This experience was one of the best in my life. If I could give an advice it would be to stay more than one month. There are too many activities we would like to do twice (bush walk…tracking…) and we don’t have time in one month.
Future volunteers: if you decide to come to Askar

Its difficult to summarise Askari and write something that hasn't already been written, but I will try!

From arrival every member of staff I met were friendly and helpfiul, to Katie and Robbie in particular, they had my life in their hands and not once did I question my safety

My stay at Askari WCP was amazing! I learned a lot and had lots of fun. We had a very nice group; helped each other and bonded fast! Katie and Robbie combined their expertise with lots of fun. I think that’s very important during a stay/project like this. We did a lot of differen

"We loved our 4 weeks at Askari. Every day was an adventure and new animals were sighted every day. What we learnt while there is incredible, and far more rewarding than just being on holiday. It is fantastic to know that we have contributed in a little way to making Askari a su

This looks like a great opportunity to explore the wildlife and observe it closely. I am a wildlife enthusiast but have never volunteered. I got familiar to this concept of volunteering through a platform named Hippohelp. I am really looking forward to do this.

Hi. I would like to know about this program for me and my husband. My name is Priscilla and we stay in Gauteng.
"Only 1 bedroom with double bed, all others are shared with mosquito net provided and lots of storage space"
"Best house ever"
"This is a volunteer program, with shared accommodation in a roomy house in a beautiful garden setting."
"Being a hardened Irish girl I was fairly confident they don't know the meaning of 'cold' in SA. They do. If it's winter when you're visiting, bring track suit bottoms and hoodies to wrap up in in the evenings. Also, don't bother overpacking with shampoo and conditioner, as soon as you arrive in Hoedspruit you'll get the chance to go to a supermarket and pick up those essentials."
"look forward to sharing bathrooms with adorable little frogs! Each room is fantastic."
