Palia Don Pedro, is located in the southeast of the island of Tenerife, the biggest of the Canary Islands, at 24km from the airport and 2km from the beach Playa de Las Americas (tourist life area). It is located in one of the sunniest zones of the island and surrounded by a magnificent tropical garden, in Las Galletas "Costa Del Silencio", where you can find tropical vegetation and desert landscapes. Approximately 1,5km from the hotel there is a pebble beach, as well as the small fishing port of Las Galletas (1km).

Hotel Palia Don Pedro has garnered mixed reviews, with some guests commending the dedicated staff for their friendliness, while others have encountered less than stellar service, especially at the bar. The hotel's charm is noted by travelers who appreciate its quaint traditional feel, despite criticisms of the dated decor. Value is a contentious point, as many find the outdated facilities and additional charges not worth the cost. Cleanliness generally meets expectations, yet some areas could use attention. Rooms are often described as basic and worn, suffering from poor ventilation and a lack of modern amenities. The pool and activities gain recognition, but the all-inclusive offerings are sometimes seen as lackluster.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Palia Don Pedro for one week for an "after Christmas" break.
The hotel was twenty minutes away from the airport. We went on an "all inclusive" basis.
When we arrived we were greeted by a polite lady who soon sorted out our room for us.
As stated here before, the rooms are basic, a few cracks here and there but extremely clean. No air conditioning in our room only a ceiling fan so I would imagine it would get quite uncomfortable in the summer months. As my wife has a back problem, she found her single bed a little uncomfortable but it was made better by the staff putting another mattress on top of the original one. The room staff are second to none and go out of their way to help you.Bed linen was changed twice during our stay and loo rolls etc. were stocked up daily. All the grounds are kept clean and tidy by various groundsmen and the swimming pool is clean and tidy too with a lifeguard in attendance at all times during the pool's opening times. We didn't go in as it seemed a little on the cool side for us but quite a few did and they seemed to enjoy it !
The food was excellent, catering for everyone. Always a freshly cooked meat, (pork, chicken, steak etc.) being done on the grill along with fish. All items were regularly topped up too. The beer was good (San Miguel I think), and the spirits were the usual less alcoholic type of gins, whisky "Malibou" etc. but you could pay for the better brands if you wish.
The "Animación" staff were amazing ! The best that I have ever met. the four regulars constantly amused all age groups relentlessly. You were asked to join in but they were never pushy. They are a real credit to the hotel ! We also met some great people there who joined in the activities alongside us and this added to a good experience too.
If you want a change of scenery, get the bus to Los Christianos for a nice stroll and a beer. Turn left out of the hotel then left again. Walk about 150 metres and the bus stop is on the other side of the road. It takes about 30 minutes.
If you turn right out of the hotel, a 10 minute walk will get you to a couple of bars and restaurants.
After reading a few negative reviews we went there with a little trepidation but we were soon won over by the place. It is only a "3 star" hotel so if you go there keeping that in mind then you will have a great time but if you expect all the bells and whistles of a 5 star accommodation then look elsewhere.
So, would I go there again ? ...Yes! But the hotel really could do with a little "TLC". If this were to happen then it would make a good, value for money hotel into a great one.

I decided to take my granddaughter away I wanted the sunshine and wanted something cheap. I didn’t expect a lot for the money I paid but I got more than expected.
The rooms were basic but clean. Clearners in daily and changed towels.
I was on first floor which I preferred and I overlooked the pool, larger balcony. The all inclusive drinks finished at 10.30 which was late enough for me with a 7 year old. The entertainment was fine the staff tried to encourage everyone to join in (not pushy tho) which I was glad about as my granddaughter takes a bit of encouragement to join in. She really enjoined the games round the pool during the day and on a night all the kids played lovely together just outside the bar where you could see them, playing pool, tanks football and table tennis.
Some people stayed at the bar until 12 ish and when we were there a young lad who was staying at the hotel sang for everyone he was great too. Although people have said the pool rooms are noisy mine wasn’t but whether it’s worse in July and Aug I don’t know but we were fine.
Not a lot to do nearby but buses and taxi available to nearby places for small amount. My granddaughter was happy in the pool and wanted to be with the friends she met and I was looking for relaxation so we spent most time at the hotel. The massage people to the side of the bar were fab too well worth the money.

The food was ok again for what we paid I didn’t expect fillet steak and salmon but there was plenty of variety and always found something I fancied and enjoyed including steak one night. You could go to the restaurant at lunch time as well as evening or you could get burgers, toad ties etc st the bar. The staff were all pleasant and helpful.

Honest review.. came here 5 years ago just me and hubby, this time met our friends out here, the hotel is very out dated however its spacious and very clean. Rooms are in need of a lock of paint but also very clean which is important to us as stayed at posh hotels and not very clean, staff AMAZING always helpful polite up for a laugh and work bloody hard, entertainment is great especially for kids and families wanting a fun time but it's not overwhelming so like us if you want to just chill and be left alone you can, pool is freezing I will say that, sunloungers are plentiful not the most comfy but enough for all. Town not far about 15 min walk. And €1,95 for 2 by bus, bus stop opposite hotel that goes most places like Las Americas ect, FOOD! It's plentiful but check meat as not always fully cooked and not much choice if vegetarian as our vegetarian friend found, she had food but not a lot of times salad chips and cheese as not always no meat option. Food not always hot but nice, supermarkets just round corner, it's quite cheap aswell. No boozed up teenagers here just family and couples looking for relaxing having a laugh and a drink. All In all we had another great holiday if we do come back to tenerife we will stay here again. Get what you pay for and a little bit more,🥰

I stayed here for 2 weeks all inclusive in January. You can expect; good food, friendly staff and a very clean hotel/area. Unfortunately the cons weigh out the pros of this hotel.

First of all, the hotel rooms are very very basic, there’s no kettle, shampoos or shower gels which you can expect in most 1-5* hotels, you have to pay for a kettle, WiFi and a remote control for the tv.

The hotel rooms are cleaned daily with fresh bedding, the towels are changed only twice a week which can become a pain if your having showers daily.

The hotels restaurant has a great variation of food, some nights being a Mexican theme, Chinese theme etc. Being here all inclusive is worth it, drinks all day long, snacks and 3 meals.

The area of the hotel is nice, plenty of restaurants and bars close by and tac shops for gifts back home!

Overall a basic hotel, if your looking for a cheap holiday this is your hotel - you can expect to have to pay for everything, unless you want to completely detox from the outside world. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The good news is the staff are pleasant and the place is a sun trap ! Plenty of activity and the animation team are excellent.
Can’t fault our cleaner as she was very thorough.
As for the food, well it’s rather repetitive and if it was warm let alone hot it may be good so we suggest using the microwave to heat it up !
If you are given a room near the bar I suggest you get moved as the noise is unbearable. All inc bar closes at 10.30pm but bar is open until midnight and laughing and joking goes on until well past midnight so a good nights sleep is hopeless.
Also don’t expect a kettle, tv or safe unless you are willing to pay through the roof for it .
It so badly needs a refurbish as still sat in the 70’s
Really really needs bringing into the 20th century .

We stayed at the hotel from 11th - 16th March, we cut our holiday short due the C Word, which was a shame, as we were having a great time.

Check-in was straightforward, we were given a map to our room, found it without any problems, very clean, spacious and sufficient storage space (lots of hangers).

I'm not sure how people aren't happy with the food as we had a decent well balanced meals, we never went hungry, at the grill you could get freshly cooked pancakes and omlettes at breakfast, lunch a choice of meat or fish and the same with dinner.

A variety of coffee, tea, soft drinks and wines are available along with water during meals (no wine at breakfast, you only have to wait until 10.30am for the bar to open for that!!!!)

The drinks were very strong, with the standard local brands, but they weren't watered down as previous review, we understand why only two drinks at a time, but seriously why do you need more, you can only carry two at a time.

We met some amazing people, a really friendly bunch who all said what a great time they were having, the good time is mainly down to you as a person and the fantastic animation team, those guys work so hard and encourage everyone to join in, a few people just wanted to chill by the pool and they were left to do that, only being asked once would you like to play.

Alex made aquagym so amusing, as well as tiring, stuff is going on all the time, but i took part in literally everything daily whilst we could, so much laughter and interaction.

I would recommend this hotel, and I will return, as and when we can.

To all the staff at this hotel, you're a great bunch and fingers crossed everything returns to normal shortly.

This was our second visit to this hotel and we love it. If you're looking for 5* then go to a more expensive hotel. The rooms are dated but very clean, the beds are comfortable especially the pillows that are as wide as the bed.

The food is typical buffet style with a lot of choice, temperature can depend on the time you get there but we never failed to find something we liked, in the evening they have a fresh grill in the corner with fish and meat every day, in the morning here are fresh eggs omelette and pan cakes.

The pool is a nice size, a little bit cold but as the saying goes it's lovely once you're in, the lifeguard is attentive, he may look like he's not doing much but we noticed him discreetly checking on young children in the pool. The space around the pool is limited as are the sunbeds but we did manage to find one most days without getting up at silly 0'clock to reserve one.

The animacion team are amazing, Alex, Gautier, Jarvi and Elela (Sorry if I misspelled your names) absolutely made our holiday with plenty of activities every day including Archery, Rifle shooting, French Bowls, Darts, Skittles and Cocktail games and plenty more. They always have a smile on their face, remember peoples mames and have the patience of saints. The evening entertainment could be better with more interactive games but that's just our preference.

The bar is well stocked with the usual all inclusive, the beer is drinkable its the usual 2 drinks per person, in paper cups that were a bit small. The staff are amazing working very hard with one person serving both the drinks and the snack bar. The all inclusive was only till 22 30 (probably covid related) we would prefer a little later.

There is room for improvement, self service soft drinks and coffee evening entertainment, bar opening a bit later, kettles in rooms and some uk TV channels, but for the price we were happy

For the price this hotel is amazing and we will return for another winter break

After reading some of the reviews we were a bit unsure what it would be like here. As soon as we got into reception we were quickly checked in by a lovely receptionist and given 2 rooms over looking the pool

Yes the rooms are a little dated but we don't come on holiday to sit in our rooms! The shower was decent and the beds weren't to hard! Room service everyday with clean towels etc.

The pool is large and quite deep and there are plenty of sun loungers so no need to reserve with a towel at 6am!

The entertainment staff were absolutely amazing and kept us and our kids entertained throughout! With malky, shooting, archery, ping pong, water polo and many more activities in the day and good entertainment in the evening! They are probably what made our holiday, hard working snd long hours but never shows with them!

The bar area was quiet so no queing for drinks, and the snacks (burgers, hot dogs, chips, toasties, crepes etc) all made fresh for you.

The restaurant again was relatively quiet and the food was quite reparative throughout but there was something every breakfast, dinner and evening for everyone to eat with a chef cooking meat fresh in the evenings.

The location itself is in a residential area but there are supermarkets within a 5 minute walk or a 15 min taxi ride to las America's.

We all enjoyed and would come back here again, if it wasn't for the entertainment then we probably wouldn't.

Just something to point out, while we were here 4 rooms have been broken into (balcony doors left open) so would be worth using the safe.

Hope this helps,

We travelled as 5 adults and 2 children.

For a 3* hotel my expectations weren’t exactly high and my god was reality worse. The rooms were extremely dated like something you would expect from the 70s or 80s, crumbling cement on the balconies, a ceiling fan that despite saying it had 5 settings only had one: slow. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and even with a we took with us and the window open all night the room felt like a sauna.

Several times me and my partner saw cockroaches both around the room areas and in the food hall. No air conditioning in any of the rooms, and several times a day there was a strong smell of sewage around the pool area.

The food was below average quality like something you would expect from a school cafeteria. Every day there would be 2 or 3 trays of food that were different but most things were the same day after day, we ended up going out for dinner most nights!

Nighttime entertainment was basically nonexistent around 40 mins each night ending at 10:30. There were some activities during the day such as archery and air rifle shooting.

The pool itself was a good size and was a good temperature and clean every day.

The rooms were cleaned daily to a good standard although the towels were no changed once despite being told they would be changed twice a week.

The male staff were friendly but most of the female staff were moody and acted like pouring a drink or making food was a chore.

If you are looking for a cheap you get what you pay for holiday then this would be it but if you want the most basic luxuries I would go elsewhere!

Fistly lets dismiss the negatives ,the hotel needs a bit of a spruce up the bedding and curtains are old and tired. However the positives totally outweigh the negatives , the hotel all over is very clean , the maids came every day, all the staff were friendly ,happy and helpful they really make the hotel.
There is plenty of choice for food to eat , fabulous omelettes, fresh meat and fish on the griddle , they had a Chinese and Mexican themed night ( the entertainment staff made the fajitas) a good salad and cheese bar.
The gin was flowing , the queues at the bar were just as a normal bar .
The entertainment team put their hearts and soul into it we enjoyed archery and rifle shooting plus a couple of Crazy games...impressivley they do say everything in 3 languages .
We ventured out a few times to Las Galletas (Walking) Costa Adeje (Bus from near the hotel) and Los Christianos (Taxi) There are a couple of supermarkets nearby and a few bars.

We had a very enjoyable ,cheap and cheerful holiday.
