Beautiful hotel beside a lake overlooking the Carinthia and the Mittagskogel Mountain. Crate with undisturbed lake with clean water. The lake has a sauna with direct access to the water, massages and a sandy beach. The hotel also has an outdoor and indoor pool and jacuzzi. The hotel is beautiful and has a bicycle storage room. Serving wine and food as well. Beautiful surroundings for hikes and bikes.

Traveling for more than 40 years all over the world. Never stayed at such Hotel !. It is managed by a family who takes care on each and every detail you may think of. Nice and roomy rooms looking at a fantastic view of faakersee with nice terrace and blooming flowers. Every place is clean and maintained: The room, the corridors, the outside spaces and gardens. The service is always with a smile and good will. The public sweeming pools, inside and outside are astonished as well as the treatment facilities. We took half board. what can we say more about a perfect sheff who cook and serve the most tasty food with acompany by a service out of this world ? WOW !!!

We stayed here for a week with extended family. The rooms are nice and spacious, the staff very friendly, professional and attentive. The food is plentiful and delicious. Great for children of all ages. The hotel has it s own private beach where you can take out boats and an electro boat (this one at additional cost) The lake is absolutely stunning, clear and perfect for swimming and fishing. Should the weather let you down, there is a large indoor pool and a wellness area. The Spa upstairs is also worth mentioning. Great for facials, massages, managed by the very lovely and competent Inge, who really made the Spa special. The area itself is beautiful, hiking, walking etc...on your door step. The hotel also lends bikes for bike excursions and tennis rackets for a fun game of tennis in one of the 3 courts. A lovely stay!

The Karner Hof is a beautiful hotel with spacious rooms across three connected buildings. Each of them has a phantastic view of the small Faaker See (lake) and across the lake the "Mittagskogel" which sits there at 2,145m like Mount Fuji or a smaller version of the Matterhorn. The hotel has a very large beach area with a lake sauna, rowing boats, several tennis courts, a separate big pool, a very modern sauna landscape and a pretty comprehensive beauty care facilities. The icing on the cake is the dinner. Every guest sits outside on a layered terrace and thus enjoys the magnificent view in the evening sun light. The food is outstanding coming from a highly rated kitchen (2 Hauben in Gault Millau) including the slad prepared individually by the owner and a rich starter buffet. The wine card offers a great selection of regional, affordable wines but also top Italian or French brands. It is indeed the perfect combination of relaxing, enjoying, wining & dining, and leisure activities.

The highlight of this hotel is the service. The staff were utterly helpful in all regards, from check-in through to restaurant service, from the smallest spa enquiry to late night milk for the smaller children. The hotel itself is in a commanding position above the Faaker See, with a beautiful sunset view across the lake to the mountains behind. The facilities are of a very good standard, with well equipped rooms and excellent spa and lakeside facilities and there are numerous relaxation options. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The restaurant offers a very good 5-6 course dinner in the evening at a very reasonable price, and the quality was good. There are nearby options for pizza and steak but at the end of a long day you are probably better eating in. It's one of the top 2-3 local Tripadvisor choices anyway! If I can find one reason to criticize it is the decor in public spaces, which is on the edge of starting to be dated. It's not bad decor, it just comes from a certain period, and some areas could probably benefit from a refresh. The price was OK but just be careful if you have kids as there are some supplements even if they use a sofa bed. Not a bad thing as they get breakfast, and they did immediately advise us but just be aware when booking what looks like a cheap deal that there may be more to pay. Overall it is a nice hotel, in a pretty location. We may go back for a longer break at some point.
