I stayed at the oystercatcher for a night with my partner and mum. The B&B is on a lovely little square facing the beautiful Carlingford lough, backed by Kilbroney forest. The area is quiet, but less than 10 minutes walk take you into the centre of Rostrevor with its little pubs and lovely restaurants. The owners, James and Bernie are... More

The host, James, says he has opened his home as a B&B to meet interesting people. And it's the personal warmth and conversation that mark The Oystercatcher out as a place I'd recommend with a heart and a half. It's informal, relaxed, and extremely friendly. The setting is fabulous... The roof patio overlooking Carlingford Lough is perfect for sipping prosecco... More

Had a great stay, host was lovely, fantastic views and lucky to get some nice weather. Enjoyed the local music scene, the session had me singing into the small hours as you'd expect ;) I will definitely be back here to play a few more tunes with James 👍 Some top places to eat, " the church" and "the old... It was definitly a big part of why we loved it so much. Clean spacious rooms, comfortable beds, amazing breakfasts!! and most friendly, helpful host ever. Couldn't have made us feel more... More

Dog friendly.... Can't say highly enough of this great place. The memory will linger with us for years to come as will the night we stent with James the host while he played his music in the pub. The house is wonderfully located to all the amenities "the pubs, and restaurants" . The room was spacious with ensuite while reasonably... More

This venue is a very well run B&B right on the shore of Carlongford Lough. The venue offers very comfortable beds and a quirkily laid out large loft room. The shower was very powerful, with lots of warm water. The breakfast was delicious and I'm sure James (the host) wants everyone to walk out full of food for the day,... More

This is a superb B&B with that bit extra in the form of a friendly welcoming cat,Cocoa,(who basked in the warmth of our car bonnet) and freshly made smoothie at breakfast. Very helpful with advice on where to go for an evening meal and a very positive experience in all respects

James is the friendliness host. Nothing's a problem for James. We planned a early start to our day & James made us takeaway smoothies & packed sandwiches for our lunch. He tells you where the best places are to eat & keeps you laughing through your stay . The room was clean, tidy & cute. Like a home away from... More

A great place to use as a base for exploring Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Region. Very friendly owner who made me very welcome. The room was cosy and nicely furnished, with a lovely view of the sea. Lastly I really enjoyed the food and highly recommend this to anyone who would like to explore rural Ireland
