For us this hotel was good because it was a midway point between Miami and Key West. We didn’t want to make the journey back to Miami all in one day. I would not have opted, however, to spend my vacation here. Breakfast, too, was fine for one morning, though it is “continental” in the truest sense of the word. There weren’t enough fresh choices (fruit, for instance). What I liked most about Lime Tree Bay Resort was that the beach felt private, even amongst the guests of the resort. There were different places/nooks to sit, and different types of seating, such as hammocks, Adirondack chairs, lounge chairs, etc. It never felt crowded. The room was modern (lamps had USB plugs) and the air conditioning had a “quiet” mode which was nice when we slept. The linens on the bed felt very cheap (I could see the mattress brand through them), and ours were clean but stained from previous use. The bed, though, was comfortable and big. We were not provided with a bath mat, which was a bit cumbersome. I think it would be nice for the hotel to provide additional towels for the beach. We came with our own, but this seems like a service that could be easily provided. The pool had several used bandaids floating in it and did not appear very clean. I was disappointed that although we had an ocean front room, our view was mostly of a small parking area and also blocked partially by another building. Parking for guests who were checking in and did not yet have an assigned spot was not very clear. Once checked-in, however, the assigned spots worked well. I would not classify this as a “resort”, and I expected a bit more for the cost. However, for one or two nights it is a fine place to get some sun.

VERY DISAPPOINTED - paid for the Hemingway Suite and got the Hemingway shipwreck... My wife & I have been coming to the Lime Tree Bay resort for YEARS. We’ve been loyal customers & have recommenced the Lime Tree to many friends & family. But this time, when we got our room for our July, 4th 2019 vacation, our room was completely different than what we were expecting. The bathroom & kitchen was nothing like the pictures shown...the kitchen has no counter space, the microwave is mini and the freezer is one of those tiny ones inside the fridge...so small all you can fit in it is maybe a popsicle (so much for the ice cream we bought on the way down) And I guess if I go fishing (like we do ever time we are on vacation here and spend more renting a boat) better not catch anything because there’s no room in the freezer. The bathroom is a joke, the shower doesn’t even have a shelf or soap dish holder in the shower. Their is just a sink attached to the wall, no cabinets like the pictures or every other time we have stayed at this resort, so no place to put toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc... only place you can put them is in the sink. Literally. This is nothing like the previous years we have stayed here in a Hemingway Suites...we told the staff at the front desk & all they said we could do was write a review because the owner reads all of them (wow thanks for the help). Guess the customers happiness means nothing... are you kidding me! at least they could have told us that the room we are paying for was different than the quality we are used to here. what a rip off, we paid good money for this hotel room & all the extra amenities we are used too and got screwed out of our hard earned money. We’re on vacation, about the only time of year we are able to get away from work and relax, we were so looking forward to the beautiful rooms we usually receive upon arriving. All to say this.. if you want to take a gamble and stay here you might get what you pay for or you might not, good luck!!! Staying here the previous years was great but after this experience my wife and I will have to rethink about staying again... take a look for yourself of our room...oh forgot about the closet or lack there of...I included the picture of the room so you can tell I’m talking about the Hemingway suite... I mean Hemingway shipwreck...

My husband and I arrived at Lime Tree to spend two nights of our drive down the Keys. We found the property to be incredibly beautiful and well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable. Just outside our door, we had access to the beautiful water, a pool, and a large variety of seating options, including hammocks, Adirondack chairs, tables and chairs. There were cornhole boards and even a ping pong table. We had acccess to kayaks and bikes, though we didn’t use them. The hotel was close enough to use as a jump off point to places of interest like Long Key State Park and Theater of the Seas. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here for only one night but wished we had booked for longer. Room was modern and clean. Food at the bar was especially good! We really liked the grouper. We would definitely stay here again!

Made reservations online, check in was so smooth and easy! Front desk area was clean and very beachy! Julio, was excellent and we were loving the spacious, roomy, clean and nicely appointed room (154). No bugs, nicely appointed, spacious bathroom with plenty of toiletries. Kitchenette was nicely appointed as well. The sliding door didn't lock and within 10 minutes, Doug, the maintenance employee was repairing it. The bar/grill on premises was nice, with friendly bar staff. Sunsets and views were amazing. The property was clean and well cared for. Parking was great. Breakfast was good and again all staff was very nice. We spoke with Janet, at the desk, who again was very kind. We left for the day and returned to a clean room. Check out was also very quick and easy. We will be repeat customers!
