The Edelweiss Hotel in Braies, in South Tyrol is a gem of tranquillity and relaxation. This is not only due to the beautiful location in the heart of the Puster Valley, but also the pleasant family atmosphere, which invites a feeling of well-being. The Edelweiss Hotel in Braies is embedded in the beautiful countryside at the foot of the Three Peaks mountain. You can expect varied days in the realm of relaxation, culinary delights, plus plenty of quietness and nature. Enjoy the picturesque mountains surrounding our hotel and relax in this very special place, where hospitality and cosiness are at home. Our hotel is very family friendly. Apart from a children’s playroom, you can in the summer also find a playground for children, next to the hotel. Admidst the fresh mountain air, not only children but also adults can feel comfortable. Even your little four-legged friend is very welcome. "Happier than the happiest man is he who can make other people happy." To this saying by Alexandre Dumas, we are also committed. The well-being of the visitor and the high tradition of tyrolean hospitality are our profession and vocation all in a setting of alpine architecture and rustic elegance. We look forward to seeing you in the Dolomites, on your unique holiday in Braies! Sincerely yours, the Schwingshackl family and the team at Edelweiss

This review is slightly overdue as our stay was in Sep. Reservation was made directly with the hotel. I have to highlight that I am reviewing the hotel not the surrounding of the hotel which is beautiful. I guess we had a bad start with the hotel from the beginning because of the misunderstanding with our reservation. I though I had book our stay for half board but actually it was only for bed and breakfast. It was sorted out the next day with a cold explanation that there would be a difference of eur13 per person. Price was reasonable. Anyhow there is nothing within walking distance from the hotel so we agreed. Basically the hotel is located along the road which leads to lake Braies. It can get quite busy and noisy during peak season. Our room was standard nothing special. There is a small Spa at the hotel located at the basement which has no window so I feel a little suffocating. Restaurant standard was good so I must say we did enjoy our meal. During our stay, tourist mainly Germans. Even though we are in Italy, language used in this hotel is mainly German. Honestly, I am not sure how I feel about the hotel. Service was professional but definitely cold for my liking. Beside the misunderstanding at check in, we also had the same misunderstanding at check out. For some personal reason we have to shorten our stay by 2 days even though we have booked for a week. We were told that we have to pay for the entire stay as it is written so no choice. Only thing that they could remove is the EUR13 per person for the meals. Overall experience average for my liking. Lack flexibility. Feel of the hotel was like in Germany even though we are in Italy. Do not think it will be my first choice when visiting again. For the same price or a little more I think I could get a better deal. I have to add that we pay eur15 a day for our dog and there was not even a water container for my dog.

Good morning, thank you very much for your evalutation. Everyone who has a little idea about the story of Italy and South Tyrol knows that as the story goes (first and second World War) 70% of the South Tyrolian residents has the german mother tongue, 26% the italian and the rest of the residents are ladin. If you doesn´t know our culture and story as visitor we are very sorry and disappointed about this. How you see at our web site and also your written confirmation e-mail the cancellation charge is for everyone the same and we can´t do exceptions, more than ever when the booking is during the peak season and there is a strong demand. For animals we ask as mentionated everywhere (web site, confirmation e-mail....) a price of € 15,00 per day for the accurate cleaning WITHOUT food and beverage, but on request you get gladly a water container. Relating our rooms we have three different categories and animals are only accepted in the standard rooms because of the wood ground. If you would get a better deal for this price maybe the next time you have to choose a hotel of a higher category which is more expensive! Thank you very much for your visit and evaluation! Kind regards Nadine from team Edelweiss

We had a few days escape break at this magical part of Italy! The hotel is very nicely decorated,it has a typical mountain cottage feeling. Rooms are nice and comfortable, with a little balcony. They have a little spa at the basement, with sauna, steam room and two mini Jacuzzis, what you can operate with a token, it lasts about 10 minutes. They have various teas and juices you can help yourself to. The best part is the restaurant, they can manage to turn around quiet big numbers, they offer different set menu every day for dinner with a fantastic and friendly service. For breakfast there is a buffet with all local goods in a big variety, you can be sure you will never leave hungry. The hotel is in close proximity of ski resorts or nearby villages, and of course Lake Braies, which is absolutely beautiful! Special thanks to the land lady, she was everywhere, always smiled and had a few word to everybody, and she spoke quiet a few languages, which was really impressive. I can 100% reccomend this hotel and would return without hesitation.

We found this nice hotel by driving past to the nice lake prags (Pragser Wildsee). The frontside with his very simple car parking of gravel is not very inviting. We stayed there 3 nights in a beautiful big room (almost 2 rooms). Breakfast is multivarius. Dinner phantastic. Price unbelievable inexpensive. the smal but fine wellness area confinced us. But the best was the family-business with frindly people and perfect service. There is a bus stop next the frontdoor. I am looking forward to go there soon.
