17 of us ate lunch here last week. The service was impeccable and friendly. There were able to serve us home-made meals made from scratch in record time. We were all able to sit together in a wonderful atmosphere; drinks were incredibly reasonably priced, and most of all, the food was absolutely way above average and exquisite, with generous portions... Met up with friends here for lunch. Worth finding it - particularly as warmed up seated by a log fire on a very chilly day. Not the cheapest of pub food - but the quality is worth paying for. Delicious steak and ale casserole with dumplings and crunchy veg, steak and kidney pie floating in rich gravy and the lamb... More

We took up a 2 night B&B offer, with £50 towards the first night dinner. What a find!! The room was like a luxury hotel, the ambience was perfect and the food was to die for. It is such a great location to explore from either by car or on foot. We will definitely return, deal or no deal. Many... More

Set in a lovely part of Hampshire, with walks right on your doorstep. We stayed here two nights, wonderful hospitality, excellent food and very lovely room with sumptuous bed linen and sheep duvets! To top it all, we were able to enjoy this lovely place with our beloved pooch, Bailey!

Still yet to have dinner here, but lunch just seems so good and brilliantly orchestrated - and its a pub with different real beers on tap including St Austell's Proper job. It was Sunday so hence the busy atmosphere but still space to site at the bar, then a kitchen that can serve up rare beef, lamp as well as... More

Be prepared to park 100 yards down the road on a Friday lunch-time! We are not the only ones to have heard about the success of this pub (thanks to Nick a Petersfield taxi driver). Like many pubs, this is more an eaterie rather than a drinking pub. Very pleasant decor with pine-tables and nice atmosphere. Friendly cheery service from... More

I visited this pub for the first time last year. It was good then and it's still good now. The whole ambience of the place is great. With a roaring log fire in the corner and a homely feel throughout. The staff were as welcoming and as friendly as they were last time. The food was just as good. I... More
