We stayed overnight in a room with a private bathroom. The location is just nice but now wow! The hotel sites over a hill with a nice overlooking view to Flatdal. The history back this hotel is interesting where the family of the Norwegian artist lived and the place has been taken over by the family and turned into a...

Rooms facing the highway/driveway are quite noisy, try to avoid that in your booking. Dinner menu changes every day. The quality of food is great. Such food quality is compensated with price (dinner for two is more expensive than the room rate). Location is a bit hard to evaluate: it is right next to the drive way, so it is...

After travelling the west coast of Norway; Sauda, Odda, Tyssedal and Ullensvang, staying and eating at miserable places, I just don't wan't to rate them, it's just sad, although the people are great! We have now reached our final stay on our trip, Nutheim a small family driven place outside of Seljord, it is so nice to come to such...

Me and my wife stayed here for a couple of nights celebrating her 40th birthday. The hospitality in this place is just unique. Everything was just amazing from the moment we arrived. The food was also perfect. The dinner and the breakfast was alone worth the trip. The view overseeing the valley is just breathtaking.

We stayed one night at Nutheim and it has all the charm of an old coaching in. The staff and owner are very nice and welcoming. Rooms are basic but that is balanced out by the charming lounges. We had a three course dinner served by friendly staff and breakfast was good and filling. The view is stunning and it...

An ideal stop for some traditional Norwegian hospitality between Bergen and Oslo on the E134. Fabulous dinner and breakfast in a traditional timber guesthouse with a long artistic tradition. Our room with ensuite was very comfortable and had amazing views down the valley. Make sure you arrive in time to sit on the terrace with a local home brewed beer...

We stayed for two nights. Amazing old accomodation, with a personal service from the innkeeper and her staff. We planned staying two nights, but ended up staying for three. The scenery is great, tall mountains and a deep flat valley. The food is local at a decent price.

When we looked for hotels in Seljord in Tripadvisor, we didn't see any reviews about this hotel (now of course I see them). So we decided to stay here anyway (26-27Aug 2013) without expecting anything. What a pleasant surprise. Very traditional, loved the paintings on the wall. We especially loved the lounge area (salong). The innkeeper was nice. If I...

Wonderfully traditional accommodation either in a the main guesthouse, a 300 hundred year old priests house or outside loft. Be aware you have to share bathroom and in some cases shower facilities. Truly authentic Norwegian experience with an innkeeper who owns the establishment and runs it as her own house, you are more a house guest than a paying guest...
