Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas earns rave reviews for its sumptuous amenities, with guests frequently praising the luxurious villas, private pools, and tailor-made butler service. The resort's cleanliness and meticulous attention to detail are consistently called out by satisfied visitors. While the exceptional service provided by the attentive staff is a highlight for many travelers, opinions on value for money are mixed, with some questioning the inclusivity of prices. The spacious and authentically designed rooms, along with the resort's stunning location, contribute to the overall memorable experience, although the restaurant's ambiance receives some criticism for harsh lighting.

We had 1 of the best resort experiences of our lives with the luxurious 5 star Anatara Maia and our 1 of a kind amazing butler, Baadshah.
The resort alone, with it's spectacular views and extra luxurious accommodations, will make you feel like you are in paradise. And Baadshah, will make you feel like royalty with a personalized pampered experience.

1st) The resort is beautiful with breathtaking views and a lush resort layout. The villas are spacious with well thought out amenities. You could just lounge in your infinity pool, the water balcony, sun loungers and your outdoor soaking tub and enjoy the vacation. But you'll want to enjoy the beach and the resort's snorkeling. The food is delicious and there are lots of options. The spa is also world class. Baadshah set up a unique shoulder and foot massage for us.

2) Baadshah. Your experience is extra special due to the first class hospitality of your personal butler. Our Butler, Baadshah, became an adored and valued friend by the end of our trip. I cried when we said goodbye. He met, anticipated and exceeded our needs. Every day he ensured our rooms were pristine. Every day and night he surprised us with a unique Baadshah experience: a foot and shoulder massage, a helicopter pad view dinner, a surprise bubble bath with flowers, cocktails on a cliff, dinner in the wine cellar and a gourmet breakfast delivered to our room. He added extra personalized touches like remembering and including our favorite foods and drinks. In addition to bringing a complete hot gourmet breakfast on a morning where we had a full day of boating, he brought a snorkeling mask that I'd successfully used the day before. He also brought a basket full of snacks to enjoy during our excursion.

This is a world class experience!!!

With that, of course, it is expensive, but it is high quality. When we first considered Anatara, it was all inclusive, which we were happy about. That changed when we got around to making our reservations. We came very close to not booking due to this recent change. I'm glad we didn't, but it certainly did influence our decision.

Location – a relatively short ride from the airport, ~30 minutes, perched on a hill overlooking a small bay with breathtaking views from almost everywhere in the resort
Accommodations – we stayed at the Premier Ocean View Pool Villa and it was as luxurious as promised with attention to details, total seclusion and amazing views. If you prefer beach access, go for their 'Beach Pool' villa but they are less secluded than the 'Ocean View'
Food – the resorts is all-inclusive, which is nice, and the chef offers a great selection of different cuisines, where you can pick and choose to your liking. Most cocktails and a decent selection of wines is also included. You can have your meals at the beachfront restaurant or in the privacy of your villa. I'm usually not a fan of the later option but in the luxurious setting of our villa, it was actually a treat. The one single knock on the menu is that the dessert section leaves quite a bit to be desired, at least for guests with a sweet tooth.
Service – one of the highlights of our stay. We had a team of two assigned to our villa, Hanan and Budika, and they provide an outstanding service. They were always available, thought also knew when to give us space, always smiling and it felt like they really cared about our wellbeing!
Activities – we didn't come to the Maia for the activities, but there is snorkeling available in the bay as well as SUP and Kayaking and if you want more than that, the staff would be happy to arrange.
The one incident that marred our experience a bit was the checkout time. The web site lists 'late checkout' as one of the privileges included with the 'Premier' villas. For us it was a consideration since our flight back was only at 18.00. In reality, the resort didn't afford us that privilege, even though they knew our flight time, insisting that we check out exactly at the standard 11 am time.
Bottom line, I would highly recommend the Maia Seychelle, particularly for couple looking for a luxury, gorgeous and secluded setting!

Dear MosheM410, Thank you for writing your review on TripAdvisor and more importantly to chose Anantara Maia for your stay in the Seychelles. It has been a real pleasure for us to welcome you and I am thrilled to read that your villa host delivered the service you expected respecting your privacy. Thank you for your comment regarding the dessert, we will work on this with the chef. With regards to the Late Check-out, as discussed together I understand fully the disappointment and while it is a benefit for the premier villas, it is subject to availability on the day of check-out. When guest depart with a late flight, we always recommend that they prebook the late check-out in order to ensure they can enjoy their experience all the way to the moment their transfer come to escort them to the airport. I am thrilled that your experience in Anantara Maia was very positive and look forward to welcoming you again, Thank you.

We have stayed at a good deal of luxury resorts over the years, but the days we spent at the Maia left us with truly exceptional memories. 30 spacious and tastefully decorated villas set in beautiful beach & gardens. With every villa comes a personal butler, who gives his guest his or her undivided attention. Maia's motto is "whatever, wherever, whenever" - so if you wish to have your breakfast at 3 pm or - like we - enjoy a Thai soup at 8 am, that is what you get. Management and staff went out of their way to make one's stay a memorable one, and they were very successful with us. One day our butler surprised us with a sunset dinner on the hilltop with a wonderful view overlooking two beaches, on another day with Champagne and a foam bath. But he was always ever so tactful to give us all the privacy that we wanted. No doubt the resort is at the pricier end of the range, but it is definitively worth it.

We flew to Seychelles from Dar es Salaam after a busy 2 week trip on Rovos Rail. Arriving at Maia at 3.00am in the dark it was difficult to see the view but after settling into our magnificent hilltop villa we woke the next morning to see the glorious sea views from our terrace. The villa was beautiful, very large and with 2 beautiful pools, 2 terraces and a wonderful Butler, Laxman, who took care of our every need. The layout of the villas at Maia is excellent and luxurious with beautiful fittings and very superior bedlinens. There's a great walk-in shower room and the bathroom has everything one needs, especially the beautiful Hermes toiletries! No mean minature soaps and bath products here at Maia, everything is a generous and a large size. The assistant manager Mr Kumar was kind enough to take the time to show us around the development. The buggy system is excellent and, we're not young so he and Laxman arranged that everyone made allowances and took the easiest routes for us to access the beach and restaurant area. Everwhere we went the staff addressed us by name and were smiling, helpful and happy. Laxman even arranged to have extra lights put up on the steps down to the villa as we found it a little dark. The beach is lovely and the bar and restaurant excellent. There is little need to leave the villa if you don't want to as the Butler is available 24 hours if needed and after ordering all meals etc brings and serves them on the beautiful villa terrace overlooking the sea view. How fortunate we were to have our butler Laxman. He is one of life's wonderful people and could not do enough for us. For every meal he laid our terrace table with flowers, lights and candles and it always looked gorgeous. There was nothing he would not do to make our stay enjoyable. His kindness, generosity and all round relationship with us made this week in Paradise just perfect. Maia is a little bit of heaven on earth and if you like peace and quiet, just the noise of birds singing and waves crashing, and being looked after majestically then this is the best place in the world. Can't wait to go back.

Fabulous 5 night stay at Anantara Maia. Our butler Juliana looked after us exceptionally well and went out of her way to source for us items we enjoy (blue cheese). We liked that we could request our room services to suit our daily schedule and ensure we had privacy at the times of day when we most value you it rather than having to experience a typical hotel morning/evening room service schedule.

The villa was simply quite beautiful with amazingly efficient air conditioning and the most exquisite view of the sea and the beach. Bose music system throughout all villa areas was great to use and to be able to connect your own spotify playlists to was a nice touch. We also used the main pool and bar area which were never crowded so it felt like we had our on exclusive use of the resort.

The staff were all very well trained and delivered exceptional levels of service throughout our stay. All in all a very relaxing stay, thank you Maia team!

We have stayed at many excellent properties across the world. But Anantara was a GREAT experience.
The hotel is built in a manner as to value your privacy, and you are genuinely “isolated”. The villa host and all benefits inclusive ideas work like a charm. We did almost every possible activity available in the resort. But ultimately, for us, the main factor that made the experience memorable was the service orientation of every staff member.
Starting with the GM Matthieu, Anil, Marcus, Mike, and every other person we came in contact with was pleasant, efficient and exuded warmth.
And our villa host Gihan was just the best. Every request of ours was met on time with a smile. He often went that extra mile, and that made a difference.

On a lighter note, the only thing to watch out for is the extremely hungry geckos who come streaming when even a hint of the smell of food enters the villa!

The last word, if you are going to Seychelles, don’t stay anywhere else. This is the only place to be!

My Wife and I love staying in hotels and as we're based in Dubai, we are spoiled for choice. We've been super fortunate and I say this without any arrogance, but we've stayed in some really beautiful hotels and rooms so our standards for being outrageously impressed, are unfairly high. I mean we are very easily pleased, just not so easily wow'd. Because of that, it's very rare we feel so inspired by a stay, that we actually want to write a review.

I could write an endless amount regarding the staff (Mathieu the hotel manager especially), the food, the tireless efforts the team make to ensure your stay is beyond imagination and the view is literally beyond belief.

Our butler, Nisal seemed to operate with an almost psychic instinct. Just before we got thirsty, he would seemingly appear with our favorite cocktails. He'd whip up some lattes for us with our favorite snacks before we could ask for them, he filled our bath with literally an entire bottle of bubble bath, had our favorite foods delivered in a floating tray next to us in the mini pool and just seemed so nice and so chill. Nothing was too much for him. Our room was literally spotless all of the time too.

The view in the room was just taken straight from a movie. We couldn't stop staring at it! We would settle down with our drinks on the huge sofa, listen to the birds, watch the sun set and just remind ourselves how incredibly lucky we were.

If you can afford a few nights in this place - DO IT!! The staff will actually encourage you to order whatever you want, whenever you want! I was eating burgers at 10am, sipping champagne at midday, ordering tempura in the afternoon and eating steak at night.

You can go kayaking and paddle boarding whenever you want, for however long you want - for free! Mike will sort you out, he'll make sure you're feeling safe and secure and off you go. We had an amazing time! We went snorkeling, messed around in the pool with the endless blow up boats and inflatables (That were probably there for the kids....but anything goes in Anantara!), we even tried Yoga...for free!

Seemingly every night, we would see the hotel manager attending guests in the restaurant, asking if they need anything, ensuring their stay is perfection! This guy went out of his way to find a very particular sweet red wine that my wife loves, just because he feels the hotel should be delivering, in every single way.

Stay here!! Right now :D

We particularly enjoyed the quiet, relaxed atmosphere of Maia, the attentiveness from all the staff and the privacy of our villa. The Butler service was excellent. Throughout our stay (11 nights) Luthfi looked after us and found ways to pleasantly surprise and delight us with beautifully set private dinners, delicious pre-dinner cocktails, banana smoothies, snacks and platters of fruit. Heaven! The morning yoga was a great start to the day and the Spa treatments were outstanding. During our time, the weather was unfortunately not conducive to good snorkelling (from Maia's beach or by boat).

In brief, a great place to step of the hamster wheel, read books, lie by the pool, enjoy romantic dinners with your better half. The perfect follow-on destination after safari!

We can also highly recommend Taxi Driver David Malvina for island tours and airport transfers. You can book him via Maia or direct tel. +248 2 608383.

My husband and I were blown away by our stay at Anantara Maia. We arrived by helicopter where we got the privilege of seeing the main beach that sits just outside of the resort and the botanical plants that surround the resort's helipad. We had a very warm welcome from a number of the members of staff and got taken to our villa by golf buggy.

Our villa was absolutely stunning and it was made special with a 'happy honeymoon' display on our bed. Our villa was very private, it had a beautiful spot to view the sunset on the rocks and the sunset could also be viewed from the villa itself. We had a beautiful view of the main beach on the mainland and the sea.

We have eaten in many top restaurants and we thought the food was delicious. We loved having different cuisines to choose from and wish we had more time to eat more from the menu! Our favourite dish was the sushi (which we ended up ordering every day for lunch because it was so good!)

We had one dinner at the villa, a BBQ on Tektek island, a beach dinner and dinner at the restaurant. All dinner locations were beautiful but the most special meal was the BBQ. Every element of meat and fish was full of flavour and cooked to perfection and our BBQ chef, Biggie, was very friendly and pleasant to chat to. The location felt very special with pontoon lights and candles surrounding as as well as beautiful exotic plants.

We spent a lot of our time in the bar area or on the seats near the beach where we would be served immediately and get a lot of attention to get drinks topped up. We particularly enjoyed sitting with Deepak at the bar where we'd chat and he'd make up concoctions for us based on flavours we like and he always did a fantastic job providing us with special drinks that matched our preferences!

On our first full day, we went snorkelling around the bay. You did not have to go far to see many different tropical fish. At one point my husband struggled to get his breathing right and Mike (who took us out there) helped him to relax and after that he could properly enjoy the snorkelling. From that first experience, we loved seeing Mike around the resort. He would stop for a chat and would do anything to make sure we had everything we could want.

Last but not least, our guest experience was made extra special by Anton our butler. From little surprises in our room to serving us our food at our special dinners, Anton never failed to impress us. One of the days, we discussed how we'd like to arrange for the outdoor bath to be filled and got back to a full bubble bath waiting for us. Anton's work ethic and level of service is unmatchable. We wish we had an Anton in our daily life!

Thank you Anantara for making our dreams come true for our honeymoon. You made us feel so special and that is an experience we will never forget!

We had a moment of our life with so much relaxation with our kids after few years with busy life in such a small paradise on earth. It was such great hospitality from an amazing staff from our arrival to the departure with care of attention. On the day of arrival, we were welcome with beautiful rain which was most needed for my kids as they have not experienced it for some time and the next day we woken up with sunny blue sky. Our villa (premier ocean view pool villa) is in such breath-taking location where you can see the sea from your bed and the 240-degree panoramic view of the island at the same time. More than that our villa host Nehemiah made our stay more unique as he has done his best to take care of us from bottom of his heart. He was my little sons’ best friend as he still remembers him very well. We were lucky to enjoy the finest meals including fresh fruits and lovely sea food platters prepared by chef Manoj and Udesh. I had a lovey early morning yoga session every day and the most relaxing Anantara Signature massage at the Anantara Spa made me more pampered on top of everything. We had a city tour, visit the water fall and another unique experience of a helicopter ride over the Seychelles islands. I could write more but I would like to recommend this place for someone who would like to have proper relaxing holiday with your love once without thinking twice. Once again thank you all for made our stay unforgettable which we have lot of beautiful memories to share with our close once.

If you download the Anantara app and look up the Maia, under Tec Tec restaurant you can find the price list, food was excellent though.

Is the transfer service provided by Maia value for money, or is it better to arrange private transfer?

Booking direct with Maia maybe a little bit more expensive, but if you are arriving early they will always be very accommodating. We've arrived off an early morning flight and had breakfast when we arrive and were taken to our villa as soon as it is ready. Also, they will fast track you through immigration at the airport - good if your flight has many passengers. And all the staff are superb!
