Lying at the very end of Lukla bazaar, a ten-minute walk from the airport, MLN Lukla often serves as the first stop at the start of a trek, or the end of it. But that’s still enough time for you to enjoy the local treat in all of the town’s shops, cafes and pubs and the sweeping views of Lukla bazaar and surrounding mountains.
The aesthetic here, as with all the Mountain Lodges of Nepal in the Everest region, is a combination of Sherpa heritage and contemporary Himalayan home, in wood, stone, and glass. The extravagant windows, both in guest rooms and common areas, boast deep wood frames that double as lounging spaces for admiring the view—for perched slightly higher than the rest of the town, guests here get a spectacular sight of the LuklaRi peaks. A grand Buddhist shrine fitted with prayer wheels centers the sprawling lobby, shared by a fully stocked bar and typically some international guests. Upstairs, the dining room is indulgently ornate with traditional Sherpa murals on walls and ceilings.
Excellent Lodge, definitely the nicest in Lukla. The grounds are beautiful, the room was very comfortable and the electric blankets greatly appreciated. The shower had unlimited hot water which isn't the case in all lodges in Lukla. Most impressive was the service. Divya, the hostess, was amazing. From greeting us upon our arrival with hot tea, to escorting us to our room and then serving us rum pum at "happy hour" and later providing us with a delicious dinner, she was there to meet any need or question. She also brought hot tea to our room at 6am, and then served us a hot breakfast in the dining room. She is a true asset to the lodge and made our stay memorable.

Good location for an early flight out of Lukla. Attractive laid out gardens with fine stone Lions on the approach steps. Great service by the staff. Welcomed with warm towels and black tea. Good Rum punch with Pop Corn in Happy Hour in the lovely highly decorated (including ceiling) warm lounge with traditional wood burner stove. Veey tasty supper and packed breakfast ( due to v early departure for flight (5am)). Had attractive bedroom over Reception with surpringly very modern fully working hot shower/ enclosure. The electicity for the electric blanket was not available unitially due to Inverter issues but all came good before long. Recommend stay for recovery after your trek. Close to main high street for shops and cafes.

This is a review for yeti mountain home in manjo and namche bazaar. We stayed at each stop for one night. While we were very cold and only basic heating amenities are provided, the staff was accommodating and helped us the best way they could. I heard this this the best hotel in both places…due to altitude logistics. If our family treks again here, it would be in September and not December.

We stayed at YMH Lukla on the last night of our 13 day trek from Lukla to Gokyo and back. YMH Lukla is an older property but it is very clean, well-maintained and seems to be the most ornately decorated of the group. Like all the YMH properties, they have a nice Happy Hour, excellent meals and staff who are willing to please. Fpod here seems to be a slight cut above the other YMH's, perhaps because they are near the airport. Plentiful hot water for the shower was welcome after 12 days on the trail. The lodge sits right at the trailhead going to Namche and is about a 10 minute walk to Lukla airport. We arranged this trip through Geographic Expeditions out of San Francisco and they worked with Kathmandu Travel to make all local arrangements. A special shoutout to our guide, Tanzing Sherpa who, at age 33, is knowledgeable, seasoned and steady. He seems to know everyone in the Khumbu, gave great advice on making some changes to the itinerary when he saw our capabilities, and was a real cheerleader when bad colds slowed us down towards the end of our 13 day trek. If you plan a custom hike in the Everest region I recommend that you seek him out through YMH or Kathmandu Travel.…

Generally the welcome, staff and food was very good but you pay for a Yeti Mountain location to get a hot shower and have a better maintained en suite room than the other team houses. The lack of hot water was painful after a 22km hike from Namche. The service and food were very good and the electric blanket welcome after a tough 2 weeks but you pay for the full package and I didn’t want to know that the solar water heating was problematic!

Room: We had a king-sized bed with a garden view. The room was large and had a nice desk and working outlets. We had a private flush toilet (& toilet paper!), a working sink, and a hot shower. The showers are solar powered so aren't available until later in the afternoon. Shampoo and soap is even provided. The bed had an electric blanket and was so comfy after the EBC Trek. Food & Dining room: We were two of three guests in the lodge, so had particularly great service. There was a happy hour with snacks and tea and dinner had three courses. They were accommodating to all dietary restrictions (we don't eat meat, and the chef made us something special). The food is downright delicious and the dining room is super warm as you're seated right next to the stove. Unlimited tea & hot water. Location: It's a couple streets farther away than some of the other guesthouses, but that's because the grounds are their own oasis away from the noise of Lukla. It only took about 5 min. to get back into the heart of Lukla, so you're not missing out. Other: Wifi was good in the common areas, if that matters to you.…

My husband and I stayed in Yeti Mountain Homes in Lukla, Phakding, Namche, Thames and Kondge as part of a trek booked directly with Yeti Mountain Homes. We had a wonderful experience, exceeding our expections. We were so well taken care of from the moment we were picked up at Kathmandu Airport to the moment we were dropped back at the airport twelve days later. I highly recommend booking directly with Yeti Mountain Homes. Their treks are not the cheapest way to experience the Himalayas but they are certainly worth it. Our guide Cami was also superb. The experience of a lifetime!

Attentive service, decent size rooms with private bath, hot water for shower, electric blanket for bed. Village electricity is spotty, so you can lose the power to the electric blanket and the internet, but the lodge always has its own power for lights and charging your electronics. Three course meal for dinner, breakfast was porridge, eggs, potatoes. We were there three nights because of weather issues at the airport, and they went out of their way to cook something different each night, including a flaming entree on our last night. Happy hour with free drinks and snacks before dinner. No heat in room but large wood-fired stove in common area which kept you warm till bedtime. Away from the noise of the main street of Lukla.

We flew from base camp to Lukla for a rest rotation prior to the summit push on Mount Everest. We had heard good things about Yeti Mountain Home so decided on it as the location of our 5 day rest period. First off, it is located off the beaten path behind a gate. It is clean and in a nice location. You must take off your shoes before entering (this was a good sign to us)! The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are modern. The beds have incredible heated blankets as well. The food is great and they even provide you with fresh lettuce salads from their garden (a much appreciated touch after being on the mountain for a month!). There is Wi-Fi but it is “mountain standard” so can be weak at times. There are hot showers in the afternoon as long as there is sun (solar powered). Yeti Mountain Lodge is leaps and bounds above tea house standard for the valley. The staff is friendly and there is a happy hour at 6pm :) we would highly recommend this lodge to anyone trekking or taking a rest rotation.…

We stayed here for one night on the last day of our trek. The staff turned off the generator around 9pm and shut down the water supply which left us with no electricity and no water through out the whole night. As we took the first flight out from Lukla, we woke up very early in the morning (before sun rises). So we had to use the bathroom in the dark, no COLD water to brush teeth and flush toilet. We even packed our bags and got ourselves changed in our dark room. We tried to look for the staff to help but we couldn't find anyone of them. The accommodation was charging much higher than other lodges. It is not worth the price and not value for money at all.
