We stayed at the Salona Palace Hotel for a week. The hotel is right next to the biggest archaeological ancient Roman site in Croatia. There are also mountains on one side of the hotel. There are things to do around the hotel and there is one bus service going every half hour to Split. It is more of a car type place. If you are looking to explore this area of Croatia from this hotel, I would probably recommend hiring a car otherwise the options are limited to taking taxis or using the local bus services. I would recommend upgrading to a dinner /bed and breakfast package, especially if you can’t face walking to Solin every evening. The hotel restaurant is a friendly and intimate place to eat. The food is delicious, the staff are great and they play some really tasteful music there too. The hotel itself is modern in design. Our room was clean and spacious with a balcony. We did have problems with the air conditioning. Even though we were shown how to use it, it didn’t seem to work too well. Overall though, it was great spending a week there. I did feel that the hotel would get a bit overrun when big groups of people arrived and there were some moments where there were misunderstandings but generally I feel the staff were like one big family and I think that the longer you stayed there, the more you felt like part of the family. …
We stayed here for 7 nights (9-16 august) and had a wonderful stay. Firstly, the hotel is beautiful and very impressive- the outside/ pool area is stunning and the gardens very well maintained. Other than one day spent at the beach (we got the free shuttle from the hotel which was very easy and convenient) we were more than happy to spend the rest of our days at the hotels outside area. The pool is clean, pretty, a lovely refreshing temperature and it was never too busy or crowded. We were very happy with our room, (superior double,) it was large and spacious and had a big balcony with a view of the pool/ surrounding mountains which was ideal. We were bed and breakfast and loved the breakfast- LOTS of choice and so nice and easy to just serve yourself and take a table by the pool to enjoy it. Food at the restaurant was also fantastic lunch options all delicious and fresh, wraps, burgers, salads, pasta etc. The evening meals were very good too, we chose to eat at the hotel 3 or 4 times by choice because the food was high quality and the service impeccable. Also, we loved the outside bar - the waiting staff are amazing and within a few minutes of you ordering a drink they will bring it over to your sun lounger and are constantly attending to the guests around the pool- more drinks, collecting glasses etc - they do an amazing job and in 36c heat most of the time!!! This brings me onto the best thing about the hotel, which was most definitely the staff. We were served at the restaurant for our various lunches/ dinners/ drinks etc by the waiters/ waitresses: Eva, Lana, Andelka, Marko and KiKi. These five are a credit to the hotel. They were nothing short of wonderful - so friendly, helpful, quick and despite having to run around in VERY hot temperatures tending to LOTS of demanding guests they were always so lovely and polite and on top of things! The service was five star, and we truly felt so well looked after. Hats off to these five for doing an amazing job, and making our experience a delight! Ps- great touch that you can arrange your covid tests (for return to the UK) through the hotel and a doctor arrives at reception to collect the samples, followed by an email with the results shortly after. Super easy and efficient. Thank you and we hope to come back again!!!…
Well located geographically to discover Split, this hotel surprises with its original design and everything is done for a comfortable and relaxing stay. beautiful rooms, quality food and smiling staff.
The hotel is outside Split but that is an advantage if you have a car because it has free parking and is very quiet. The swimming pool and garden area are beautifull and the personal is very friendly. Great breakfast. A special plus that they let us stay at the hotel until the time of the flight, using the swimming pool and the spa showers! Given the hot weather, it was so nice to arrive at the airport clean and fresh!
We stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed the room, the restaurant and facilities. The staff were super friendly and helpful. A bonus was the short walk to the ruins and amphitheater of Solona. This is not a coastal hotel, situated on the hills overlooking Split. The staff were very helpful in organising tours, and we always felt that they were going the extra mile in all our interactions with them. They really made us feel that they appreciate us being there.
