost all new build with very little charm. The rooms in which we and our four traveling companions stayed surround a parking lot. Although our booking said that our room was air-conditioned, it was not. When we brought our booking confirmation to the attention of the proprietor, she said "that is a problem with your booking" and... More

This restaurants settimg is just beautiful. The dinner we had here was the best we had had over a 2 week holiday in France. The choices of flavours on one plate just went together. Quite amazing. I would never of had the courage ( nor skill) but it was just beautiful. Great wine selection. The chef and his wife were... More

Relatively close to the wonderful town of Amboise this is a good stay if touring the Loire valley. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and stylishly furnished in provincial style. The food is wonderful and there is an impressive wine list. The owners are very welcoming and the restaurant is well designed to give an intimate feel. The only down side... More

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on our cycling holiday . It is a modern conversion of a old hotel. We had a spacious modern room . We were on the gourmet menu which was delicious. . We were welcomed by the hard working owner and cairn terrier.

The hotel is well situated in the centre of France and you could use it as a base to visit the surrounding chateau or for a stopover for a longer road trip which is what we did. It has a gourmet restaurant with a well thought out menu and good wine list making it rather a cut above the average... More

This hotel is not what it seems. A lot of stuff are not adapted for the price and the 4 stars. Here are my points: 1. The room was incredibly smelly when we arrived (cigarette). The hotel owner knew it but pretexted a Spanish couple recently responsible for it. The fact is the room is totally impregnated with cigarette smoke... More

“Don't be surprised if you book one of the cheaper rooms and then find you haven't got one of the 'nice' rooms shown on the hotel's website - the sort of investment L'Aubiniere has made in the new spa suite/wing means rooms in the new part will be at the top-end of the advertised price range.”
