Difficult to get to, and worth it! My friend was anxious driving up such a steep road with such tight turns, but we made it without incident. First, the young people that work there are absolutely amazing. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed every minute.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed our one night here. Nice cabin with a great view of the valley. Food was fine. We walked the dirt road about a couple miles to the top of a hill in the afternoon and to the same dirt road the next morning. On the morning walk we bush-wacked through

Wonderful views of forest and valleys in the distance from the cabin’s verandah, beautiful scent of trumpet flowers, great welcome by friendly staff, good meals (understandably limited choice in this remote location), simple but comfortable cabins. Not much English spoken but

Response from La Bastilla E, Manager at La Bastilla Ecolodge
Responded Sep 6, 2017
Dear we so sorry for our mistake In effect we charged 936 US Dollars for 936 cordobas we very sorry and we know this problem was extremely frustrating experience for you. Really it was not our intention All the revenue generated by the hotel is either reinvested into improving it or is used as capital for the school. In total the Ecolodge generates 70 % of the cash needed to maintain the school budget for the students. This is a Sustainable Tourism. Thank you so muc for your visit Best Regards Bastilla Ecolodge

Dear Kenneth, It's quite common to hear howlers here but it's difficult to see them due to the distance between the hotel and the mountain where they are living. Talking about our vegetarian menu for sure we have vegetarian dishes from veggie crepes to different salads, spaghetti and more. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask. Kind Regards

There were several different lengths and I believe the cost was 8-16 usd. You could contact them via email to ask. There is one hike up the mtn that is well marked so you don't need a guide for that one.
