It's really worth the winding drive up into the hills to visit Ashburnham. Ollie and Laura made us feel completely at home from the moment we arrived, with a Ashburnham Sling cocktail no less! I highly recommend a morning walk down to the waterfall for a swim before coming back up for breakfast. Couldn't recommend this enough.

My wife and I work as consultants in Afghanistan and we desperately needed rest and rejuvenation. We found exactly what we needed in this island of tranquillity in a sea of green. Ollie and Laura met us as we arrived and provided us everything we needed to relax and unwind. They are simply wonderful hosts. I probably could have sat... More

The fabulous views from the verandah and the birdsong and animal noises made us feel as if we were in Africa. It has a real house party feel with books and games galore. The area is delightful and benefits from being a little of the beaten track The tea tour is not to be missed and made us realise that... More

This lovely spot is everything one would hope for visiting a Sri Lankan tea estate. The estate manager led us on a walk through the fields to watch the ladies picking tea. There is a waterfall close by, and one can visit the nearby tea factory. Tea and meals were served outdoors on the lovely terrace which is a splendid... More

My girlfriend and I spend two nights at the Tea Estate and we absolutely loved it. The accommodation sits in the main building of the estate with fantastic terrace views over the mountains and the plentiful wildlife all around. Laura and Ollie have been really friendly from the start, making us feel at home. I would definitely recommend exploring the... More

The Ashburnham estate is worth the detour from perhaps a more traditional tourist trail. I used it as a base (directly from Colombo) for seeing the ancient cities on day trips and then to bounce onto Adams peak via Kandy. It was monsoon season but that only really meant a better waterfall and some afternoon showers. Mr Dass does a... More

We stayed at Ashburnham Estate for one night only on route to Sigiriya but wish we had stayed longer! The beautiful guest house is located up a long hill in the middle of a huge tea plantation...the journey is completely worth it when you arrive - the views are spectacular! Lovely couple Ollie and Laura are the most WONDERFUL hosts... More

We traveled Sri Lanka for two weeks and this guesthouse was one of the highlights of our trip - the most welcoming host, delicious food with some good menu options and a real unique experience. The views of the tea plantations are one of my most liked photos on Instagram!!

Friendly hosts, great food, beautiful views, made the perfect end to my trip in Sri Lanka. The tea plantations were a unique experience and I saw lots of amazing animals, it's well worth a visit. I would highly recommended the Ashburnham Estate.

We've stayed in numerous guest houses all over the world and this was something truly special, perhaps even our favourite. Laura and Ollie were the perfect hosts and guides to the area. The location gave us quite possibly the best views out of all the ones we saw in Sri Lanka. The rooms were all big bright, and uniquely decorated.... More
