#1 of 16 Specialty lodging in Misahualli
We are a little family run hostel located in the green part of Misahualli, in a walking distance (800m) from the center. The name come from banana plants growing in the garden of the Banana Lodge. The garden has orange, lemon, guayava, guava, lichi, coffee and cacao trees and various tropical plants including pineapples. We have a majestic view to a curve of the river Misahualli and primary jungle. You can listen to the nature and smell it right here. We provide accommodation in comfortable rooms with mosquito protection, fans/airconditioners and private bathrooms with hot water. Delicious breakfasts are available. The guests can enjoy staying in a hammocks, swim in the river, exchange books, use free internet WiFi everywhere and guest kitchen. We also arrange tailored jungle tours, indigenous craft courses, rituals of ayahuaska and spanish classes.

Stayed here two nights. Excellent breakfast, clean rooms where you can hear the sound of the river just behind. Breakfast really good with amazing fruit. Very friendly owners who take their time to inform you. Just one point of attention: make sure the rooms are insect proof, because there were big cracks above the doors and windows where every insect can pass through.

A hotel in Banos recommended Banana Lodge to us, and we are so glad that they did. The rooms are clean and airy and have everything you need. The gardens are lovely, and have some fascinating plants and flowers. And it is right on the banks of the river. Anna was a lovely host. Breakfast was good, but evening meal is not available. But there is plenty of choice just down the road in town. This hotel had the most comfy bed I tried out in Ecuador.

I have visited Mishaualli many times but this was the first time I discovered banana lodge. Lovely cabins set in beautiful gardens on the bank of the river. The place was spotless and I mean spotless- you could eat off the floor!!! There was no damp musty smell typical of other jungle lodges. Rooms were large airy and very comfortable. Good WiFi signal and cold beer!!! What more could you want? Ana was a great host. Guests should note that evening meals are not available although there is a guest kitchen and fridge if you want to cook. Highly recommended- quiet location just outside town
