This is the best cove the water is nice and clear but it is rocky but good for a swim. There is a cave if u swim to your right and u must crawl to get in the cave. There is a rock next to it with no rocks around it u can jump of. It is best to get there... More

The simply refurbished fishermen's dwellings are very charming, and the room we had (Sotto la torre) had a perfect private terrace where we could have breakfast everyday, and an aperitif in the evening. It's really unique and takes you back to a simple summer holiday mode, the location, the views and the feeling of a little self-contained community is really... More

Since my last visit in 2012, this lovely swimming area has changed. You are no longer allowed to drive down the hill to parking near the beach - parking is now across the road at the top of the hill. Areas that have any hope of shade have been roped off for the use of guests staying in the rooms,... More

We stayed in mid Sept '15. The booking process was done over email (no credit cards accepted) and was efficient, responsive (to questions) and informative. Good directions given to reach the Tonnara. Efficiency on arrival as the guarded gate had our names to allow us straight in with no fuss. The "guardian" Mohammed was very helpful throughout our 5 day... More

I have been there for a week. We had a room for 4 in the main building accessible only through the private courtyard. The place is amazing, the natural context too. Never seen so many fishes near the beach. The private beach is a must because during day time the "public" part is invaded by tons of visitors. So it... More

We arrive here on a yacht. Sight is magnificent the only thing is thst we couldn't swim to the shore as it's a private beach. This is an amazing corner in sicily with a nice old Tower watching over the bay.If you go by car you have to pay 3.50 euros and there is a bit of a walk as you... More

This is simply a different kind of experience. An old tuna fish community made of original buildings all reconverted in a simple but comfortable way. All rooms are very spacious and overlook the sea. They have cooking facilities too. There is no traditional reception area but you are given keys by a warden and the place is yours to wander... More

It's an amazing corner of Sicily, with a beautiful see, a beautiful landscape. Too bad you have to pay 3,50 Euro to get in, I'm not sure wether it is legal or not. The shore is very polluted and invaded with noisy turists, babies everywhere! Visit is far from summer! Such a shame!

We were two couples travelling in low season (rainy November). Despite our arrival during a torrential downpour, we found shelter, warmth, and an unforgettable experience at Tonnara di Scopello. The caretaker Mohammed was very welcoming and was able to communicate well enough in French, which made up for our very limited Italian vocabulary. We stayed in two sea-front rooms: Ancore... More
