The Lighthouse Keeper’s House dates back to 1772. The house is listed as well as the surrounding area called Nakkehoved. The lighthouse is one of the few and best preserved coal lit lighthouses in the world. Panoramic view from the garden overlooking The Sound, Kattegat and Kullen in Sweden. We are located 2 km. from the town of Gilleleje and 45 min. drive from Copenhagen. The beach and a jetty is right below the cliff . Our neighbor is the local inn Fyrkroen which serves traditional Danish. The rooms have a seperate enterance and seperate bathroom – no sharing. Guests are welcome to use the garden and the terraces.

Very nice stay. Karsten is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is very good. The views during breakfast are incredible. The room and bathroom are cozy. The area is quiet, the BB is located both in a forest and on a cliff. It is a 40 min walk from Gilleleje center, with a super nice view all along.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at this beautiful B&B. It was impeccably clean, very quiet and peaceful and very charming. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was particularly spacious. If the weather is good, breakfast is served in the garden overlooking the sea. Breakfast was delicious and you couldn't ask for a more picturesque spot to enjoy it. The innkeepers are very friendly and helpful. This was one of our favorite places we stayed in Denmark and we were sorry we couldn't stay longer.

We had a very good stay here. Best features were the deck looking over the sound to Sweden, the excellent breakfast with home made bread and really fresh eggs (served on the deck), and the really friendly welcome. Lovely walks around. The accommodation has a double bed room, a bunk bed room, and a really spacious shower/loo ... they let it all out as a unit. Oh, and the excellent weather (not guaranteed to all visitors).. The room was comfortable, the bed felt soft at first but turned out to be really supportive and comfortable. We were there Sunday to Wednesday at the start of September, without transport. We had wonderful weather, but there are some things that could be a problem out of season during the week. The restaurant next door closed after Sunday lunch to open again on Thursday ... we had expected to eat there at least once, perhaps twice. Walking into town for meals would have been a pain if the weather had been bad. We packed ourselves bread and cheese for one supper on the desk with the setting sun. We didn't get to visit the lighthouses either, again closed Monday to Wednesday. No sitting room or lounge, no problem for us in the lovely weather, but would have been a little confining had the weather been bad. It would be a really good place with bicycles (preferably electric tandem).

Cannot express how satisfied we were with our stay at B&B Lighthouse. The location, service, feel of privacy, great wifi, treatment from the host Karsten and the absolutely best part: the breakfast all added to a great experience. The B&B is located in Nakkehoved, which is a five minute drive from Gileleje. The B&B is in an old lighthouse. Owner Karsten lives in the lighthouse villa and the B&B is in an adjacent building with it's own entrance. There is only room for one set of guests (maximum four people) at a time, so you get full privacy. Can only recommend a visit. Although Gilleleje itself is small and does not offer any special activities (really charming, though), distances by car are surmountable. Copenhagen is one hour away, Helsingor 25 min, Louisiana Art Museum 35 min and so on. All along the coast are some great beaches that must suit every taste, ranging from rocky ones and cliffs to the finest sand.
