Stayed two nights, for a wedding at the Aynho stately home opposite (what a splendid building, interior, and reception!). Building is a pretty English village coaching house style, room nice and individual but slightly out of date in decor (1980s style?), curiously our 1st floor room had no door between bathroom/toilet and the main room (some guests might like a... We had Sunday Lunch at the Cartwright Hotel and everything from the food, to the ambience and the service was all decidedly average. so not a bad experience but nothing to make us particularly want to return again. There was adequate parking, however disabled access to the restaurant was challenging (our daughter was in a wheelchair) Our option was either... More

We stayed here for two nights along with other guests before and after our daughters wedding. The rating of three star sums up the hotel and its furnishings adequately. But the service that we received from Caroline and her staff was way beyond anything that we could have expected and nothing was to much trouble and easily merited the 7... More

Hotel staff make a hotel and these people were the best. All of them made us feel most welcome from the start and we had a lovely stay. Breakfast was superb and freshly cooked to order and the meals in the restaurant were excellent. We were upgraded to a suite but the smaller rooms are lovely and cosy too. The... More

Recently used this hotel as an off-site meeting facility. Booked via phoning up a week back and Caroline was very helpful in securing the meeting room and providing ancillary services such as coffee on arrival, lunch in the room we were using (although there is a very good restaurant attached that I have used in the past). Staff were very... More

This is an above average 3 star hotel that is made exceptional by the professionalism and enthusiasm of the staff so ably lead by the general manager Caroline. She went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible Thanks Caroline

We have just returned from a 2 night break which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our room (no. 5) was comfortable, clean and well appointed. The food was good in general and breakfast in particular was excellent. All the staff were a pleasure to speak with in addition to being efficient and helpful. We really felt very welcome and that they were... More

I stayed earlier this week with my partner, and am so glad we opted for here rather than the usual 'budget' travelodge we would normally stay in if we are only away for one night. The room was a touch small but we didn't spend much time in there, so it didn't really matter to us. The bed was comfortable... More

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at The Cartwright.. Firstly when reviewing the Hotel one must take into account that this was a coaching inn. It has been converted in a sympathetic and comfortable style and has retained a feeling of its Old World Charm. On arrival we were greeted at reception by Caroline Parkes ( Sales... More
