Went to the Boar's Head whilst visiting the area. Pleasantly surprised that's dogs are welcome in such beautiful surroundings. I have since been told that dogs are welcome to stay in the guest rooms. The lunch time meal was delicious,I had wild mushroom stroganoff with wild rice which was very tasty, my husband had the beef burger, fries and coleslaw. Both...

I stayed here recently and thought the Boar's Head a real delight. Staff were welcoming and friendly throughout my short visit. The evening meal was really delicious and well priced for the quality received. It was made with delicious fresh and local ingredients and very well presented. This place has a great homely feel which relaxes you and the rooms...

Stayed at the hotel last Saturday evening and had booked a superior twin room. When we arrived we were shown to our room which was in a separate building, over the road from the main hotel. This was ok for us, but anyone who has difficulty walking should check when making a booking which part of the hotel they are...

We were booked in for The weekend with our two dogs. The room (Superior) was lovely and in a house opposite the pub. On entering the room we found 2 dog beds and bowls with dog biscuits for them. Nice touch. The place is really dog friendly and everything ticked the boxes. Food, beer and staff were fantastic (the breakfast...

What a lovely idea this Bistro has to give free nibbles on a Friday night. However if you are going to showcase your food in this way at least make it edible! Last nights offering was disgraceful, watery fish balls with no discernible seasoning and a few token gesture fries. This is your opportunity to entice people to come back...

The Boars Head is part of the Ripley Castle Estate, and is located in centre of the beautiful Estate Village of Ripley. As a result the location is superb, and the Boars Head is a work of art. The staff are very professional, yet helpful, friendly, warm and welcoming at the same time....perfect. The rooms are beautifully decorated and located...

Formally the Star Inn, the Boar's Head opened in 1990. We had a light lunch consisting of sandwiches, fries and a soft drink. Although I thought the sandwiches were a little bit expensive at £7 each, they were very nice and came with a small pot of soup, coleslaw and small salad garnish. The fries were great and seemed to be...
