The Gasthof-Pensign Leopold Janu near Krems was a terrific, yet accidental find in the village of Senftenburg in a delightful valley through which runs the Krems River. The ruin of a castle and the village church seem to watch over the village. Senftenburg is a perfect place to stay when visiting the wine region of Kremstal Leo Janu, the owner,...

Leo, Gabby and daughter Isabella are the family owners and wonderful hosts of this very special guest house which is really a home away from home. Sentfenberg where the guest house is located is the most beautiful town I have been to in Austria, especially in April when all the spring blossoms are blooming. The room is really comfortable and...

My wife, two friends, and myself were looking to stay in a small town in the Wachau so we booked three nights at Gasthaus Leopold Janu. The facility is a little dated and the rooms are on the small side but they are clean, serviceable, and the place was pretty quiet. No public areas except the breakfast room and small...

This is like some other people have already said, a great place to stay. We cycled up from Krems, to this quiet little place. We felt wellcome and special from the minute of our arrival. Our bikes were safely kept in the garage, the beds where good, great free wifi, very tasty breakfast. A very nice familyrun pension.

Just wanted good value, good location accommodation near Krems as we were researching the area. This hit the spot and is well rated in Trip. Very friendly, easy parking. Senftenberg is close to Dürnstein, Krems,Langenlois, all very attractive towns and all with wine houses and the Danube. Actually one of the best wine houses, Nigl, is in Senftenberg. Well appointed...

Having returned for a second week with Leo & Gaby in the attractive village of Senftenberg I immediately felt at home. They had ensured I had the same room as last year and put my friend Jill in the next room. Jill was new to this part of Austria and fell in love with the Gasthof straight away. Although I...

Senftenberg is just 7km. north of Krems, but it's off the beaten track. Quiet & yet so convinient for day trips in the Wachau valley, in the wine district St. Poelten etc. It was pure luck I had found this place. The accomodation is small(about 9 rooms), run by a married couple who are completely devoted to making their guests...

The place was nice, service was excellent, Leopold was very helpful and friendly. They have excellent breakfast along with a quality and not expensive dinner. If we stop by there again (and most probably we will) we shall again book our stay with them.

Being elderly and speaking no German I was lucky to find the perfect accommodation for myself and friend. You could not wish for better people than Leo and his wife Gaby who run the Gasthof set in a timeless village just a short bus ride from Krems. We had booked tickets to see a performance at The Spanish Riding School...
