3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

We stayed for 3 nights because we traveled every day to Jurmo where I attended a horse riding camp and there is no hotel in Jurmo (only a guesthouse). The room at the Gullvivan we had was very basic, maybe a little worn out but ok. The interior is plain, nothing unique. there is no air conditioning, so it could get quite warm in the room if the the temperature is hot outside. Breakfast was simple but good. Dinner menu is not very extensive nor imaginative and a bit pricey too compared with the nice cafe in Jurmo. Staff is nice, local people. More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Lovely setting surrounded by water with very clean, modern, and spacious cabins with toilet, shower, and cooking facilities. Nice pebble beach for swimming, and well-maintained mini-golf course (12 holes, 5 Euros for adults and 3 Euros for children). The major problem with Gulvivans is food. We were there in August, and despite assurances that there was a restaurant, it only served breakfast when we were there. Except for July, they only open the restaurant for lunch or dinner if there is a bus tour arriving, which only happened for one of our 2 nights there. Despite the fact that we had arrived by public bus, and had to walk a kilometer for food, the staff seemed remarkably unconcerned. In short, a beautiful spot that seems to cater more to bus tours and is not that welcoming for families or individuals. But if you have your own car, this could still be a good option. More
