This is a very pretty old building on the main road that passes through Aynho. The double room we had for just one night was spacious and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was also spacious. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel, food was average and so was the service. Would stay here again but I think they do need... More

Roast pork for Sunday lunch Staff were lovely and the starter was nice but the main course very disappointing. The plates were hotter than the food!. Roasties too hard to cut and the apple sauce was just tinned apple slices.

I asked our manager Caroline to investigate and she seems to have good recall - "You had booked table for 4 for your husband's birthday lunch. You telephoned in the morning to say your friends were unwell and therefore lunch would just be for 2 persons. Scott, our waiter took your order, lady was gluten free, so no gravy or... More

Solid gammon steak with juicy onion rings and good chunky chips. Pleasant village with lots of beautiful Cotswold stones. This place was a godsend for two hungry travellers returning to London on a Sunday night in a county where people don't appear to have appetites after 1430 on the day of rest. Would have probably settled for a panini or... More

We didn't stay here, but I thought that I'd review the service that we experienced whilst passing through on a motorcycle trip to Oxfordshire. It was Sunday lunchtime and I was getting hungry as I approached Banbury on the way to Bicester, and having traveled through Aynho over many years in the past was aware of this establishment (45 years... Reserved a dozen rooms for guests of our wedding. Manager was very friendly and attentive, making sure all our needs were met. Our group were given tea and scones on arrival, and breakfast each morning. Rooms were nice, although very variable. Some definitely nicer/larger than others. Some were also slightly better equipped. Not really a problem for us but maybe... More

The RESTAURANT at the Cartwright Hotel is somewhere that you really should visit. The hotel is only listed on Tripadvisor as a hotel - there are no restaurant reviews per se. I took my mother-in-law and my wife there for lunch and we were amazed how good it was. I made a telephone booking the night before and mentioned that... More

Was put up here by my work as had a two day meeting nearby. The room was in an old courtyard which was an interesting and nice change, i'm guessing the place used to be stables and was converted into a hotel? The room was quite big and had everything i needed including a very large bed and free wi-fi.... More

Only stayed there for 1 night as we had to attend an event nearby. There staff is very friendly but our "premier" room was outdated, looked rather depressing, and the bathroom was as basic as they could possibly be. If that is a premier room I dread to think what a standard room must look like. We wouldn't mind it... More

Stayed 2 nights for a team building event. The hospitality was very good, bedroom was very comfortable and Breakfast and Dinner well catered. We used the Apricot room over the 3 days and it was a perfect space for us. All of the staff in the bar, reception and kitchen were very good, especially given we were a largish group

Arrived tired and looking forward to a hot tub! Allocated room not made up so asked to wait and would we like a drink or tea? Very shortly a new room was available, and an upgrade. Very large room and big comfy bed. Later, after an excellent dinner, offered a night-cap "on the house" because of the room issue. What... More
