A big thank you to Lucinda & Robert who are wonderful hosts and who went the extra mile to take great care of us. Fabulous views and the beautiful Davey beach (Northern Grenada’s best kept secret) near by Lucinda’s delicious food, using fresh local ingredients, and Robert’s claim to make the best Rum Punch on the Island was happily put to the test numerous times.
We actually weren't staying at Almost Paradise (which was a shame but we had pre-booked an Air bnb earlier that week). We were in a bit of trouble as our host had failed to tell us we didn't have wifi - so the wonderful owner (Rob) at Almost Paradise offered his connection and a cold beer, Which we enjoyed watching the stunning view from the bar. The welcoming didn't end there - he and his wife proceed to drive us around the area and showed us a great night in Bathway...We weren't even guests and we were treated like old friends. So next time we are in Northern Grenada we are 100% staying here. Thanks a million Rob & Lucinda!!! Alex & Joelle
Thank you to Lucinda and Rob for a fabulous evening. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed your company and the food. As regular visitors to the north of Grenada, we are so happy to have found a great restaurant to enjoy many future meals at. Be sure to try the passion fruit Pavlova, to die for!
We stayed in Blue Cottage at Almost Paradise as guests of Lu and Rob for two wonderful weeks. Sleeping with the sound of waves, enjoying the hammock and painting on the deck, visiting the local beach and exploring the unspoiled north end of the island. Coming “home” to our funky colourful cottage was always a delight and even though our cottage had kitchen facilities we spent most of our evenings at the open air restaurant and bar. Lu calls herself a “cook” but that is being modest. She served up beautifully presented and tasty meals cooked with vegetables and spices fresh from the garden. The hospitality was great…….we have made some friends for life and hope to return soon!
We stayed at Almost Paradise for 3 nights while visiting Grenada, and it was a truly wonderful experience. Rob and Lucinda are so welcoming and warm, and went above and beyond to make our time there even more enjoyable than we could have imagined. The cottages on the property are beautifully maintained and offer both convenience and privacy. From the outdoor shower to the balcony with hammock and breakfast nook to the kitchen equipped with everything you need, it's the perfect place to make yourself at home. Lucinda is a very gifted cook and prepared delicious meals for breakfast and dinner, even supplying us with a basket of ingredients to make our own breakfast one morning when we felt like staying in the cottage. Rob makes the best rum punch I've ever had. They were the ideal hosts in that they were willing and available to socialize with us or give us space and privacy - it felt like we were staying with good friends as opposed to a hotel. They introduced us to several of their friends locally and even took us out to a local bar one evening, affording us an experience we never would have had on our own as tourists. We had a fantastic time staying there as a couple, but I could imagine returning with family or a group of friends and also having a great experience. The northern part of Grenada is absolutely gorgeous, and the view from Almost Paradise is as good as it gets. Well worth a visit here to explore this part of the island and enjoy a stay that feels like home. Hope to return in the future!…
I feel lucky to have stumbled on this place! Recently renovated and restored, this little network of private bungalows are nestled into the side of the mountain, whose balconies provide the most spectacular panoramic views of the Grenadines that you'll see anywhere on the island of Grenada. Equipped with kitchenettes and colorful rustic decor, the cottages lend themselves to nearly complete privacy for those willing to venture a little farther than the confines of a resort. Rob and Lucinda are gracious and attentive hosts and I could not recommend the entire experience more emphatically!
We spent 2 nights at Almost Paradise and wished we could have spent more. Rob and Lucinda have created a beautiful treetop getaway with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The location, just outside of Sauteurs and next to Petite Anse, was perfect for accessing points of interest. Sights like Bathway Beach, Welcome Stone, Crayfish Bay chocolate estate (must go!), sulphur springs and Lake Antoine were all less than 15-20 minutes away. Restaurant options are a bit scarce in the area but Lucinda and Rob will keep you well fed with delicious home-cooked meals and warm conversation. The cottage was breezy and rustic while having modern day luxuries like high- speed internet and hot showers. There is a path that takes you directly down to the beach as well. We especially loved that most of the property was solar-powered and environmentally conscious. Thank you Rob, Lucinda, Pickles and team for a lovely stay! We are so glad we chose to come up to see the northern half of Grenada.…
Almost Paradise is an understatement. This was Paradise! My girlfriend and I had a much needed rejuvenating experience over the weekend. Rob & Lucinda are wonderful hosts. The cottages are beautiful, each with a unique touch & an amazing sea view. Breakfast, lunch, & dinners were delicious! The rum punch hit the spot! Nearby, off the beaten path beaches offer a wonderful coastal nature walk/hiking experience!! We felt at home at Almost Paradise, and will most certainly be back for another taste of Paradise.
My partner and I decided to go for a “roadtrip” to the north of the island and stay a night at Almost Paradise. What a beautiful place to unwind! Rob and Lucinda are fabulous hosts offering delicious food and drinks. (P.S. the menu is veggie-friendly!) The cottages are gorgeous, spacious, and cozy - all at the same. The balcony is great and the view is even better! With recommendation from Rob & Lucinda, we went for a nice nature walk by nearby cliffs to secluded beaches and a local fishing neighborhood which was amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better trip to rejuvenate. We’re beyond grateful for the experiences shared while staying at Almost Paradise! We’ll definitely be back for another staycation or two in the future. :)
I spent two nights at Almost Paradise and it’s the perfect hideaway to enjoy a few relaxing days up North and to explore the beauty of nature. Self contained, spacious wooden cottages, with spectacular views to Sugar Loaf, Carriacou and Union Island. I loved the hammock on the verandah, the outdoor shower and the fast WIFI. There are some quiet little corners in the garden to unwind as well, and you even get a short leg workout, walking up the garden stairs to the restaurant/bar. I enjoyed listening to the North wind and the sea and to observe the Pelicans and Frigatebirds when they performed their sundown ballet above us. The new hosts Rob and Lucinda and their staff members are very lovely and welcoming! Lucinda is an amazing chef, offering you delicious dinner variations (including a vegetarian), a soup and a dessert. Her self-made breakfast toast bread is to die for. Rob is very helpful in giving tour suggestions or directions to beaches or bars. And please don‘t leave the place without trying his yummie homemade rhum punch - it‘s a must! I absolutely recommend the place, you are going to enjoy it!…
