This is an impressive resort. I stayed a at pool villa there are only 8 such units in the resort. The villa is huge and heated spring pool is quite nice. It’s a total luxury to stay solo here. The surrounding area is beautiful as I took many pictures. When the US and rest of the world are destroyed by COVID 19, I feel like I’m staying at a paradise. It’s quite costly to stay here. Regular room rate is about $900 and pool villa costs $1500. Everything such as dinning and spa is also expensive. Yet if you have the pocket, this is something you can enjoy for life.
For Chinese New Year, my wife and her family decided to visit Banyan tree resort to try out the Chinese restaurant for lunch as we thought it would be good quality dishes. We ordered a number of dishes but found the service slow and below standard for a 5 star hotel resort, the Chinese dishes were in general nice but expensive, the western menu was not great and the Club Sandwich I ordered was awful, perhaps the worst I’ve ever eaten in a hotel restaurant. Overall quite disappointing
First of all, I like very much the friendly services provided by the local staff of this Banyan Tree Resort, especially the smiles shown on their faces. In terms of facilities, the new Japanese-style hot spring is extremely great. Given the number of rooms is limited, I have enjoyed the whole indoor hot spring by myself! It’s inportant to highlight that it is free of charge to the hotel guest! While there is only one restaurant, the quality of food is excellent. They also welcomed the guest to order different kinds of breakfast. The local Chinese tea is good and the juices are very fresh. In summary, it is hghly recommended for couples and families to spend two to three days in this resort to enjoy the hot springs provided inside the guest rooms as well as the Japanese-style hot spring. You can also visit the old towns which is 20mins away from the resort.…
I came with my parents for a stay of 3 nights at Angsana Teng Chong. From the minute we arrived at the arrival, we were arranged for a pickup with a man of excellent service. We stayed in a simple King Retreat Room during the 3 nights. It was a simple and beautiful room (with a view) that embodies the Angsana spirit. We had most meals at the restaurant. They were delicious! We did a full day tour arranged by our driver to explore the flower fields as well as the city and visited an excellent tea factory. It was breathtaking to be able to take Teng Chong in exploring the outskirts, the fields, the people, the green and the nature for a day. Our driver, Xiao Shao even brought us to a 小餐馆 for an excellent cheap Teng Chong cuisine! Every day we would visit the hot springs and spend several hours there. We were told the best time to come was as early as 10 or towards the night about 8pm. Outside guests enter in groups from 2pm onwards. Perhaps it was low season when we came, many times we had the hot springs entirely for ourselves and i thorougly truly enjoyed them. My parents enjoyed a great session of spa as well while i had a private herbal bath at the convenience of our room! Its great because i was able to enjoy the privacy of it by myself, a book and a view! Definitely recommend it to everyone! During our stay, we had excellent service from all of the staff. We were also possibly the only foreign guests as well. I would like to use this opportunity for the management to extend my gratitude to all the staff especially in the reception, main restaurant and the hot spring village for taking such immaculate care of us! I hope you all will visit the Maldives or Singapore soon! …
Stayed at this property last week with a group of friends. We were upgraded to the presidential villa after the noise and dust from the second phase construction site. The staff tried their best to accommodate our needs, however the property still needs to be improved. The highlight of my stay was the hot springs.
It was short visit as we are exporing Yunnan for a weeks. Stayed on Angsana hotel is Tengchong where the service is excellent and also Hotspring in the room and outdoor is plus point. Though outdoor has many guest but can accept because of the China Public holiday. Staff were very friendly and thoughtful that they worked hard to clean up our messy room for few days because we have naughty kids that they mess all the room and thank you for the arrangement. We will come back again without the kids to have good relax.
wow... a great hotspring experience at Angsana Tengchong. Where to go? Here equiped with so many types of hotspring. If you don't like sharing the hotspring with somone else, private hotspring in the room will be the best choice. The staff are friendly and lovely. Spending few days here will a a great time.. I will be back 😊
Hotel : - Without any answer 3 days after sending a booking enquiry by email to the hotel, we decided to call the phone number provided on Angsana website. No operator answered, we just had a recorded and Chinese only message. It was useless for foreign clients. How a so called Luxury resort does not have an operator on duty during the week in the afternoon ? Even calls to motels are answered by the staff ! - We decided to contact Angsana net "Live chat", which was quite slow at first but improved after a while. Finally, we were told that the hotel did not receive our email and was not aware about the recorded message in Chinese only (sic !). After this bad impression about management and customer services, we decided to give up our stay in this hotel we could not trust. Hot springs : - During our stay in Tengchong, we decided to experience the Hot springs in Angsana, as we were told that is one of the best spots in Tengchong County... - First impression, when we arrived there with our driver, was negative : many tourist buses were in front of the entrance. - We were surprised that absolutely no welcome staff was on duty outside to show the way of the reception (which is underground). Without our driver, we would not find it so easily due to the lack of basic signage. - At the reception, things went well with the help of our driver. We were disappointed by the fact that we were not told that snacks and drinks were served at the cafe nearby. By chance our driver who had experience let us know, and we were able to go there. - Food and drinks at cafe : What a bad experience : except to be asked to show our booking number, the staff did not take care of us, too busy to clean up the mess in the restaurant (very few tables were cleaned, food on the ground, we got the last 4 chopsticks on the buffet, and chopsticks were never refilled after that). Regarding the food served, you can't believe this part is managed by Angsana : peanuts and pieces of corn on the cob, basic sliced fruits and tasteless custard. - Changing room : no privacy when you change, the only place you can be alone without being bothered by passerby is the shower room. - Shower room : not cleaned after each use (no staff stays on duty in this section), a paper cup was found in one shower room, in another room the water pressure was very low...) - Another disappointment was the fact that no English speaking staff could be found in the premises. It was impossible for a non Chinese client to be understood. The answer I got is "I don't speak English".... Kind of classy in a Luxury hotel in China !! - When we went out and arrived to the hot springs, we noticed that the signage is not clear enough. But we were surprised to see a lot of visitors from tours enjoying the facility. We struggled to find an available and quiet hot spring. Conclusion : overpriced, no 5 star service, cheap snacks and drinks provided.…
After spending 8 days traveling with our family of five I was delighted to relax in this wonderful sanctuary. The room was tranquil, welcoming, beautifully appointed and spotless. We made full use of the private, thermally heated pool on our enclosed balcony. The staff were very friendly, efficient and offered the best service of my whole trip. We reluctantly left for a days sight seeing on our return were more than ready to try the many hot pools in the resort. Once again the staff were great in showing me the amenities. There were many different thermal pools to try, some scented, some relaxing and some invigorating. A fantastic way to unwind, followed by an excellent dinner at the restaurant. I wish I could have stayed longer.
As a regular guest of Angsana, it was a no-brainer choice to pick this resort when we decided to make a short trip to explore Tengchong. All in all, our experience was peaceful and enjoyable. As the location is out of Tengchong town, we booked the resort pick up car. Our flight was delayed for nearly two hours, but the warm welcome we received at the airport when we first met Angsana people made this journey very warm. It took about 25 minutes’ drive from Tengchong airport to the resort. The resort sits in a quiet valley with mountain view and a little creek running through, small but very tidy. The overall Chinese courtyard architectural style is rather picturesque. Check in was efficient and friendly, we received fresh flower bouquet and welcoming drinks. It would be good to give a little bit more introduction about the resort and Tengchong itself. Our room was the deluxe hot spring villa, very spacious. As this resort is brand new, everything is in mint condition. Comfy bed; clean bathroom; fast internet and a few international TV channels--hard to fault anything. The little hot spring bath at backyard is so wonderful. We had very peaceful and blissful experience at nights soaking and looking at stars. Breakfast was adequate but lack of attentive feeling as luxury resorts usually make guests feel pampered. Presentation needs improvement as well. The restaurant cooks good local food if you know how to order. The highlight of this resort is its 43 hot spring pools. Beautiful setting and wonderful water quality. Extra credits must give to those service people; they changed wet towels, organized slippers and offered drinks with sincere smile. Apart from its peaceful setting, clean air and beautiful starry nights, the best thing of this place is friendly people; everybody greeted you with beautiful smile. Those staffs should have more interaction with guests with more confidence and further training. There are not many things to do in this resort, but a few days get away from pollution and noise proved well worth the journey for us.…
