Well appointed room furnished with interesting antiques (owners' other activity), new bathroom set in cleverly arranged and beautifully maintained gardens overlooking the Cher. The breakfast served under a gazebo is outstanding. Owners are helpful and attentive. A reason in itself for visiting the Loire region. Why the 'almost'? We were reminded of Dornford Yates' Berry's quips about French drains. (But...

I booked by email in July but when I contacted the hosts a few days before our stay, they wrote back to say they'd forgotten to note our booking. This could have been a disaster as we were travelling by bike and it's difficult to just find somewhere else after the end of a long ride, but the hosts kindly...

Very friendly welcome by hosts Dominique and Alain - I almost felt "en famille". They are both genuinely kind and helpful, good fun and very knowledgeable. I slept in a dancer's art déco bedroom with lovely paintings on the walls... and an en suite rainforest shower bathroom. There is a fully equipped kitchen and seating room. The fridge was stocked...

Courjumelle is excellently situated on the edge of the town just across the river. There is private parking and it is a very short stroll to the shops and restaurants. Once within the gates you are in a peaceful garden with some interesting pieces of modern art. The room - La Sologne - was a reasonable size although for me...

We stayed with Dominique and Alain during May this year for one week, in their gite. Dominique and Alain did everything they could, and more, to make our stay enjoyable, and the amenities in our gite were all we could wish for. A lovely peaceful location, within easy reach of major tourist sites - castles, villages, restaurants etc. We would...

My mother and I just returned from a trip the Loire Valley where we stayed at Courjumelle. This chambre d'hote, run by Alain and Dominique, exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, until we departed, our stay was absolutely perfect. We stayed in the River Room; a darling, well-sized en-suite (with a terrace!) that was elegantly...

We can't recommend this highly enough. Situated on the banks of the River Cher, Dominque & Alain have renovated & furnished their rooms with immense taste and will give you the warmest of welcomes. We were staying in a room with it's own sitting room area and a lovely terrace overlooking the plunge pool. Antique furniture & paintings give the...

Our chambre d'hote was of a high standard and beautifully decorated. The small terrace outside the room, with access to a plunge pool, was perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. Breakfast was served outside under an arbour of roses - very romantic! The chambre d'hote is on the edge of a small town on the banks of...

A slightly up-market chambre d’hote just over the river from the centre of Selles-sur-Cher with pots of character and a warm welcome. Calm, comfortable, decorated and furnished with panache, and with a magnificent continental breakfast served by the charming hosts in their delightful garden. Definitely one to recommend!
