This was our second stay in the Priory. Last time we were here during the summer, this time we arrived at Christmas Eve. Beautifully decorated with a giant christmas tree. A warm welcome by Ben with a delicious Christmas cake made by David. The Priory has really everything you need, including enogh heating since the weather was not all that good, Great place to stay and a great place to discover Brittany. We definitley wil be back a third time in yet another seasn, Thansk for having us, Kees and Christof
Spent a week at the Hayloft. Lovely 2 person gite with everything you need. Ben and David couldn't have been more welcoming and their dogs Garrett and Brendan were also friendly. Well placed to visit many lovely towns, villages, forests and other historic sites in Brittany. Want to return already!
Wonderful little gite in a superb location. Clean and well appointed, Hayloft is a delightful bolthole from which to discover the Monts D'Arée and coastal areas. Welcoming, friendly hosts make one's holiday go smoothly. Highly recommend Kergudon.
We recently (early Oct 2020) spent a great week at beautiful Kergudon Gites. We chose to stay in the lovely Granary and didnt regret it for a minute. Ben and David our hosts were kind, generous and most helpful from first contact until check-out. and yes indeed...David is an excellent cook. do NOT miss out on one of his suppers. The Granary is spacious, welcoming...good parking. Very well maintained. Nice outdoor dining area and private garden. Bright, light (south facing aspect) and airy. Great country style kitchen which is exceptionally well equipped and an absolute pleasure to prepare meals here. Nice reading corner down on ground floor too. We loved the upstairs lounge and master-bedr....could have just done with a little more storage space (hanging) for clothing. Everywhere was comfortably and stylishly furnished (excellent bed). The immediate area is exceptionally quiet....superb stargazing. There are also many places to visit and enjoy in a 50-75 km radius making this a great location for perfect relaxation or sightseeing too. We were rather unfortunate with the weather in Brittany this trip so we were doubly thankful for having such a comfortable retreat. Many thanks also for the prompt return of our damage deposit. Hope to visit again in the not too distant future. YES...i´d recommend this property to my best friend.…
We have just spent a wonderful week in the Priory. Very spacious and comfortable, a real home from home. Great attention to detail, the kitchen was very well equipped (sharp knives) and David and Ben thoughtfully provided sofa throws and towels for our two dogs. The location was perfect for exploring Finistère. We cannot recommend this property highly enough and will definitely return again.
We stayed at ‘The Granary’ a perfect gite, equipped with everything you can think off, nice garden, close to the mountains of Arree. Ben and David are perfect hosts. The welcome basket was good value and original. To be short, don’t go look any further, this is the place.
We were the second party to stay in the "refurbished" Priory. Fully equipped kitchen, very nicely en tastefully decorated, the livingroom with the beautiful Chesterfields actually smelled a little like an old church. You will have your own private terrace. It's a great place to visit the various parts of Brittany. Make sure to book a dinner. David is a great chef! We think about staying there in autumn as well.
We stayed in The Stable for three nights to enjoy a party nearby. Wonderful accommodation, wonderful hosts and an amazing breakast each day. Pete and I had stayed here before, and although it was a lovely place to be then, the work Ben and David have done since they took over is par excellence. A bientot Ben and David.
We had a lovely week at Kergudon. The location is rural but a pub and bakery are within walking distance, and you are a short drive from an attractive small town offering restaurants, banks, shops, and weekly market. A forest walk and lake with swimming and a well marked walking circuit are also close by. We stayed in one of the smaller gites, there are larger properties on site together with a games room, boules, gym and gardens. Our gite was very nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and well equipped including a lovely bathroom, good bed and woodburner. The USP for us was welcoming dogs, having a 6 month old puppy with us on our travels. The owners Ben and David have two very friendly spaniels of their own and have thought of lots of little touches to make your and your canine companions' stay very comfortable, even helping organise the vet visit required before returning home. They have obviously worked hard and put a lot of effort into setting up their gites and offering a quality experience. A highlight of the week was David's cooking, an excellent and very generously portioned meal can be ordered to eat in your gite. It was really high quality home cooking to professional chef standard. The property is surrounded by fields and forests, and a 45 minute drive on good and very quiet roads leads to wonderful, almost deserted beaches even in August; big skies, vast expanses of sand, blue sea, clear water. The beaches were so lovely we went three times to different spots on the West and North coast. Overall a relaxing, get away from it all location in a lovely part of rural Brittany and high quality, dog friendly accommodation. …
When a place gets rated, literally, 99/100, [a] you really don't need to look any further, but [b] it does make additional comments, like ours, almost redundant. But we'll write anyway, if only to affirm our admiration of what Ben and David have achieved through commitment to excellence and five years' hard work. Trip Advisor suggests the genre of Gites de Kergudon as, "Hidden Gem". It sure is. We stayed for one week in The Hayloft, in August 2019 and had a wonderful time. St Cadou is a great base for exploring beautiful Brittany, five minutes from a delightful lake and also within striking distance of two seas - the Channel to the North and Atlantic to the West, not to mention the nearby Brest to Nantes canal (great for cycling). We ran out of time, not things to do and see. There are excellent walks, markets, restaurants, exhibitions, events and pretty villages nearby. What about the accommodation? The Hayloft was very well equipped for seriously comfortable living; we had our own terrace and a generous patch of lawn with sun loungers and BBQ, as well. Oh yes, and the acoustics in the Hayloft are rather good too: so glad we'd brought a good selection of music - from Bach unaccompanied Cello Suites to Nina Simone singing Bob Dylan. Great. One highlight for us was the dinner we ate in the Hayloft delivered to our door: Trout Mousse, Boeuf Bourguinon and Apple Tart. The question in our minds was not, "Did David train as a chef too?", but "WHERE did David train as a chef?" Don't miss it; it was superb. Tip: the dishes were huge and they're all for you - so don't think about food shopping for at least 36 hours afterwards. As other reviewers have noted, Ben and David are very welcoming and super helpful when you need them. In a perfect world, we would have given their creation six star our of five - but there you go... .…
