Stayed in the community of Wilcannia for work. Visited the Wilcannia River Radio to pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of this land The Barkindji. Our first time stay was enjoyable and the community embraced us from the moment we checked in. The accommodation was clean, Shirley is a character and the township is beautiful a collection of buildings...

I stayed here on our way through for one night, and it really was an experience I will never forget. I was with my niece and my mum and I think we probably got about 10 minutes sleep the whole night. Firstly it all began when we met the lady who runs the motel, "goldilocks" and this woman will not...

We arrived late after dark having had a long drive from Sydney. We needed 2 rooms and initially were told there were no vacancies. We must have looked desperate because we were told there were 2 rooms available which hadn't been made up. We decided to take these as we didn't want to drive any further in the dark. Rooms...

My first stay at the motel. Room clean, and functional, bed ok. Walking distance from the Golf Club. Food good there. Would stay there again. There is much history in this town. Take a drive out to the Tallywalka Floodplain, back to the cemetery the other side ,and walk around the 100 year old graves, many children, as the diseases of old took many....

Was a bit doubtful after reading other reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. Service station closes a bit early, but one can eat at the Golf Club. Lady in charge was helpful. Heading east, better to stop here than travel 266 km to Cobar and arrive after dark.

Just rock up and drop your gear and head for a beer. Not much else to do, but soak up the atmosphere of this untouched rural outback area. Love the people, no trouble to say hi and no probs to give you directions. Not much there, so what can go wrong. Nice escape from the city. AND the wife.

Do not stay here. few of our friends told us not to stay here but it was to late. The whole place is run down and could do with a tidy up and lick of paint. The hand basin had been damaged but just fill it with filler. The bed. Omg it was like a waterbed/trampoline but it wasnt. The...

Do not bother stopping here. Stay at either Cobar or Broken Hill. The whole complex could do with a bit of a spruce up and it wouldn't hurt to cleaners to clean the exhaust fan in the bathroom/toilet every now and again. TV kept coming on in the middle of the night, air con was so noisy we couldn't use...

There are better places on this highway that are cheaper, although I do feel sorry for Wilcannia as it is a dying town but the motel was in need of refurbishment and the manager very vague. The toilet was a contortionists dream! It was in completely the wrong position with just six inches between the edge of the seat and...

My family stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Older style décor but the room was very clean, comfortable beds, heating/air conditioning and other basics such as tea and coffee. Shirley was very welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We felt safe staying at the motel in a community that is...
