This is a very good hotel situated near the wonderful town of Rathen and a lot of incredible forest land and hiking. The hotel has a nice lobby and a good place to eat with beautiful views of the cliffs. You have to have a car to stay here because everything you will want to see is close, but takes...

Located on a hill, with a view to most famous saxon spots. Delicious restaurant (breakfasts and dinners). A few minutes to Rathen Kurort, Koenigstein and Bastei. Good place to visit the Saxon Switzerland and then rest after a whole day. If only rooms had balconies and air-condition.

Rathener Hof is a very pleasant hotel in a rural, green setting only a short drive from the ferry across to Rathen. The rooms are airy and spacious; the service friendly and helpful; and the buffet breakfast is excellent. A car is definitely an advantage here, and there is free parking alongside the hotel. Value for money, it's a little...

We stayed here for 3 nights in December to enjoy the area and go hiking. You can easily walk down to the river from the hotel and take the ferry across in order to walk up to the Bastei. The hotel is comfortable enough and the food is very good - both the breakfast and dinner options were excellent. Free...

We stayed here for one night in July 2013. Our room was pretty big, and had our own bathroom. It was clean, and had really nice views of the area. It was quite close to the Bastei (just drove down to Rathner, and took the "ferry" across). Staff was friendly (a few spoke some english). We had dinner there, and...

“I think first floor rooms are rather cooler on hot summer days than the ones at the attic.”

“Before you book on a travel website, try calling the hotel directly to see if you can get a cheaper rate. We paid about €100 per night having booked through Booking.com, whereas my sister made a booking shortly after we did by calling them and paid about €60 per night. Also, don't get scammed into paying for a 'mountain view' which doesn't exist.”
