We stayed in La Maison during May half term. We're a family of SEVEN, that's right! 5 kids, my wife and I. We really enjoyed our stay. The grounds surrounding the accommodation are super safe for children and very peaceful. The house itself is tastefully furnished, well equipped, and comfortable. As with many older farmhouse buildings, it stays really cool - on cooler days, there's a wood burner in the living room that heats the whole house. Most things in Brittany are 45-60 minutes drive away and there's a medium size town within 20 minutes with a fantastic swimming pool (called Spadium) with two slides, rapids, baby/toddler pool, leisure pool, and lanes pool. Bev and Warren, the owners are super friendly, lovely, and helpful and their son, Freddie, was a great addition for our older boys too and they played lots together. Bev and Warren are not imposing, but always around for friendly advice or a chat. Our stay was rounded off with a treasure hunt around the grounds for the kids, which Bev organised, and drinks and nibbles for all the adults staying in the accommodation. Loved it there and we felt very at peace with the children (aged 1-9) roaming around the place.

From the moment I booked Guebernez I knew it was going to be wonderful and I was not wrong! Bev the host is amazing from the correspondence prior to arrival to emails during our stay suggesting a local Fete to visit as well as more suggestions of places to visit and a running route! There is a long list of places to go in a folder in the gite which we enjoyed exploring during our stay. The gites are beautifully decorated and furnished and travelling with a one year old we were provided with a wooden cot and high chair which really helped. There are also so many outdoor toys to use to entertain little ones and buckets and spades to borrow for the beach, all of which helped to make it a super week. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and hope to return to visit again. Thank you x

It's not often one books a holiday where the house, grounds, entertainment and a friendly host all tick the right boxes. This is that place! Gite was lovely with lots of space and everything you'd need for a family break. Lots of lovely space for football, bikes and hide & seek as well as a pool, dressing up, ping pong, books, toys. This is remote so if you're looking for quiet, this is it. Local boulangerie in 2 nearby villages as well as enough to do in the area to keep you busy. We travelled July 2019 and the weather was good all days except one. I'd recommend Sabots Rouge for a meal out, as well as a trip to Doelan (find the crepe van in the harbour - delicious crepes), Quimper, retro theme park in Elliant, cycling along the canals and just generally sitting under the trees at Guebernez. Can't recommend this place highly enough - it was divine.

A very enjoyable and relaxing stay. My family (2 adults 3 children) enjoyed every aspect of the Guebernez experience. The layout of the grounds is fantastic, you are constantly discovering small little surprises which add to the charm of the place. It’s location lends itself to great unobstructed views of the area. There is a veggie patch which Bev kindly let us take some salad items during our stay. Everything has been thought of for your stay, there is plenty to keep the kids occupied from the pool, toys for the little ones to the games room for the slightly older kids. As there’s 3 other houses with families the kids all played together in the evening. The layout means you can relax while the kids play in a safe and secure environment La Chaumière. The house is fantastic, has everything you can think of covered for a stay. It’s an old house which has been tastefully and carefully renovated. The area is beautiful , it’s within walking distance of a small town with everything you need. Beaches are 50 minutes away on good roads. Plenty of close by lakes and other wonderful sight seeing, there’s no need to leave to be honest. My wife enjoyed early morning/late evening runs which Bev helped out with routes. Bev is a really nice person and we enjoyed her company. She was on hand to provide any advice needed. We will be back for longer!

The owners are a young couple , very welcoming and helpful. The gites are well furnished and clean. English is no problem as the gentleman ( who's name escapes me) speaks good English. Although we didn't take breakfast, lots of families did and it seemed to be a nice sociable time.

Hello Roy. Many thanks for posting a review of our gites but we wondered whether it's been posted in error? We are self-catering gites, so we don't serve breakfasts, and although we're very pleased by your rating and description, we're not that young and English is our native language! Have you perhaps got us confused with somewhere else you have stayed? All the best
