Quiet b&b. James is very friendly & welcoming. Always had a story to tell & has a great sense of humour. Breakfast was lovely and scenery lovely to. The only down side was its not very private. We had a bedroom in a house. You have to leave your room to go to the bathroom, which u don't share with... More

The view was spectacular and the amenities terrific. James Curran, the proprietor, was an excellent host and we enjoyed his conversation at his perfectly cooked breakfasts (James has a special technique for frying eggs) where we talked about his over 100 trips to London, many trips to Scotland, and Van Morrison. James has an diverse collection of books in the... More

Wonderful place! Beautiful cottage, the host was really welcoming and the rooms were a great size and really clean. Managed to get a room that sleeps 3 people which we had struggled with previously. Great spot right on the sea front. Friendly village and a 5 minute drive from the busier Warren Point. The lady that makes the breakfasts was... More

I stayed at the oystercatcher for a night with my partner and mum. The B&B is on a lovely little square facing the beautiful Carlingford lough, backed by Kilbroney forest. The area is quiet, but less than 10 minutes walk take you into the centre of Rostrevor with its little pubs and lovely restaurants. The owners, James and Bernie are... More

The host, James, says he has opened his home as a B&B to meet interesting people. And it's the personal warmth and conversation that mark The Oystercatcher out as a place I'd recommend with a heart and a half. It's informal, relaxed, and extremely friendly. The setting is fabulous... The roof patio overlooking Carlingford Lough is perfect for sipping prosecco... More
