Dont expect to make many friends as most guests are Russian, Eastern Europe vistors ( they need to learn how to smile and say hello!!)
We stayed half board, ok for breakfast, but eveing meals a bit "samey"
At the quieter enf of the "strip" in Rethymon, but bus stop outside outside of Hotel if you want to go into town.
Recomend to hire a car to vist other beaches, Georgeopolis and Petre beaches great.
Hotel is quite conveniently located, on a beach, near the bus stop, taxi stand, rent a car, restaurants, shops...
We were more than satisfied and did not expect that hotel and service would be that good for the reasonable price we paid.
Our room was very clean, spacious enough with great balcony overlooking the garden and (for me this was very strange) with glass bathroom door.
Room was cleaned every day except sunday, linen was changed twice, towels were changed every third day (and when you leave it on the floor).
Food was great (half board): a lot of vegetables (salads, side dishes), fruit, feta cheese, yogurt, at least two dishes with meat and one dish with fish, pies, souvlaki...
During dinner a glass of wine was 1.5 euro, small beer was 2/2,5 euros.
Sea was warm and for the first few days with no waves.
Beach is mostly sandy with fine gravel near the sea, we didn't need shoes for entering the water, but some people did.
Two sunbeds and parasol were 5 euros.
One way ticket to Rethymnon cost 1.2 euros and it can be bought at the hotel or at almost any shop, taxi is 10 euros (the price is fixed).
We went on excursion (with an excellent guide who spoke both german and english) to Heraklion and Knossos with Klados travel, it was 18 euros per person + tickets (ticket for Knossos is 6 euros, for Archaeological museum in Heraklion is also 6 euros, combined ticket for both sites is 10 euros).
The only downside were mosquitoes.
I stayed here from 1/08/14 - 15/08/14 with a large group of 21 people averaging from 1 to 75 years old, all inclusive.
This hotel was very nice, we had a family room which was to be fair massive with a large balcony to go with it. The hotel itself is nice you get one swimming pool (don't get confused with the two pools in some pics as this is the apartment's), an your bar is situated right next to the beach.
The staff are very friendly, cleaning staff, staff in the restaurant, our only downside was the two male members of staff behind the bar of the night time, they came across as rude an like they didn't want to serve you, it wasn't until the last night there they told us they never get a large group of English people all together, which to be fair is no reason to be rude, but they did get better.
The food is good always something to eat even with children, albeit it can get a Lil bit repetitive, we eat out a few times at the taverna over the road called levantes, or if ur prepared for a Lil walk, we went to alexandrose.
The rooms are cleaned Monday to sat, only day of is Sunday.
The all inclusive drinks are only served till 10 not 11 as some have said, past 10 u can buy drinks but u don't get them free, the Alcohol is only really red wine, white wine, beer, raki, ouzo an mataxa, no other spirit is free on all inclusive. We decided to buy our own drinks from shops a few times.
Theres no entertainment of the night times accept once a week they have a greek night on a Thursday.
Over all the hotel itself is great, swimming pool, beach, cleanliness, my only down side was the bar staff. Once all inclusive had finished they basically made the night there's by drinking the night away with greek music.
Would I go back, unfortunately not to this hotel but to crete definitely.
"Do not accept the rooms situated to the street. Rooms for bigger families are closer to the beach and restaurant, but the hotel is small."Read full review
"Just few rooms with the view to the sea. Try to choose or book some room in the second floor, not it the ground floor."Read full review
