I cannot speak highly enough of the incredible family who run this hotel, restaurant and guided trips. Fernando is one of the friendliest people I have ever met and made us feel extremely welcome. He mixes a mean canelazzo too! He knows that it is freezing in Latacunga and rooms are equipped with heaters, and Fernando fetched a heater for us wherever we wanted to sit. Our bed had five blankets and a quilt and we were warm enough, but we did wish we had brought more warm clothes. (They do keep a cupboard of spare layers for your hiking trip if you ask!) Fernando’s wife Jenny is the talented and experienced chef other reviewers rave about, and I echo those reviews: huge portions, which you don’t need in the evening as the altitude plays havoc with your digestion. Have a decent lunch and take just one course for your evening meal. I highly recommend the French toast breakfast and the amazing tomato soup which tastes like memories of childhood. Jenny’s sisters all take guests hiking in Cotopaxi and we loved our day with Maribel. She got us up to the glacier at 5100 metres as well as showing us all the lovely wildflowers at Limpiopunga. One of her cousins drove us across to the other side of the park to take a horse riding trip from Tambopaxi. We were so impressed with this hard working and friendly family: this stay has been a highlight of our five weeks in Ecuador.

This is very quaint and cozy place. The hotel is located just at the entrance to the road that goes to the Cotopaxi National Park, as well as the refuge high in the mountain. The staff was nice, and after dinner they showed us several typical instruments (including the namesake Rondador) and played some music. The restaurant was good, and the views outstanding. The hotel is definitely a good value.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the tour to the cotopaxi vulcano was very nice and impressing. The rooms are clean and the hostel is located right next to the entrance of the national park. Food was good as well!

While looking for accommodation near Cotopaxi we booked in to this hostel as they offered what looked like a very nice double room with private bathroom. Though cold it was a nice room. We arrived around lunch and my wife had a fancy for a burger (we very rarely eat them) so I joined her and I must admit it was very tasty. After our afternoon hike we did not feel like trying to find a restaurant so decided to eat here again and so glad we did, it is a small restaurant only 6 tables but who ever the cook is it was delicious, I had the Cameron al ajillo which was delicious, my wife had spaghetti a la bolonesa it was too big a portion but she loved it. I would recommend this low budget hotel to anyone

We stayed here for four nights and had an amazing time. The family who run the hostel are very helpful and organised lots of excursions for us! They took us to the lake for us to walk around as well as taking us up to base camp of the volcano. They also organised for us to go horse riding around the volcano. The food in the restaurant is fantastic and has a lovely atmosphere with a roaring fire! The rooms were also lovely! Definetly recommended!
