Very comfortable hotel which is being frequently renovated and improvement (for better) with great meals, excellent personnel and wide offer of wellness cures, stay packages and friendly meeting various individual requests is the place to where we like to return and can warmly recommend.
Very cozy and carefully designed hotel with welcoming and 100% helpful staff. This is a wellness hotel with a spa, sauna and salt cave. You can enjoy many procedures, restaurant on site (meal was great, breakfast could be richer with vegetables), free wi-fi, spacious rooms (ours was big enough and nicely decorated), many places to park... However, no swimming pool here. And not really suitable for small children.
My stay was here for 6 days, Novy Bor is a small town with shopping malls in near vicinity of this property, some restaurants, and noiseless environment. Breakfast is OK, with lot of options. We didn't took dinner in six days because of our food preference. Check in and checkout process is really very quick, staff is really efficient and cooperative.
I have not stayed in the hotel for some years. So I cannot comment on the amenities in the rooms. However I have been dining in the restaurant section periodically, and will write my review based on that. The Hotel is conveniently located in the city center, and part of it is a historic building, which creates a nice front for the hotel. Originally there used to be a Russian fighter jet parked in front of the building, until it was removed to the aircraft museum some years back. The buildings are used to function as a preschool for little children until it was purchased and restored, and then turned into a hotel. The food selection is colorful and will please almost every pallet. It offers steak, fish, pasta, and you can choose what site you wish to have your meal served with. I have invited my family to come and dine in with my husband and I for our last dinner together. My dad ordered pork loin, with french fries. My mom ordered from the children's menu creamy pasta with chicken, but in adult size full dish. I never satisfied granny or that it also from the children's menu, the fried, breaded cutlet of chicken, with french fries and instead of ketchup she asked for mayo. My husband and I, we both ordered the chicken breast steak, with creamy spinach, served with bread basket. To wash all of that down we asked for two large jugs of water, and beer. I have to say that the food served was pleasing to the eyes. And was perfectly cooked. The meet was not dry, quite the opposite. It was very juicy, and well flavored. The pastor was creamy, and well seasoned. The portion for each of the meals was very generous. Enough to satisfy the men in our party, and the most testy and unsatisfying person among us, granny. The staff was very patient, helpful, and attentive. They made a great effort to come out in to the garden periodically, to check on us, to make sure that we are not lacking anything. Generally speaking the restaurant inside and out but was very clean, and beautifully furnished. The tables where glass top and had been put under large umbrellas, to shade the diners from the sun, and protect them from rain. The restrooms where down stairs, but the not very conveniently located, they were clean, and easy to fine. The receptionist was friendly, and helpful. The hotel is first class for a small town like this one, and would do well even if it was in a bigger town. I did stay in the hotel some years back, and will say that the rooms are well furnished, door a bit small. Most of the rooms have a small private balcony that is looking into the parking lot, and the residential neighborhood. I definitely recommend visiting the restaurant. And would recommend staying in the hotel.…
I stayed there for only 2 nights for work, but the customer service was excellent! Also, breakfast was very nice, with lots of choices. The gardens are very inviting as well. I would stay here next time!
Have stayed here many times and the Hotel is a warm welcoming place to spend the evenings after work (in my case). The food is very good and I would recommend the steak ! The rooms are very clean and modern, Wifi reception is free and very good in rooms, however a little tentative in restaurant and reception areas. Would like to see at least one English (speaking) TV channel (even news!), so unless you have a Laptop and or speak Czech Russian or German be prepared not to use the TV. Service is good and friendly and the Hotel is very good value for money. Breakfast is also good with full array of food warm and cold on offer. I did not avail of the wellness centre, but local knowledge says worth trying.
Stayed here one night with three balcony rooms for three generations of our family. Hotel has a charming back yard the balconies face and we could all wave to each other from that peaceful view. Rooms were decent - didn't notice any big problems. Liked the wine in the rooms very much - it was a local red which we immediately enjoyed. Lobby of the hotel is straight out of the 70s but again charming in its own way - glass sculpture in middle reminds one the the hotel is in the center of Bohemian crystal land. Hotel restaurant is also above par for a small town; slow service but we all liked the view and quality of the food. Didn't use the wellness spa or other facilities, and I wouldn't say the whole experience was lux, but that wasn't what we expected anyhow and the hotel was more than adequate for our stay. Tip - don't miss nearby Ajeto restaurant inside a glass works factory - quite a show!!…
Each hotel rises and falls on the service it provides. Our "highlights": Disgusting whirpool with chunks of slime and hair floating around the filters with water stench similar to one week old wet mop - when the receptionist on duty was informed she was full of Thanks but no word of apology. Considering that after us there was another couple scheduled for the wellnes (woman pregnant) I really wonder how come we were the first to complain about this a luckily we did before the pregnant woman entered that swamp. When I brought it up the second day at the reception and noted that this is not the right way to solve this kind of issue, I was only assured the whirpool is cleaned each day (hardly!) and we can go there again free of charge (no thanks). Service at restaurant mainly very poor as well - waiting time for dessert over 20minutes and when the waiter finally came he asked if we are already finished with the main dish (after taking away the dirty dishes long time ago). And as it was already mentioned welness (massages, therapies etc..) very poor not what you value you would expect for the money. Overall I was relieved that we bought the welness package in sale for half price, because if I´d had payed twice as much I would be infuriated - like this I´m only left with angry memory …
Like others have found, this hotel is quite nice. Location is great, the restaurant is good, with solid food. However the service REALLY let´s it down. One night we sat in the bar waiting for service for almost 40 minutes. I think it is the case of a small town, minimal employees.
We were very happy with the hotel, its location, staff and food but what was disappointing was the wellness centre. Very poor quality of the service, definitely need to work on that. Tried for example hot stones wrap, which meant that the lady put towel on your back and then some stones which cooled down immediately. That's not quite what I imagined it like or had done before.
