Hotel is clean, nice. But it's the small details what set the bad experience. I payed in advance for the whole weekend including meals and wellness service. For breakfast only powder coffer was available but they offered to make normal one if I pay extra. Plenty of the groceries weren't there (ham, cheese) because they run out. Bread wasn't fresh. At that point I regretted I payed in advance. For dinner I asked the table for two but these tables were so squized that the people sitting to my right and to my left were closer than my wife sitting opposite to me. Not to mention people communing around with their luggage because only way how to get from reception to your room is through the restaurant. According to programme I payed for the dinner should be involved. It turned out that it applies only for cheap meals (meals of price less than 100,- crowns), for anything else you can get only minor discount (meal for 300,- crowns gets you discount of 70,- crowns). Again disappointing. As for wellness, there is no way you can arrange any visit times, they simply tell you when to visit what. Sauna was started only minutes before we arrived on scheduled time so it was warm and not hot. Whirlpool was good, massage was good as well, I give credit for that. Salt cave was damn joke, just empty room with sand on the floor. If I hadn't had payed in advance I would refuse to pay on the spot. To summarize, I will never ever visit this hotel ever again.…
I stayed 3 nights in the second building Villa Morris. Very nice room with a huge flat screen. Clean and very comfy. Big bathroom. But one negative thing was the closed spa&wellness area. They told me that they open it only when they are completely booked. I've paid more than 400€ for 3 nights and I think for that price I can expect an open spa&wellness area so I don't have walk to the main building.
Hotel in itself - being in a smaller town - is quite nice. The hotel sits on the main square in the middle of town and features an outdoor restaurant overlooking the square as well as an indoor "pub" style bar/restaurant and a more traditional indoor restaurant which also doubles as the breakfast room. The room was large and decently laid out and furnished. The hotel is a little strange. This in a positive sense - I like this kind of place. It is in fact several older properties built together to form the hotel. This means a lot of corners, stairwells, etc. Some rooms can be reached with the elevators - ours couldn’t. This meant a lot of carrying through cramped spaces, around corners and up stairs. No help was offered with the suitcases on either check in or check out. The reception was reasonably helpful as was the restaurant staff - and I think generally that was the problem. It took a while to get over the "reasonably" part - there was no sense of service or pleasure in what they were doing. I think that most of it comes down to language, but the end result is (with few exceptions) that I can’t say I found them helpful. The breakfast is ok - not really good, not really bad. The main problem was mostly that half the food wasn’t ready at 07:00 when they opened and once empty - like the eggs, etc. were rarely or at best slowly replenished. And I have to mention one experience that was totally out of order - the head waiter at the outdoor restaurant was menacing to say the least. He became very agitated and threatening when he had to redo a bill. I don’t often feel threatened, but in this particular situation I actually had to ask him to calm down and take a step back. Not OK anywhere in the world.…
The location of the hotel is great, amazing view over the main squear from the windown. The room for 2 with king-size bed is large, it has its own kitchen and a washing machine, but i think you have to ask for laundry detergent, and there are no pans to cook with (there is a gas stove in the room, amd a fridge). Wi-fi connection could be better, no air conditioner, the outlets that are installed into bed are broken, so we have to charge the phones on the kitchen desk. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, plus the public aquarium 500 m away. Breakfast costs 7$ per person, which is cheap.
rude and unprofessional staff. do not recommend at all. me and my wife have been expelled from almost empty restaurant by rude staff. rumours about different prices for hotel and restaurant sounds more trustworthy after ou experience
The hotel is very nice, well situated in the central square of Ceska Lipa. We were 4 girls, for a 2-night wellness stay with a voucher. The wellness center features a number of procedures, but it would be nice if they had more than just 1 type of sauna. Also there is no pool. The food in the restaurant was good, but sometimes the waiting time was long. Personally I was satisfied with the hotel and restaurant, but other people in our group were complaining about poor service etc. It could be that they treat better the customers who come and pay full price for services (not the discount voucher) - not sure. Overall it was a good stay, it is worth while to take the car and explore the nature around it, it is really beautiful (especially the Sloup castle and Na Strzi).
This "romantic" look hotel is very good. Interior is interesting and I appreciate that owners follow some this old school, but very nice design line.... staff in hotel is very helpful, very polite and very professional. Restoran in side of hotel, the same like bar inside of hotel is very good, is not the best, but very good. I will come back if I will come again in Ceska Lipa.
Although I did not stay in this hotel, went for dinner in the restaurant in this hotel with my other colleagues who were staying in the same hotel. The food was excellent, especially the tomato soup. A must try if you are in Ceska Lipa.
I have stayed at the Hotel Morris several times on business trips now and each time I was very happy with the big room, the great breakfast (I really like the fresh bread) and the delicious meals in the restaurant. It is the perfect place to relax and recover after a long working day. Unfortunately, I never found time to check the wellness area in the basement.
Even if nice historical building, very kind and professional teams, rooms by themselves are confortable but bit old fashion and not the best agenced. Quite dark rooms. Mine had view on kitchen chimney aluminium pipes.... Hotel is like labyrinth....to find your room sometimes it is quite tricky Horrible soft noisy bed.... Pure traditional czech breakfast, bread was hard like stone and no butter avalaible.... Seems that Hotel Morris is the sole one correct all around, but for 80 euros night+breakfast, a bit expensive
