We stayed in May as part of celebrating a milestone birthday and our anniversary which they knew. They didn't acknowledge whatsoever. The place is charming but the management sterile. The accommodations are comfortable and the property lovely but the lack of warmth and welcome will have us looking elsewhere when we return to the Loire Valley.

Quite old dated and not too much maintained. Food & beverages are so so and very expensive, with limited choice. Rooms are well furnished and quiet. Good comfort. Not very lively (no fire wood or whatever). Worth a better overall animation.

We stayed four nights here. We loved the atmosphere of the hotel and the beautiful grounds. We rented the hotel bikes during the days and rode for miles and miles. We had dinner the first night; multi courses and very high end. The one drawback to this location was there were no other restaurants nearby (we did not have a... More

Dear Talkeetnanurse, We are so pleased to read your nice feedback from your stay. We stayed in this hotel for one night while doing the "castles route" and we do not recommend to other tourists. Rooms are fine and the castle is beautiful, but staff is a bit arrogant and if you arrive in a Porsche they won't treat the same way. Breakfast is poor and when asking for some scrambled eggs, SURPRISE: 10,50€... More

Stayed for 2 nights. The rooms (we looked at 2) were very tired looking for 395 euros per night charged and normally experience at a Chateau in this price range. The service/staff seemed disjointed, they were polite and courteous but lacked the high end efficiency and training. The evening dinner staff were glum which affects the dining experience. A good General... More

We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our stay overall. The staff were friendly. The rooms were very spacious, very old world and very comfortable. Maybe a bit tired and in need of some brightening. The grounds were lovely, the pool very welcome. The restaurant was an absolute disappointment. The food was over worked, too much going on, on... Underwhelming stay. Tired furnishings, inelegant pool surrounded by bushes in need of trimming. Front entry is lovely, but after that, it goes downhill. Breakfast and dinner were abysmal. Overpriced and not good at all. Relais and Chateaux chains should not have surly waitstaff who deliver incorrect orders, then roll their eyes. Mon Dieu! Full breakfast with eggs is 40 euros.... We spent just one night here and liked the hotel - elegant old chateau, traditional in a positive way both in terms of decor and service. Our room was certainly comfortable, though to be honest it could really do with some modernisation. Reasonable accommodation prices, we thought. A formal dining experience but at a cost considerably higher than the food... More

Our stay was for 4 nights. Lovely chateau on the outside, but found the rooms a bit tired. The hotel is clearly loved by it's owner, so the care is there. Very small hotel staff, and they seemed quite overworked. The garden is nice, and the pool itself was very enjoyable although the pool area was quite mediocre. We had... More
