I'm sorry to have to say this but the mealtimes where shocking, service was very bad not enough staff for the amount of people, the food is nice when you get it!! At breakfast if you came down at 07:00 all the bread and rolls had gone and in the evening at dinner again all the bread and rolls gone... More

We stayed at this hotel during our coach tour holiday of the Austrian Tyrol. Hinterthiersee is a small village high in the hills. We spent four nights in room 454, which overlooks the valley. The room was very large and had a separate toilet and bathroom with a bath and over bath shower. As well as the double bed there... More

Just returned from a wonderful Shearings all inclusive nine day coach holiday to Austria. The drivers Arran and Graham were excellent, they were approachable and very helpful. We had two overnight stops, one in Germany and one in France which were in basic, but adequate hotels. Our six night stay in this typical Austrian style hotel was excellent. The hardworking... More

The hotel is in a beautiful setting, but the food is basic and rooms are basic. No tea or coffee in rooms and staff are not very helpful except Rudolf and Marianna. It is ok for hiking and the bus stops near hotel if you want to see other villages. There is a Spar shop but it is very small

The Thaler hotel is a lovely destination in the mountains of hinterthiersee. Every morning you are greeted by the fresh mountain air. The staff are very helpful and are multilingual. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool and has access good walks in Austria. Not too far away from a lake and fairly close to Salzburg, where the sound of... More

Great rooms with balconies and a stunning location, lovely weather in that area. A nice big swimming pool, and lovely food. Lovely staff and gorgeous rooms. Lovely cafe, and you get free drinks if you are with a party. Couldn't have asked for a better stay really.

This is a spacious, well appointed hotel in a stunning location, a real treat to walk out the door & see the views every morning. Comfortable room, v friendly bar staff & great local entertainment. Breakfasts excellent, dinners mostly poor(comparing badly w other Austrian hotels) & mediocre, school dinners come to mind. Dining room staff v disorganised, sometimes bordering on... More

We went with Shearings for the first time,it was a long journey but was looking forward to the holiday.Shearings classed this holiday as all inclusive, but in our opinion it wasn't because lunch consisted of a soggy roll,an apple that would have broken your teeth & a carton of drink i would give my grandchild. We couldn't get a tea/coffee after breakfast... Can't fault the location, stunning! Service unfortunately was not, there were times when it came close but these were infrequent. The hotel has masses of potential but imho needs to be managed better. The room we had was spacious and quiet but needed a little uplift, btw room servicing was excellent. Food was, to be polite different, meal times were... More
