This is our very first time in Seychelles and our plane from Mahé to Praslin was delayed due to weather! We did not know if we could get there or not! Luckily we were able to contact Paul the owner and he left us clear instructions and assessment, telling us not to worry. We finally arrived and met Paul the next day. He kindly suggested us where to go and how to plan our trip. It was really helpful! This place is more like Bed & Breakfast (but we forgot to ask if our breakfast was included or not…haha) not like hotel, as most of the accommodations are like on the island. The housekeeping is provided daily which is a good thing! The accommodation is spacious with kitchen (with large fridge and all the utensils - love it!), bathroom, living room, and bedroom. It is quite convenient as they provide everything you need! Restaurants and mini markets (and airport) were all in the walking distance too. Very good! Cherry from the Philippines was really nice too! She kindly asked us what we needed and provided genuine service. Overall it’s a nice stay!

Our ferry from Mahe came in later than we thought, and the amazing staff at Ocean Jewels Resort upgraded our room to very spacious ocean front home! 5 stars for staff. Paul the owner was super friendly! My husband has a minor health issue, and we hadn’t made it back for the day in time to visit the health clinic. When we came back, Paul offered to call his on-call doctor, and drove my husband after hours to meet the doctor at the health clinic who gave him medicine. This is stellar service and was a pleasant surprise as we were heading to La Digue (smaller island) early in the morning. As I had mentioned, we came in late. Reception was closed, but there was a note for us on window. Sophia greeted us, gave us key, and showed us around our villa home. Cherry then came to take our customized breakfast order for the morning. Full breakfasts have been amazing, with different fresh fruits daily! They were both so helpful & informative. They booked all of our excursions (highly recommend the boat tour to St Pierre & Curieuse Islands). They also called us our cars/drivers for our stay and gave us ferry schedule. Andre helps to take care of the place. He was so friendly when we saw him on the property, and would break coconuts for us when we were lounging on the beach! All of the staff including the Paul the owner would kindly greet us when they saw us. Really helped to make our trip so special. They have canoes, snorkel gear, bikes to rent at the hotel. The beach here is only steps away! It is extremely calm in March (Paul said this is great time of year for this beach). Beautiful fish for snorkeling, even saw rays! Come sunset, the ocean and the sky turn the most BEAUTIFUL shades of pastels, it’s insane! Easy to book excursions & drivers through resort, or if you prefer to take the blue buses, they are super easy, come frequently, and will take you anywhere on the island! Vallei De Mai is a must, & is a UNESCO site and where you learn about the native Coco De Mer that grows there. Anse Lazio is a bit longer bus ride, but worth it as it is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Seychelles! Just ask the excellent staff for things to do! The villas are awesome! Two stories, air conditioned, huge private balcony up top, and beachfront patio below. Full kitchen so we shopped up at Whole Foods up the street for some fresh groceries (same owner so you get a discount showing your key). Fridge was very cold for our beverages...(you need it here). Super clean and staff stayed up on towels and items needed. Book this hotel, you will not regret it. Most hotels lack the warm, friendly service this staff gives. They truly care about you. Paul offered to drive my husband to his private doctors at 6pm after clinic closed. We travel a lot and this was nicest gesture ever received by staff on our adventures. I would give ten stars if I could! Sad to leave. Thank you kindly to the entire staff here for being amazing.

Very bad experience!Never again!We supposed to arrive 14 august for our honeymoon, but as soon as we have landed in Mahe they kept us in Mahe due to very bad weather conditions and our plane couldn't leave till the morning after. We have informed immediately the owner of the hotel about this inconvenience. No one took responsibility for it and all the expenses had to be covered by ourselves. When we arrived at ocean jewels in the morning of the 15th it was 9.35 not later and at first we have been shown our apartment and even we previously inform them of our delay, No breakfast was there and we had to ask 3 times to the lady who was there, she told us that normally the breakfast was served among 8.50 and 9.30 and 9.35 was too late. Finally we managed to get some food,(we paid in advance and we didnt spend the first night there for the reasons above. No one was at the reception normally to tell our plan and organise the breakfast, so it was very difficult for us organising our escursions. We asked for an early breackfast through paper message left under the recwption door and in the morning, at 7.30 am we met the same lady called Sophia in the apartment 's garden, and we asked for an early breakfast but she said there was no food yet as everything was coming fresh with her collegue later and she also said they supposed to start working at 8.00 am. So we left. While we were going back to our flat and she went to the reception area, I remembered to tell her the next morning we required an early breakfast as well, as later we most probably, wouldn't have found anyone at the reception, I went thought back to let her know and then in the reception a saw all tge food there, so i made her notice that the staff was already there and she could kindly start giving us the breakfast. There was no way to talk to anyone of the ocean jawels staff.We rent a bicycle from them, when i went to get them, among 15 bicycles, none of them was working. I have been sent to get a better bikes to their supermarket , nearby whole food ( they own that too and it is crazy expansive with very old vegetables and fruits). And i had to go back to the complex by myself carriying 2 bicycles (one for me one for my wife) on a very dangerous road, with no proper pedestrians path. No to mention the face Sophia gave us when we asked for helmets ( in the bicycles rental contract it was stated that the bicycles were coming with the helmets) but still she probably found our request weard. Eventually she gave the helmets to us. Our kitchen wasn't clean and there was dirt and ants inside the cabinets. The ants were in the plates and glasses as well. The bathroom wasn't clean enough and we took pictures of that too, it probably was never deeply cleaned. We asked some suggestions for tours to the above mentioned lady and she only suggested to us one tour for 90 euro when we then checked with other tour operators we have found the same tour for 55 euro. She didnt mentioned any other opinion. When i asked her why she didn't mention any other option she stopped talking to us greeting us when we met in the structure. On the structure descriptions we read the place has a beach.We never could go even close to it due to the strong wind that was there and therefore very tall waves too. The beach was extreamely dirty with alges and they never cleaned it. A few days after our arrival, we asked for a car rental and they contacted a company who brought us the car in the complex the morning after. The car was probably the oldest car in the island, full of scratches and could not go up on the hills. We kept it only for 2 days we then found some other company by ourself that gave us a much safer car for even less money. If we should base our honeymoon experience on this place, the rate would be very bad and we would advice anyone to think twice before booking this place. They dont care about the guests, they are only money oriented.

Dear Emanuela & Serpa, Let me begin by thanking you for posting your comment on almost every online public review site known to mankind. It's incredible the lengths that some people will go to make public their dissatisfaction and the attempts to tarnish someone's business. I will do my best to reply to your comments in a step by step manner to clarify certain matters as I feel that you have unfairly criticized and blamed Ocean Jewels Resort, it's staff and me for the initial events that led to your disappointing honeymoon : 1. Ocean Jewels Resort had nothing to do with your delayed arrival, We do not own or have shares in the airline that could not deliver on your travel arrangements. We can not control the weather and maybe you should consider the consequences that if the airline had flown during a very bad storm and the plane crashed, then you would not be hear today to tell your wonderful story. Maybe you should be giving praise to our brave pilots for saving the life of your wife and yourself!! 2. As I mentioned to you, travel insurance is something you should consider for next time as that would be your only recourse in a refund for the lost night. No hotel in the world would refund you for your travel delays. Do some research on this before blaming us and expecting me to pay for a 3rd parties non delivery. 3. Breakfast at Ocean Jewels is made fresh daily and is customized for each individual guest. The order is taken the day of arrival in order for us to prepare and have the correct ingredients. This is a small Island and we do not have the luxury of your wonderful markets at your door step. Since you did not arrive the day scheduled, your desired choices were not known to us and therefore we required time to prepare. 4. All of our 24 bicycles are all brand new, they had all arrived a week prior to your arrival. Yes a little adjustment was required as they were assembled a few days prior, this is why our staff had asked you to collect from the shop as the ones at Ocean Jewels were not ready for use. We did not expect you to bring back both bicycles to the property by yourself, you wanted to be the hero! 5. We do our best to assist all of our guests with car rental, excursions and any other requests. You are also free to make your own reservations for any other service, excursions or car rentals at your cost. We deal with reputable and reliable companies for the best prices available to you. August is peak season in Seychelles and with limited cars available, Sophia was able to find you a vehicle at a very short notice after making several phone calls at our cost. In 2 days a lot can change, so you finding another car after 2 days just says it all. 6. For readers that do not know Praslin, allow me to clarify the geographical challenge. Ocean Jewels is situated on the Southern coast of Grand Anse, almost all of the excursions to neighboring islands takes place on the northern parts of the island, naturally excursions available on our side of the island will be slightly higher than those closest as there is great distances to cover, fuel costs increase with increase in travel time. We do not have any control on these fixed costs nor do we have control over what boat operators charge, again I would like to repeat that you are free to do some homework and find your own excursions suited to your budget. On a final note - I was dealing with the death of my sister and trying frantically to make travel plans for my family, so for that I'm very sorry that my sister decided to pass away during your honeymoon. Your comments are noted and where we can improve, we will to ensure that mistakes are never repeated but in my 20 years in the hospitality industry I have learnt a lot about human behavior, this review confirms that there are some people you will never be able to please no matter what you do.

Convenience apartments close to the airport, nothing else. The area is not beautiful and the beach one of the worst. The apartments has a seedy decoration, you must pay for everything (bikes, wifi, etc.). Usually the guest houses o simple apartments like that offer bikes for free for instance (in terms to be different in front of competitors). But anyway, if you have your own car and you expect to visit the island is not a bad option just for sleep or eat in the house (an option cause the food options in Seychelles are terrible probably because it's a place "made" with the idea that tourist stay in a luxury resort half or FULL pension.

Loved everything about it. The house was lovely and the beach AMAZING! It felt like we had the beach to our selfs. I loved this beach much more than the "famous" ones because of the calm water (perfect for children). You can easily walk to a cheap take away place if you get tired of cooking your own food and the bus stop is close by so you really don't have to have a car - no matter what everybody says. If I ever go back to the Seychelles, which I truly hope I will, I will definitely stay at this place again if the price is right. Loved it.
