Exclusive to adults, Rose in Vale is an historic, family owned Grade 2 star listed building and secluded Country House Hotel dating back to the 17th century. An oasis of calm in the Heart of Cornwall, set in a valley in the quaint village of Mithian close to St Agnes and Truro on the Cornish Coast. With 10 acres of stunning grounds within the heart of unspoilt Cornwall, our hotel is the perfect base for relaxing and exploring the best that Cornwall has to offer. The spacious restaurant, full of natural light and overlooking the beautiful grounds, is where breakfast and evening meals are served with full table service. Steeped in history and with connections to Poldark, our Georgian building has been home to some very interesting characters over the last four hundred years. You have no need to move hotels when touring our wonderful county, we are an ideal base to explore all of Cornwall. The best visitor sites, beaches, harbours and top attractions Cornwall has to offer can be reached in under 60 minutes being centrally located on the spectacular Cornish coast. You can arrive knowing that you only have to unpack once! The Cornish UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Designated Area of Natural Beauty of St Agnes and the South West coastal path is right on our doorstep. We are only a couple of minutes by car to several beaches and coves around the St Agnes and Perranporth area and are just 6 miles from Truro the only city in Cornwall. Affectionately known as ‘Our Great Little City', Truro is one of the smallest cities in the UK and is a must see when visiting Cornwall for its stunning Cathedral cobbled streets, shopping, markets and museums. We offer a genuine friendly welcome, delicious food and a comfortable nights stay in a peaceful valley by the stream.

We stayed for the 4 night Christmas package and had a very pleasant trip, The superior room was spacious and comfortable, with a massive bed, the staff were delightful, were very conscientious about my wife's nut allergy and very resourceful when half the hotel lost power on Boxing Day. The location, deep in the country and yet within easy range of Truro and the North Cornish coast was excellent and the food was first class. The one small flaw for us, was that even the older parts of the hotel lack ambience, while the restaurant is a very bland room. Otherwise highly recommended.

Myself and my wife recently stayed at the Rose In Vale in October. Ideally situated to get around Cornwall, the room was nice and clean and we had breakfast every morning which was very nice. A particular mention for Fran who was exceptionally helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a sucessful one.

We stayed in late September, the room we had was good and Clean the bed was a 4’6””Sleigh bed, as I’m 6’2””tall, you can imagine it wasn’t very comfortable. The Breakfast was okay but the Scrambled egg was over cooked. The Dinner’s that we had was not very good at all, The menus were not good.and the veg was all ways over cooked. Will will not be returning.

Response from Rose in Vale Manager, Owner at Rose in Vale Country House Hotel
Responded Oct 5, 2021
Hello Mr Hall, We are quite shocked by your review and cannot understand where this is coming from. At no point during your stay did you mention any of the above, and yet you felt very comfortable asking for help from reception each day, including organising your dinner times, as you ate with us each night. You were also able to flag down our housekeeping team in the corridor and ask for them to change your bed linen from duvets to sheets and blankets, which they did immediately on your first morning with us, so we cannot understand why you would not mention to any of the team that you would like a different room, to cancel your dinners or why you would not mention an issue with the food to the friendly restaurant team, and instead praised the food continuously. Your comments on check-out are also, 'thank you for our stay'. Had you mentioned any of the above to the team, we could have helped, although we feel this review does not reflect your stay at all.
