We're a family of 3 and we all felt so relaxed here, it was extremely comfortable and clean. The location was beautiful as was the peace and quiet. We enjoyed the pool and Elizabeth and Matthews cooking, warm hospitality and kindness. Wished we could stay longer, Definitely highly recommend this gorgeous house and want to come back.
We spent three wonderful nights at Les Touches and were made to feel totally welcome by the owners Elisabeth and Mathew. The accommodation was fabulous, clean, warm and well kept. It overlooked the garden and had views of the woods and stream beyond. Breakfast was a real treat. We both enjoyed coming into the Kitchen with a table laden with a brilliant Continental breakfast, plenty for the rest of the day. All in all our stay at Les Touches made our stay in France a totally enjoyable one.
We were welcomed to Les Touches by a burning log fire and a friendly host, Matthew. His (and his wife's) hospitality throughout our 3 night stay was exemplary. The location is in a beautiful setting, with only the sounds of nature around. Our kids enjoyed the large garden and watching the chickens. There was lots of choice at breakfast and we had a delicious evening meal. We stayed in the family room which was more than adequate for 2 adults and 2 children. We visited the D Day beaches in Normandy, as well as St Malo and Mont St Michel - all within 1.5 hours drive away. Highly recommended!
After a long leg of the return journey from deepest rural France what a super find this was! We used Stopover Connections to book this B&B and it was not at all difficult to find using google directions from their website and what a super dinner Elizabeth prepared - dont bother even thinking about going to a local restaurant, this was absolutely terrific, home cooked food with 4 courses, wonderful! A warm welcome from Matthew who showed us our room in "the loft", plenty of space and comfy beds for us the two children with a clean ensuite (no dodgy grouting here!) and a hearty choice for the breakfast to set us on our way the next day. Good luck with your venture Elizabeth and Matthew, you deserve every success with "Les Touches" and we hope it goes from strength to strength, we will definitely be returning!…
We stayed in the garden room for 2 nights, 2 adults and our 15 month toddler. The room is very spacious with a double and two single beds and with plenty of room for a travel cot (10euros a night extra). We were able to put our baby to bed and enjoy an evening meal in the main farmhouse, with our baby monitor switched on. The B and B is in a remote location but very peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Our evening meal was nice and breakfast is simple but good - fresh bread, croissants, yogurts, cereals, ham, cheese and melon. The owners are relatively new and still adjusting to their new lifestyle but are very friendly and welcoming. The only thing we were a bit miffed about was that we were charged for the food our toddler ate, despite being told that his food would be free when we booked. If we known we would have brought his food with us. We didn’t want to raise this with the owners and suspect it was a case of mis-communication between the old and new owners, and they had cooked him a special meal.…
On route to a week in Chinon, we stayed on night at Les Touches and loved it so much we stayed another night on our return journey. Matthew and Elizabeth had only been moved in as the new owners for 7 weeks, however made us and our stay their top priority. A most friendly and helpful experience, with delicious food and a nice touch for the cool evening to light the wood-burner in the communal sitting room. Our upstairs room has twin aspect windows over the gardens, light, airy and spacious. We had a most peaceful night's sleep and awoke to birdsong.
What a wonderful find! Sue and Gerry were excellent hosts (and terrific cooks/sommeliers in the evening!); the place is lovely, with beautiful gardens, a nice swimming pool and lots of stuff to keep children entertained. Highly recommended!
We needed a place to stay to use as a base while we introduced our children to the delights of this area on their first visit to France. LesTouches was easy for us to get to from St Malo (after a very early departure from Jersey),Gerry and Sue were very helpful in letting us dump our stuff in their barn while we went off to explore. We all had a delicious supper that evening (they kindly provided the children with beautifully homemade pizza and ice cream for an earlier tea, a great idea as they were running out of steam and probably wouldn't have managed supper later - the children that is. Sue and Gerry have endless, charming, energy that keeps everything running smoothly and comfortably. Breakfasts were a particular hit, delicious hot things (waffles, crepes etc) - different each day - plus fab croissant, brioche, yummy homemade jam. The children 10 &7 were thrilled with the pool, gardens were lovely. Excellent hosts, know the area well. We loved Granville and cancale (made uk seafood seem very second rate!). Thoroughly recommend it. Oh, and the loft room and ensuite were perfect for a family of four, positively "country living/homes&sugar dens" in style, spotlessly clean and in full working order.…
Our fifth (and sixth) visit(s) to this lovely B&B with another very warm welcome and attentive hosts. They go out of their way to provide gluten-free meals for our son. This year we treated ourselves to a stay with Sue and Jerry both on the way down to the south of France and on the way back. It adds a couple of hours travel to our travel but well worth it to stay with them and to break up the journey. We stayed again in the ground floor Garden Room which is comfortable for the five of us. The children again enjoyed the pool (pool towels provided), the trampoline, the various animals and, because they are getting older, the wifi! Sue again provided wonderful food with our son's coeliac disease in mind. If you can, do take the opportunity to enjoy dinner with them. As usual, the food, drink and hosting were excellent and we've always found this a great way of relaxing after a day of travelling. We're quite used to finding them now but it is a lovely quiet rural location and so if you have the facility, use the long/lat facility on your satnav or Google Maps to find them.…
