Detailed Reviews
Stayed at Yeti Mountain Home on our way back from EBC. It was the best decision made after many days of trekking.
It was in the midst of winter and the water are frozen hence no hot shower. The staff boiled buckets of water for us to shower which was a very nice gesture :) we appreciate that.
The room had a great view of Namche Bazaar and we love the heater and electric blanket which kept us warm the entire night.
The lounge area was well insulated and a great place to relax. We went during the off peak season and had the entire hotel to ourselves. The staff were friendly and always around to cater to our requests.
Breakfast was good too. Hot milk with muesli and cereals, eggs any style and hot toasts. Good enough for a long 7 hours trek back to Lukla.
Would highly recommend Yeti Mountain Home to anyone who is trekking back from EBC.

I was trekking solo and had planned to avoid Namche altogether. However, I ended up staying several days before and after my trek. It became a joke amongst some guests how the place was making us not want to move on & to continue with our treks
I liked the location, being quiet with great views, also being next to the museums and on the trails to Everest View Hotel & Tengboche
I enjoyed some excellent day walks eg to Khunde, Khumjung
Sherpa family are good cooks (Italian cuisine options), very friendly and speak good English
Amazingly, when I was there, Sherpa father provided supplementary oxygen during the night to a Korean trekker, who was suffering altitude sickness
Helicopters sometimes use garden as landing area
I took showers (water was hot from gas boiler, charged as an extra) and made use of good WIFI. No power sockets in rooms but I charged downstairs with no issues. They washed & returned my laundry dry & promptly, and at short notice. They provided brush & water for me to clean my boots. Main room was kept warm by use of central stove. My bedroom was less cold than other lodges I stayed at, I think because there is insulation in the building (which is rare!)
All in all, the place is a rare gem

+1
I was on a trek to Everest Base Camp with Prime Himalayas and after 2 days, we reached Yeti Mountain Home in Namche. Unfortunately, I woke up the next day with bronchitis after resting a day, my guide told me I was too ill to continue (and I agreed). Prime Himalayas made arrangements for me to stay at Yeti Mountain Home until I could join my group back in Lukla. I spent an additional 5 nights and was so thankful I was at YMH. Mr Salik, the manager moved me to a large deluxe room on the corner with lots of light and a king size bed.
The staff were wonderful & didn’t mind me camping out in the dining room or on the patio drinking lots of ginger lemon honey tea. The meals were delicious - especially the dal bhat - a Nepali staple. I met several interesting trekkers passing through.
Later in the week, I was able to do the short hike to the scenic view and then down to Namche Bazaar. On Friday, Salik walked me over to the helipad to take a helicopter down to Lukla.
Yeti Mountain Home had lots of solar heated hot water, boiled water for drinking and took excellent care of this ailing traveler. I also had a wonderful massage in my room - great after a tough 2 days trekking up.
Can’t say enough about the hospitality and care of Yeti Mountain Home in Namche!

We stayed 3 nights at YMH Namche on our 13 day trek from Lukla to Gokyo and back. YMH Namche is an older property and could use an update to the bathrooms and some work on its hot water system, which was spotty while we were there. However like all the YMH properties, they have a nice Happy Hour, excellent meals and staff who are willing to please.
We arranged this trip through Geographic Expeditions out of San Francisco and they worked with Kathmandu Travel to make all local arrangements. A special shoutout to our guide, Tanzing Sherpa who, at age 33, is knowledgeable, seasoned and steady. He seems to know everyone in the Khumbu, gave great advice on making some changes to the itinerary when he saw our capabilities, and was a real cheerleader when bad colds slowed us down towards the end of our 13 day trek. If you plan a custom hike in the Everest region I recommend that you seek him out through YMH or Kathmandu Travel.

Stayed here on the way to EBC and back from Gokyo - on the way down it was just paradise after the cold and basic nature of most of the tea houses. En suite bathroom, free hot shower when arranged with the manager (no hot showers at all in most tea houses!), really great food and very attentive and friendly staff. The electric blanket was a god send as similar to every other tea house there’s no central heating.
Worth the extra money if you want a boost before and a extra comfort after you have gone higher.

I stayed at Hilltop three days altogether in October 2022. The lodge sits peacefully above all the chaos and noise of Namche Bazar. It has a beautiful view down onto Namche and across the valley. The lodge is on the main trail at the top of the hill, just look left. Another bonus, when you leave Hilltop headed up trail, you’re starting your day hiking level rather than having to start off hiking up through Namche.
Lhakpa is an incredible host, a former guide with extensive experience. He can arrange anything you need, and he spends part of the year being a chef in Italy so his cooking is amazing. The lodge is very clean, warm (Lhakpa has the usual stove but also an extended length, special order, overhead mount electrical heater that is really warm) and has all the amenities you need including laundry and a hot shower. I enjoyed sitting in the evenings and learning about the area and people from Lhakpa (he has some great stories and experiences!). He also set me up for success for the next several days on the trail with travel tips and contacts.
I highly recommend this clean, warm, welcoming lodge that has everything you need. It was such a welcoming sight on the hike back out, a home away from home.

Excellent hosts, clean rooms with hot shower(really hot), delicious food and spectacular views. I am so glad to have stayed in this lodge and met Lakpa Sherpa and his family who were so kind and caring when I was having altitude sickness. The lodge is well located next to Everest view hotel, shepa museum and sagarmatha museum. Highly recommend this place.

Wonderful place. Ideally located at the top of the hill. Very friendly family. Great food. Lakpa and his wife are working in Italy in the Summer so the Italian dishes are very tasty. Try the homemade gnocchi! Delicious. The best lodge we stayed in during our 3 passes trek.

I stayed at Hilltop Lodge on my way to and from Everest Base Camp. Impeccably clean, wonderful food (especially the pizza), and had a phenomenal shower to get all of the grit I had accumulated on my trek. It also has stunning morning and evening views of the mountains. I think there is a reason Reinhold Messner stays here every time he is in Nepal!
